Congratulations, Shoshana, you're doing great! I can definitely see a difference from your first videos. I hope the tummy pain will go away soon, and that you'll start to feel better. Your dog is adorable!
WELCOME to the Loser's Bench!! Congrats. I hope everything continues to go well. :) Great loss!!! Sip, sip, sip, and another sip...keep that water going in! Liquids will get easier and tastes do change after surgery. I'm glad your surgeon found the tear/leak while he was still doing surgery!! I burped so much for weeks after my surgery. It has gotten better but I still burp more than pre=surgery. It hurt a little in the beginning but now it doesn't, just embarrassing. Looking forward to your next update!!
Hey sweets, so great to see you doing well. i stuck with soup as well, and there is no rush to get into food. I agree with you, unless you are desperate, no need for the carbs. However, you get in what you can. Big Hugs, and more liquids!!!
Congrats on your surgery!! I couldn't do cold either. I tried for a while but it would give me a gut ache. Smells, OMG! Smells! Everything was an attack on my nose. I'm glad your doctor found the leak when he did. It would have been terrible to go home with it.
Thanks so much!!! Smells still bother me and I can't get away from them when others are cooking:S. I have given up on cold things other than freezes which I can warm in my mouth lol
ya cream of wheat (or oat bran, which I liked more) is not that bad, you really cannot eat much at all so the carbs are minimal . I think the recipe i used was 1 tbl spoon of the dry with 3 tbl of milk (my food log says 1/2 cup but I might have added on top after), heated in a really tiny pot over lower than normal heat. It's a sad looking amount of food, but feels good (you probalby won't finish it) ask your NUT about carbs, really the first 2 weeks its actually a good idea to eat some. helps with healing and energy. I didn't eat a lot, but stuff like this and regular milk added up to some carbs ... this amount of carbs naturally lowered later on as I was able to eat eggs and meat instead of shakes and creamy stuff. I think Endobariatric did a video on this at some point if you feel like hunting in youtube. yougurt is a major loss, I lived on yogurt! What about vitamins, able to take the chewables (not the iron rich ones, those are nasty)? Maybe try one of those little V8 shots, low sodium for a little kick?
Unfortunately, I have never liked yogurt. the smell makes me nauseous. I tried it again a couple of days ago and it still bothers me. thanks for the suggestion tho!!!
Great update and weight loss!!!
Thanks!!!
