Thank you so much for this video. I realised I was autistic at 36, and have two young children. I had been looking to UA-cam for videos on how to manage overwhelm as a neurodivergent parent and there is very little out there. I feel so overwhelmed at times - I have no family support to help raise my kids, just me and my Husband. So I’ve been having burnouts because I never get a break and I have realised how important my own alone time is to prevent me having meltdowns and burnouts. The more information out there on this kind of stuff, the less people will feel isolated and alone.

So validating as an autistic mom. My one son has asked me before if I was mad at him and I wasn’t. I just looked grumpy and was kind of hiding from the chaos two little boys can make just being children. So loud with hardwood floors, hockey sticks, balls bouncing off walls…. I live in MN and winters can be long and cold so I do let them play like this inside but I find myself getting so overwhelmed and I don’t want my boys to think I’m upset with them cuz I’m not.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I have 2 kids ages 4 & 11. Both ADHD and possibly on the spectrum. I myself have ADHD/autism. I am also homeschooling due to my oldest completely falling through the cracks and we could not get her the help she needed through the school district. I'm finishing my first year homeschooling and feel like a complete failure. My lack of daily motivation and ability to stick to a routine is so bad. My house is also always a wreck and I can't get on top of it + being negatively affected by my environment. Do you have any tips for setting and sticking to a routine as a mom with ADHD/autism? My 4 year old is EXTREMELY demanding of me and her screaming and constant demands make me feel like I'm hanging on by a thread every second of every day. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks

I’m not neurodivergent and the overstimulation with kids is intense! I don’t even know how people with neurodivergent brains do it!

It is so intense! I think it’s just because it is what our normal feels like and especially for late diagnosed adults we feel like this is just how everyone feels lol raising children is a crazy job! It can be overstimulated for everyone!

I’m noticing through homeschooling both my boys are deeply neurodivergent. ❤ okay now to listen to the rest of the video before more comments.

Yes! Seeing my children’s neurodivergence through homeschool is part of what inspired me to look at myself! That is actually a big reason a lot of women are diagnosed. Through first noticing differences in their children.
