Manic Revelations...great title. Riot in the Streets is just what I've been anticipating! Beautiful horn arrangements,harmonica and rhythm section. Lyrics & vocals are very nicely delivered.Can't wait to spin that blue vinyl. Pokey & co. are so refreshing. Thank you for all the great music.
It's awesome to see someone with a retro style comment on current issues as opposed to pretending to be stuck decades ago. Then again, Pokey's always managed to keep the old fresh.

You have to take into account the tons of people who think an artist should stay EXACTLY the same as the one album they liked. They aren't allowed to evolve and grow apparently, and this song is a bit politically charged for us St. Louis folks. Not everyone can handle it.
I dunno.... Will reserve judgment until I hear the rest of the album.
The first Pokey tunes I heard were "Cairo, Illinois" and "Bag of Bones" which blew me right out of my shoes and into the ceiling.
But if "Riot in the Streets" was the first Pokey song I'd ever heard, I woulda said, "nice 60's retro feel, I give it a B or a B plus" and maybe moved on to something else.
