You are my hero. I have been sweating wondering about my first time, and you are the first person I found that recommended the eurostar app and you covered everything wonderfully. Thank you.
St Pancras Station is a magnificent piece of engineering as well as architecture. Built in the early 1860s it was typical Victorian grandeur and the iron arches were the largest cast at the time at 245 feet. Where you queued for your customs and passes was originally a freight depot and especially for beer from Burton so the supporting iron columns in what was called 'the undercroft' were set at 14 feet between them being the size of multiple beer barrels.
They asked you to check in 45 minutes atleast before departure , on the English side ? Really ? I'm stunned . Someone corrects me from wrong but on the French side there is none of it. These people are just killing the HS train with that sort of airline requirements, it's ridiculous.
On the French side too it’s usually 45-60 minutes for Eurostar to London due to security requirements and dual passport control (leaving Schengen and entering UK)
I don't know why people care about the size of the hotel rooms in Europe. The intention is a safe place to sleep and secure some of your stuff. Not to live in the room.
Hi, I traveled on it in 1995 4 times first class , from Waterloo no HS1 in those days unfortunately, great food we had Dover soul , and champagne until it came out my ears lol , anyway I see you had a good time. Regards JH
Hi Travel Family, Im slated to travel on the Eurostar to Paris in early September, looking forward to it. Unlike in Canada or USA for that matter, the european know how to make train travel between destinations that are less than 4 to 6 hours attractive. No need for airport hassles and so on. The following day I am on the Trenitalia Frecciorossa 1000 from Paris to Milan for my birthday definitely looking forward to it. Oh, Im staying overnight at the St Pancras Reniassance hotel which is next door.
Sounds like an amazing trip! We rode Trenitalia while in Italy also and enjoyed the experience. You're right, the trains are so convenient and usually easier than flying on those shorter trips! Happy travels and Happy Birthday!
@@AmericanTravelFamily Where did you all stay while in London? I picked St Pancrase Renaissance due to being next door. Your dollar is doing quite well against the Euro unlike ours.
You all have so much fun together. Great to see and makes me really miss the days of my family getting together and having fun. Merry Christmas to you all!!
No Harry potter is at king's cross station. Next to the magnificent st. Pancras railway station. Picture they never showed you the architecture of the st. Pancras station outside it's beautiful and inside.
Thank you for such awesome content! Going stop in London & Paris on our Portugal/Spain/Switzerland trip after watching your segments. Taking the train now too! Be well!
You have seriously eased my anxiety. My gf and I will be taking a trip soon and it’ll be our first time going from london to France. Thanks so much. Do the Uber drivers in French speak any English or are there certain phrases we definitely need to know?
Me and my mom went on Eurostar from London to Paris in standard. It wasnt bad since we both got food before we got on train. Then we did Paris to Amsterdam on Eurostar and flew home from Amsterdam.
@AmericanTravelFamily it was a very easy ride. The security and customs were very short, even for standard. The ride itself, I think, was 3 to 4 hours long and went past some nice veiws. Then, before we knew it, we were in Amsterdam. We got some breakfest in Paris station.
You guys are so loud and the way you walked through the coaches… very disrespectfull. Because the train is not bumpy at all. And americans wonder why europeans are annoyed by some american tourists. This is why.
Every time our kids laugh it brings joy to our hearts. So either you don't have kids or surprisingly your kids have never laughed, cried, or screamed in public? There are plenty of stereotypes and criticism to throw out in the world if you're that type of person. But thanks for reminding us how much fun we were having in the moment! Cheers and thanks for watching!
Such a good excuse to be disrespectfull others :)) Basically you dais that you don't care about others, just about you. Very selfish. Americans, who believes that everything is deserved and granted. And usually stereotypes are based on true situation. Usually it is enough 5-10% of people to have a similar behaviour to have a stereotype. In your case, you and your family are in the 5-10% of americans tourists which travel like this, so you are the stereotype. So thanks to you, this stereotype exists and affects good americans who travel respectfully.
You guys are fun. Epic family trip. We love the high speed trains in Europe. Have not been in France or England yet. I started traveling at 4 years old with my dad. We have been to 34 countries now and are planning a 4.5 yr trip around the World with a carbon-neutral footprint. You and your kids will treasure these trips. Cheers! - Bear
Thanks Bear! We grew up traveling as well and want our kids to experience as much as they can in life and continue to seek out adventure as they get older. Your around the world trip sounds amazing!

Wow thanks! Great bit of historical knowledge. It is a beautiful station!
Gare du Nord in Paris is as ugly and depressing as St. Pancras is beautiful. It's a disgrace.
can i buy the ticket physically at station counter?
Yes you can at the Eurostar counter. Just keep in mind, tickets are more expensive the later you buy them.

How did you guys get to the train station from the hard rock ? I have to catch a train by 6am when I go 😬
We Uber'd. But you can also take the Tube if you don't have too much luggage. It's about the same amount of time.
Eurostar is THE way to travel between London and Paris but it isn’t the cheapest. But bear in mind it is city centre to city centre.
Yes the convenience of city to city center was a plus. Just like anything, the earlier you buy your tickets the cheaper they. are we found.
Is not "customs", is "immigration"
Thank you for your information, it will be very helpful for my next trip! Greetings from Colombia!
Our pleasure! Enjoy your travels and Noche Buena!
Thanks for the great info. We were quoted £100 plus for the upgrade😢 Thanks for sharing 😊
Sorry to hear, I think maybe it depends on how early you book?
Hi, I traveled on it in 1995 4 times first class , from Waterloo no HS1 in those days unfortunately, great food we had Dover soul , and champagne until it came out my ears lol , anyway I see you had a good time. Regards JH
Our entire family loves traveling on the trains in Europe! Always fun, especially with champagne!
Hi, do u know is there quarantine check for China passenger/Hong Kong passengers (48 PCR test) in King Cross station border?
The latest I have found as of a last week is there is no mandatory testing. You can get a test if you want voluntarily.
Great video! thank you. We are researching the same trip for this September and wonder what time was your departure so we can gauge arrival time. TIA
We left just after noon and got to Paris with plenty of daylight left. Have a great trip!
Your so right, I live in Devon now and can’t get to London all that often. Regards JH

We stayed near Hyde Park at the Hard Rock Hotel. The Renaissance looks really convenient at the station and a really nice property!
@@AmericanTravelFamily needless to say there is a price to pay for being so close 550 Canadian per night, yikes.
Are seats auto assigned? or I can select where I want to seat?

I was looking for Eurostar videos and I found this one! Question: Where is the video for your Paris suite that you mention at around 13:30?
Sorry. Not out yet. It will be out in next week or two!
@@AmericanTravelFamily Thanks!
How much was the Uber from the train to the hotel. Thanks
You do not mention the "s" when you say Paris
Wow! So cool 😍, I can't wait to visit Paris. Thanks for sharing
You won't be disappointed with Paris! So many amazing things to see! Stay tuned for our videos on Paris and Cannes! Happy Travels!
It would have been nice to see the front of the London station because the architecture is stunning. Very Harry Potter.

Great family!! This was the best video I have seen with detailed info regarding the Eurostar. Thank you !!!
Awesome, thanks for watching! Glad it helped, that's what we like to hear!
That train ride was a lot of fun!
I know I wish we had trains like that i the USA. It's so easy to travel everywhere and its clean.
It's a trip I'm contemplating also thanks for some useful information
Any time!
Did you know it goes through a tunnel under the sea?
Yes, that's pretty amazing!
خیلی خوب بود متشکرم
I would never ever ever get a taxi again..
Yes, most of the trains are so convenient and usually way cheaper!
Ong, they’re too pricey
Question for you guys... did you find Uber easy to use in London & Paris? Were Ubers that much cheaper than cabs?
Yes Ubers were just as easy to use as in the states. As far as cost? Don’t know, we heard sometimes the London black cabs might be cheaper??
You have seriously eased my anxiety. My gf and I will be taking a trip soon and it’ll be our first time going from london to France. Thanks so much. Do the Uber drivers in French speak any English or are there certain phrases we definitely need to know?
They spoke enough English to get us around. Thankfully they have the destination on the app also. Glad this helped. Have a great trip!

@AmericanTravelFamily the best comeback to a very negative comment 😊. Such an informative video. Thanks!
How get from the airport to Paris?
If you're asking about Heathrow airport, you need to take the tube to St Pancras station in central London where you catch the Eurostar to Paris.
