    7 months passed, still coming back to this vid for pointers.First time was chopping, this time around for the sake of eq'ing and getting the fuller sound using waveshaper. This is basically a reference video for me at this point hahaha.

    Love that you gave a preview right away so we know what to expect to know by the end of the vid

    Been going between Bizzy B's vids and this one. Bizzy for history and concepts, this for DAW reference. Holy shit man, thank you so much for this. I find myself revisiting every few months.

    Nice! I currently use Renoise to slice my breaks and it can be tedious going back and forward between DAW's. Can't wait to try this out!
    Thanks for the tutorial! :D

    is there a video to show the process of how to get the break properly sliced in Slicex? My slices don't line up properly in the grid lines? Also should the tempo for the break be set in Slicex before dragging to the playlist?

    • @lanmichaelmix2818
      @lanmichaelmix2818 2 роки тому +2

      you should slice it by hand.There are several kick,snare and shuffle you have to identify the tone difference of them.

    Hey you may have noticed when you put the compressor instead on the parallel amen it sound out of phase. To fix this just put a compressor on the original one but make it do nothing. The compressor adds a slight delay unfortunately along with a some other vsts like the limiter.

    10:00 i think that just detune that both pitch and speed so you can archive any kind of effect.

      Its when the beat goes from rolls to smaller divisions,creating glitch or bouncing ball effect?:)

    • @kumodexxx
      @kumodexxx 7 років тому

      You have used this technique in one of your tutorials,creating breakcore drums...

    • @ComposingGloves
      @ComposingGloves  7 років тому

      If I could get an audio example of what you are looking for that would be super helpful, what you are describing sounds like volume gating but I am unsure.

    • @kumodexxx
      @kumodexxx 7 років тому +1

      I meant taking for example snare ,copying it and editing in smaller and smaller resolution to create glitchy rolls and buzzes:)u know?;)

      kumodexxx ohhhh, yes I can do that!

    Hey there, thanks for the tutorial, very helpful stuff! I'm trying to open the small toolbar that you're using by middle clicking and left clicking but it's not doing anything. Do I have to enable it somewhere? Thanks again!

    • @ComposingGloves
      @ComposingGloves  3 роки тому

      I don't think so but the two clicks have to overlap and it has to be done in the playlist or piano roll.

    Can you please show us how to work with vocal chops and pitching them correctly?

    • @ComposingGloves
      @ComposingGloves  7 років тому

      Here is a video I did for vocal chopping, when your in new tone just be sure to pitch the vocal to the key of the song, but I use slicex in the video so if I pitch it to C and then use slide notes it will always be the correct note. =) ua-cam.com/video/UABqg_DO4Pk/v-deo.html

    hi ! whats this called? is this sampling..? altering this part and turning it into something new..?

    • @ComposingGloves
      @ComposingGloves  3 роки тому +1

      When the samplings gets to the point that the sound changes into a new one it is called resampling.

    Hey umm where are the samples again?Could you expand on parallel processing Amen break??Thanks!

    • @ComposingGloves
      @ComposingGloves  6 років тому +1

      You can find the samples here: rhythm-lab.com/ the main idea behind parallel processing is that you will have a "clean" sound on one channel and a very "over the top" sound on the other channel and that you will mix them together. This can be done because perhaps there is a certain texture at a certain overdrive level that is overbearing by itself, or to rain in dynamics or any other host of reasons. Very useful and great for experimenting.

      Thanks alot for the quick reply!I tried it with Amen but one track had no sound ,I ve been able to do it with my own programmed beats.

    I think I'm mainly getting stuck on arrangements. I lose interest after about half the track not knowing what to do next. It's killing my desire to even make music now.

    • @ComposingGloves

      If that is the case then I would try working out sections first. Stuff like an A melody then a B melody, A drums then B drums ect... It can go a huge way as you start to fill stuff in so you don't get hung up after filling in one idea all the way. Helps me tons, Its common in composing to first write out a piano skeleton and then fill it in later.
