25:44 😖🧐☹️ this is one of the things that makes me question the whole trucking thing. I can't believe they don't make it more reliable to find somewhere to rest
It was more poor trip planning on my part here. There was a thortons about 1 minute past this walmart. I just assumed there was parking when I saw the trucks, lol. Trip planning is something I don't do the greatest at!
Thank you very much Mike! 🙏. It is definitely scary at times when you are light and empty in the wind like that! Keep up the great work with those videos 👍
It's so disappointing that more places aren't allowing truckers to rest even if they're clock is out. They'd rather us risk the safety of everyone else out there than let us rest for a measly 10 hrs. Looks like your doin great out there man! Love to see it
I have a feeling that not always but most of the time both flatbed and tanker will be more aerodynamic and less prone to flipping in the wind than the big rectangular box trailer.
Thank you very much Brett 🙏. I really like it so far. I look forward to this year. I hope you have a blessed one and it's always great to hear from you!
I finished load securement in Gary, IN yesterday and waiting for my OTR trainer to arrive around 11:30-12:30 this afternoon. Hope to see you in the terminal 👍🏻 -Your fellow Kentucky Trucker
I stayed at the Gary terminal last night and usually go there at least once a week. Congratulations on completing that and starting with your trainer! That's a very important and big moment for you as a trucker. Let me know how it goes, be safe and God bless!
@@bluegrassoutdoors we left Gary for Virginia 3am yesterday morning. Got at consígnee a little over an hour ago. thank ya much! Will do and God bless to you as well 🙂
Unfortunate you had to move but do make sure you are reading signs before parking in lots overnight. Usually if a place does not allow overnight parking they indicate as such on signs posted all throughout the lots. I worked security at a mall when I was younger and we would get drivers parked next to signs saying no overnight parking who would argue over their clock. You want to give drivers leeway then when you do the property manager sees it and reems you a new one. Walmarts are also starting to do away with the allowance of overnight parking due to drivers treating their lots like their own personal urinal and trash can. A few bad apples are spoiling the bunch. There's an app called Trucker Path that will show you where you can park your truck overnight.
Yeah, it was my fault for not confirming whether they allowed parking or not. You're right about trucker path as well! I checked it after I had to leave and it confirmed there was no overnight parking there. Maybe my mistakes and not so smart moves will help others not to do the same haha
Lol, that was pretty bad wasn't it! I'm so used to having a trailer that I thought I had one behind me nearly the whole time I sat there at Walmart haha
a week ago i talked to a recruiter and she told I can rapply next year for the training program something came up in my dmv report something that happen 3 years ago and and I guess next year I will try again . I might apply on January 3 2025 see what happens
Hey congrats on the new truck. I think I seen you either thursday or friday again lol. Were probably making the vid when I seen you. I'm in week 2 right now at roehl and have done almost everything perfectly. Getting ready for the CDL test next week. Have a great one!
You probably did cause I stayed there that bight if im not mistaken lol. Congratulations on your 2nd week and doing so well with it! Time goes so fast once you start driving. I wish you the best with your test and please let us know how it goes for you. Thats a big moment, getting your cdl! One of my happier accomplishments in life. Be safe and God bless, Maximum!
I told you couple episodes in the backpast that be careful of parking in Walmart parking lots. You'd be right off. I'm pretty sure I did tell you that.
Hey Dillon, not sure why I was suggested your video but the algorithm works in mysterious ways. A little background, I graduated from the roehl CDL school in December of 2001, with my first load ever with a trainer going to New York City in January of 2002. I've been in the industry since then, and I'm a member of the Wisconsin Motor carriers as a road team captain, I have been a CDL instructor, a trainer, I was awarded WMCA driver of the month for the state of Wisconsin in 2020, I'm a JJ Keller certified instructor, and have helped design the training program at my current employer, and I also have my own UA-cam channel that my employer highly encourages. I just want some verification from what you said in your video, can you truly become a trainer after only 6 months running solo and also become an owner operator? That's a horrible decision on Rick Roehl's part and I'd highly suggest once you are out of any contractual obligations with Roehl to not only walk away, but run. You shouldn't have to train or become an owner operator to make good money in this business. When I worked there they had a more stripped down version of trucks than what you have but they still didn't give you a fridge in the trucks. The company I work for now has not only a fridge in every truck, but they pay for satellite TV, satellite radio, you get holiday pay, and our family health insurance doesn't break the bank like Roehl's at least used to. If you're making less than 75 cents per mile you're getting less than what you're worth my friend, trust me. I have my first driver that graduated the training program here that made 3000 short of 6 figures his first year! I have all of my contact information on my UA-cam page and I'd love to talk with you because I could tell you stories of my experiences with them over the almost 2 years driving for them, and they weren't pretty. But any company that will put a guy with 6 months experience as a trainer has no consideration for safety, because I recommend 5 years before you become a trainer, and even then you're always learning. I hope to hear from you, because I feel your trainer failed you in a way because most of us know that most Walmarts don't allow parking overnight anymore due to drivers who littered their lots with piss bottles and trash. Oh and my company pays $30 for us to go to a truck wash to get our trucks washed. Keep the shiny side up and get in touch!
@@Willy_On_Wheels no just a driver that doesn't like to see other people screwed and actually cares about safety and not having inexperienced trainers. I still currently drive and I'm far from a recruiter 😂
@@Willy_On_Wheels we have a waiting list for drivers at my company. If I were to recruit someone it would take weeks if not months before they got into a truck so I'm not saying my company is the right fit, I'm just saying there's plenty of better companies than what Rick Roehl has driven into the ground. Everett would have been ashamed if he saw what it turned into.
@@JJDrones That’s disappointing to hear. I’m supposed to be going to Roehl gycdl program next month. I have no intention to stay there after I complete the contract though. @hotdamn1115 Thank you for the kind words.and it's my pleasure 🙏 They pay for your hotel, breakfast and lunch. Once you get out on your own, you should average around $800-1200 per weak, depending on whether you are flatbed, van, reefer and regional or national.

It's truckers fault by throwing pee bottles, poop bags and trash all over the ground.
