Welding with short sleeves and shorts exposing bare skin to ultraviolet light from the welder is a very bad idea.

Would a plasma cutter be a good option for this type of cutting, or does that not leave a smooth cut on the surface?
It would have been faster, but I wanted a little cleaner edge than I could get hand cutting with the plasma.

Would a plasma cutter work faster for cutting the rings out of the tank?
Probably, unfortunately at the time of this sculpture my air had to much moisture and I was getting bad cuts. I have since fixed that though.

My dude, you need a plasma cutter. That would make quick work of those cuts. Minutes instead of hours.
Lol I have one, in hindsight sight that’s what I should of used. I was initially worried about the finish that the the plasma leaves, but that didn’t end up mattering.
super nice work, though i'd be worried that base won't hold up. It was awfully wobbly when you were touching it, I'd imagine a good windstorm could cause issues.
I’m not sure it came through in the video but I ended up welding it to the top of the base and it stiffened up a lot.

Just a thought if you ever have to make smaller circles like that perhaps a ratchet strap could get you there as you ratchet the circle would get smaller. I think you're a talented guy and if you took a class on making successful youtube videos youll probably make a killing. These really long videos are hard to watch and im sure your losing your audience pretty quickly.
Ratchet strap is a good idea! Yeah I need to work on the editing. I need to get everything down to 20mins or less. It hard to know what to take out still figuring it out. Thanks for the comment!
That’s a good idea. When I was a fabricator I also used something called a “pipe tape” comes in a roll even has measurements converted around the curve it’s a great tool
