Can I ask a question please? I am curious to know, if I were to install Parrot OS on a USB drive, why would I still need to allocate space on my computer's hard drive? I am a bit confused as to whether all the data for the Parrot OS would be stored entirely on the USB drive or not. Thank you!
You wouldn’t need to allocate space on your system storage if you are creating a persistent storage usb with Parrot OS on it. However that’s a whole separate process. ua-cam.com/video/-Tbob3ecg7Y/v-deo.html

Yeah you can extend the partition so long as the root part is at the end of your disk. You could use a tool like gparted -> ua-cam.com/video/Kyz9x71gEPI/v-deo.html

You're welcome. Depends on the application and what privileges it may need to run, they can be in a variety of place such as /usr/bin or /home//bin. In order to tell where a particular package is installed you can use the which command. For example: which this would give you the location it's being launched from.

Everytime I tried to boot to parrot os, I didnt get the same login screen as you do, instead mine was just Terminal. Did I do something wrong or my system configuration are not optimal? When booting from USB it went into a GRUB terminal (I don't really know what this is tbh) The solution is to re-image the USB in Rufus or whatever software you choose, and selecting DD Disk Image instead of ISO (this option pops up after you hit start) Now when I boot from USB the Parrot installer interface appears as expected :)
@@miah1700 You need to change the boot priority to the GRUB Loader as Savvy said (im not sure if parrot is ubuntu based) but it should show Ubuntu there and thats it you load into the boot menu from GRUB and select which OS you want to use

After some research it seems I need to use the terminal through the USB drive and type 'sudo chroot /mnt' but that gives an error about no ‘/bin/bash’ files being found. Researching that all I can find are several different fixes involving pointing out where my directories are, but... This is straight out of the box, so I have no idea where those directories are atm...

After saving changes in the bios (about 6 mins in) and i try and boot, i get a message that continues to ask if the usb device is bad. I formatted the usb before burning the iso to it.
im using computer all in one lenovo when im install parrot os and done, i dont fine a gnu grub. when finish install and restat my computer alwas runing at windows. never fine menu gnu grub. why pls help me?
Go back into your BIOS and search for the Parrot install as the first thing to boot instead of windows. Also confirm the fast boot / safe boot options are disabled in BIOS

I have 90GB free space on my windows partition, but when I try to shrink it I can only shrink 5gb because of unmovable files. Even when I follow instructions to disable hibernation, paging and protection it only goes up to 11GB. Please help!

After unallocating disk space about 55Gb it saying there is no partition to install in . In welcome menu (Install Parrot)

In the partitions, whichever storage device i select i do not see the unallocated space. I see sda1 and sda2

I have followed every step you did but when I restart there is no other OS aside from Windows.
Did you confirm you have ubuntu as the first to boot in your boot priority? Or that you have secure boot disabled?

How long does the restart after the install take? It’s been almost 10 minutes and I just see the Parrot OS logo.
Typically it's quicker than that. Are you sure it's not waiting for you to hit enter so that you've removed your USB?
