Hector was an awesome tour guide. I did both a historical walking tour and a food tour (where he taught myself and others about coffee). I still have such positive memories of the experience.

Thank you Hector for this glimpse back into the coffee making. I enjoyed the tour back in nov. 2018 with you a lot and to be honest, I had my best ever coffee there! Thanks for the memories and for sharing this high quality video!
All the best from germany 😁

A cool video for sure with great tips, but I was hoping it would be a video about brewing Colombian tinto style coffee

Could you please show how to open 100% Colombian coffee liquid concentrate?. And brew single serve from it?.

Gracias Hector.

perfect! i just got 1 kilo of medium roasted beans from Huila. I first tried a ratio of 60g/L (1:16.667). It didn't bring out those typical Colombian chocolate and fruit flavors that I was expecting. But I'll give Hector's ratio a try, which is 1:12.5 (or 8g/100ml as he said). I've always used Colombian beans for espresso, sometimes mixed with some kind of ethiopian yrgacheffe heirloom or guji heirloom. It's my first time brewing Colombian beans in a pour-over.
what grind size would you recommend for the v60? i use a comandante grinder. I can see that Hector is using boiling hot water. that would mean a finer grind size would be better since the brew time will be sped up by using boiling water. Most v60 recipes recommend 25 to 30 clicks. i'm assuming I need to do 18 clicks only.

Hector! what an amazing video! one can really tell your passion and knowledge about coffee! =) but i knew that already from the food tour my friend anina and i took with you in bogota this january. by the way, that idiot calling you jeff in the botero museum a few days later, that was me. i'm so sorry about that! my mouth was way faster than my brain xD you waved and greeted us anyhow so thanks for that =)
    have a good one!
edit: 4:33 my dad would agree^^ he always complains if you put his coffe in a cold cup^^ allthough in his case it's more of a "if my coffe doesn't burn off my vocalcords, it's not hot enough" type situation xD

Not 4 easy steps. Instructions are too complicated and making coffee shouldn’t be. My wife is Colombian and her and her family’s coffee is the best without being so complicated.
