I use the parametric eq in Boss Tone studio to reshape my clean tone. Man what a tool, very useful and probably much more tweakable than any pedal. It's a bit daunting at first but now the clean channel crunches up naturally, better than the crunch channel does
I've used a PQ-4 for a really long time now, such a great pedal. I use it so that it gives my overdrive channel on my Marshall just a bit of more overdrive (obviously it's in how I have things set) and wow, just an awesome pedal
Do you find that the GE-7 produces any noise when it's active? I have an MXR 6-band EQ, and it really moulds my tone quite nicely, but it creates a god-awful hiss as soon as I turn it on.
which is better? Which does more things? Which one can control a wider amount of frequencies? Are there advantages and disadvantages of either one? Are they basically the same circuit, except for the knobs and sliders?
So basicly, the Graphic EQ controls 1 frq, while the Parametric one controls a pile of frequencies around the one chosen, generally this is how guitar amps have their controls set, Parametric lets you single out a certain point of frq's you don't like, or like and let you boost/scoop that area. a graphic let's you, for example, boost the 1000 Hz frq.
Although some cute pedals if you really want a good EQ foot pedal go get the Boss 10-band EQ foot pedal you can program up to 10 let me read the frequencies that you get from low to high 30 60 120 400 800 1.6 k 3.2 k 6.4 k 12.8 k this EQ foot pedal will open up your amp like a can of worms I run mine flat and I use the level as a signal boost an it is my first foot pedal that I run into that pre-post that will affect every foot pedal on the board and make it sounds 10 times better then on my other side I have a clean boost it turns a solid-state amp into a tube amp get the same sound yes I'm a cheap person LOL get the most out of each foot pedal love that foot pedal my boss EQ 20 is the only pedal I really need makes everything sound 10 times better try it
It's really up to each and everyone, he doesn't use the parametric quite right in the video, or to be exact, he doesn't use it in a nice way, a parametric (in my opinion) gives a much smoother EQ than a graphic, unless you have a 15+ graphic. Parametric is simpler, easier to use, sounds better (imo).
Its not about what's best, each has its separate purpose, where one can be more useful for tone shaping; the other to keep certain frequencies under control.
I get that strats are one of the best sounding guitars ever made, but why does this guy always use it for demos like this? It sounds like a cheap plastic-y toy. I don’t understand, you actually have to try to get a bad tone when your using a strat and a good amp like an AC30

youre one of the few youtubers with cool intro music that isnt annoying lol
I had the PQ-4 when it came out, wish i'd kept it, great pedal. I use the half rack RGE-10 in my rig but always keep the GE-7 in my bag for backup.

I'd like to see a comparison of GE7B (Bass EQ) vs. GE7, on guitar.
Did you find the PQ4 had noticeably less noise than GE7?
How would you compare this pedal to the 10 band mxr?
it seems the pq4 is sort of a para-graphic, i couldn't tell if there was a Q adjustment available.
it overkills lot of adjustments… better used to cut something out instead add frequency… especially mid territory and q shape
Great demo. The PQ-4 is a great pedal with more control than the GE-7 and they are expensive now to buy used.
This was really a great demo. Thank you!

get the silver mxr ten band .it's quiet .
Yes it does produce a ton of hiss.
when did these pedals come out? are they both fairly new?
Wich one has less noise?
I play flamenco guitar

PQ can control more wider...

I own a Blackstar HT1. I want a eq control to give a little taste for my amp. Which type you would suggest for me?
I did that and worked out but I also change the speaker with 8", 8ohm Celestion speakers. I saw that thats what I was looking for. :D
which is the best of both?
The Graphic throws you off because it gets boxy if you go over the flat mark
me acabo de comprar el Boss, GE-7 , lo recomiendo es una genialidad
Mar De de veras es tan bueno el GE-7?? por fa quisiera saber si lo recomiendas de verdad byee =)

Great video I have the ge-7 but iv never messed with the pq-4 thats a cool pedal
Get an Analogman GE7 - it is really great!
I have 2 Analogman Modded GE-7. One is in home setup and one Band setup. Someone local to me is selling a Pq-4.
Your wiring reminds me of Physics experiments at school....

You never boosted the highs on the Graphic..........
Gets harsh once the 6.4k starts to get over +5
GE - 7 !!!
ge-7 is noisy. found the cheaper dan electro eq to be far quiter
The G E-7
Boss GE-7 best

One advantage of the graphic EQ is that you can easily memorize the various settings as you tailor the sound(s) you want.

Seems like a B***S**** you don't shown that you are switching from PQ to GE both are red light on
They're both on because they're wired in parallel, not in series. This is a more accurate way of comparing the sounds between them.
Ya massive conspiracy to fake a pedal. You were the target fuck what is he going to do now.
Good job done, 'like your videos ! Plz, try mine !? LES greets ...
