Hi Jack!...missed the live but really enjoyed the replay.I remember following Verne Gagne through wrestling magazines. I even had Verne's trading card.🇨🇦
Thank you sir; as I stated in the interview I couldn’t get enough of the AWA on TSN back in the day and when I first went to Vegas was saddened to find The Showboat had been demolished.
Awesome interview. Love Gagne. But, the Road Warriors definitely changed tag team wrestling
I saw Hans Shmidt at the Montreal Forum...Hans wrestled as a German but he was really a French Canadian.Ha!🇨🇦
I knew all the names that he mentioned at the beginning of the interview..the good old days.😀🇨🇦😀
The Crusher came up with the name Weasel for Heenan!
Great interview!
The reason Larry Nelson left had nothing to do with his career, the law was after him (DUI) and he got out of town.
Larry had one of the most unique styles ever for those who remember him lol
@@nogimmicksguy4821my favorite was one match where he kept calling Hawk Animal and Animal Hawk
@@analiysanchez9949 I think you’re thinking of Rod Trongard. He always messed their names up.
His book is good too
How could Greg forget Waylon Jennings. LOL. Being at WrestleRock, I always thought the connection was that the Dukes of Hazzard was on before AWA's weekly Sunday Show, here in the Twin Cities. Waylon, of course, is the singer of the theme song and the narrator. Great interview!!
No Grizzly Adams was on before AWA wrestling on Sundays.
@@jimh.412 You could be right. I do remember watching Grizzly Adams also. I remember it being Grizzly at 9, Dukes at 10 and AWA at 11. A long time ago and I could be misremembering. LOL
@@andrewraboin5300 I think it was Duke's, Grizzly Adams and then AWA but I could be wrong too.😁
AWA was an interesting promotion
It seem like there were great wrestlers in the AWA who did not wrestle in the WWF.
Just when I thought all my bitching would get Greg to stop saying DuPont (Network) instead of DuMont, he did it. He started to say DuPont and finally said it correctly, DuMont. As I take great satisfaction in his finally getting it correct after decades, ten seconds later he says DuPont. You can't win :)
Very much enjoyed this interview despite the tech issues. Greg was very gracious and a great storyteller….
Nice job Jumping Jack
Hi Greg
How much $ did Verne have?
I believe Greg Gagne that Eric Bishoff is a liar
Eric “I don’t remember” Bischoff
@@analiysanchez9949 Eric has great memory when it comes to good things he did but when it paints him in a bad light he doesn't remember or does not recall LOL
Hogan made the AWA
Hogan didn't make the AWA, they did well before and after him until the situation became untenable.
The AWA made Hogan.
@@jimh.412 Greg says a lot of BS but on this he's right. Hulkamania started in the AWA. You only have to look at the footage to see the reactions when he was with Bockwinkel. IIRC Hogan just arrived in the AWA when they had a group of wrestlers appear on the Phil Donahue Show. Did Hulk get over with the crowd, nope, but guess who was over like Rover with the female audience, Greg Gagne.
Hogan put the Gagne's on the map
Lol nooo Hogan did not make AWA 😂
We gonna hear Greg talk about bringing hogan to wcw, coming up with the idea of Monday nitro, firing Vader, coming up with the nwo idea, coming up with dx, creating the brood, discovering Goldberg, creating the shield, signing curt angle, driving Brody to the hospital in Puerto Rico, convincing cena not to turn heel, convincing stone cold to come back to wrestlemania for one more match with Kevin Owens, making peace between cm punk and triple h, sending bischoff home in 99, and bischoff making him sign a contract with a gun to his head???
