Your the best I've ever seen .wish I had snow near me to practice, instead of a few days a year in high Europe. I live in ireland unfortunately can't ride rain
Awesome!!!! I follow both SnowboardProCamp AND Ryan Knapton, and it's nice to see you guys on a video together! I'm a 28 year old East Coast Snowboarder, and I've only been out west once! .... Your videos this season has definitely inspired me, and I hope to see you guys out west one day!!! Keep up the awesome vids!
This is one f my favorite snowboard vids now. Music was on key, Ryan has such control, and you capture some of that hike/anticipation part of riding. I'm so stoked for Park City to open this November!
Gotta b some really epic looking still shots in that last run down with the sun directly behind you with all that powder flying!! Absolutely breathtaking
Be still my beating heart! YES!! What a grade A collaboration. Finally! This was really amazing you guys. Thank you!!! P.S. That final run was magic Keven. Unreal with the sun in back of you and all that gorgeous fresh pow.
Good vid! The reason the trees grow at that altitude is because the deep snow acts as an insulator and actually promotes root growth, even in the middle of winter.
Amazing vid, awesome pow! thanks so much for this, Ryan Kanpton is the king of carving, i couldn't stop smiling through the whole thing getting ready for trip to Treble Cone and Cardrona, South Island New Zealand next week, can't wait!
Wud up fellas! Just want to say thanks for all the great tips, have definitely helped me out this season. Finally learned to ride the front edge and start carving all the parks. Such awesome experience to snurf down the mountian!
Sick video as always! Loved seeing Ryan in the video, that guy has some incredible skills. Breck looks so awesome, I can't wait to get out there one day.
It could be type of tree as well as climate. Although Breck may be much higher in elevation temperatures can be more moderate higher up due to the location of the mountains. Whistler is all the way up in Canada so it’s colder at sea level, meaning you don’t need to go as high up to reach those very cold temperatures as harsh climate where it’s unstable for vegetation.👍🏼
Conifers and evergreens go a lot higher in altitude. Past them is conifer bushes that are short in stature. Their leafs are long and pointy and past those is high altitude grass which has blades that look more like long spikes than flat blades. Lowest altitudes you see regular trees bushes and grasses. The transitions are mixed of course. beautiful view!
Latitude makes a big difference for the elevation of tree line. Where I live at 65°N tree line is between 2,000 and 2,500 feet. Tree type and slope direction are also factors.
You guys are spot on with your latitude prediction. Treeline varies with latitude because of the temperature change, places with latitudes closer to the equator and warmer weather have high treelines like at 13,000ft and places with more extreme latitude and cold weather have treeline at like 6,000 feet. Also its sick to see you guys shredding my home mountain, idk how long you are here in Colorado but hopefully I'll see you guys Saturday lmao
The best angles are when your filming downhill getting the scenery in the background as you guys carve the mountain. Those uphill angles aren’t very entertaining to watch. Also the downhill shots give a more first person point of view on how gnarly some of the mountains y’all hit really are. Love the vids keep them coming. They really motivate me to want to hit the slopes so much more
when snow falls - it falls from the sky. the amount of snow that accumulates is all dependent on the environment that you are in. in colorado - we get a lot of snow. there is a lot of moisture that flows through these dry, rocky mountains, and so it falls. the ability for the trees to block the wind is dependent on two things - size and density. we have a lot of very large trees, but they don’t block the wind too well. this is due to the higher elevation; there’s less variance in our weather. it is also dry, because, they are the rockies... snow has a lot harder time melting up here! so it just piles up, and we still snowboard in may - come to colorado - it’s sick
Hell yeah! Great vid, and nice meeting you Kevin! Cya next time!
and we appreciate all of the tips you share!
