True! But in the west bottoms, especially at Blip, you can find yourself “trapped” if the stop the east/west freight trains to let the north/south by. Literally like 45 minutes!! It’s crazy because that area is really developing.
My brother and I used to watch your moto Mondays to bond with each other about 6 years ago. My brother and I are very close now and I owe part of that to you. You also introduced me to motorcycles. I’ve managed to convince my soon to be fiancé to let me get one. You’re the only UA-camr who consistently makes me laugh out loud.

Have had my bike for roughly 3 months now, i watched you when i was about 13 (now 19) and you made me want a bike for my first vehicle. I am so happy to still be moved by 2 wheels how much i still love watching you♥️
Hi Walter! You and I played through the H3 campaign. I just took a drive through Silverton and Red Mountain Pass. Its the southwest side of Colorado. If you ever get the chance, its breathtaking. :) Love the videos as always. Much love!
FWIW, I don't like running low pressures because I think tire carcasses are more resilient when fully inflated, against both punctures and pinch-flats. I do medium-hard enduro (singletrack) on rimlocks and heavy duty tubes at full pressure (bike manual) and it's all good. Most guys use mousse or tubliss for sharp rocks but it's a trade-off because the knobbies aren't as stiff (erect?) at lower pressure and the tire deforms so much that it makes the bike feel slow, plus it puts the rim closer to the sharp ledges and more likely to damage the rim or bead. Without mousse, tubliss, or hd tubes + rimlocks, if you run low pressure to get more surface area over a ledge, you're more likely to spin the tire on the rim and rip off the valve stem, then you may be well and truly fookt if you aren't prepared for that with a backup tube, spoons, and a pump. For endless shallow sand, sure, lower pressure. But then you have to air them back up, so you have to plan for that. For normal gravel roads and all the way up to sorta-hard enduro, not worth it, imo. I guess it depends how far you're going to be from help or your truck and whether you want to take the risk of hurting a rim and having that extra expense on the rare occasion something bad happens. For me it's rare enough I just don't care. And I've ridden out on a low tire and ruined the tire but didn't hurt the rim because I was careful enough. For dual-sporting, I'd just run full pressure and not go anywhere too gnarly, to make sure you can make it all the way back home.

So many brick buildings. My Waze used to keep the notices on the screen but they don't anymore; they go away once it expires such as the railroad track one. Maybe check and see if your app is up to date.
I'm kind of a GS hater, it's a really good bike but I kinda love doing proper adventures on improper bikes. It makes things interesting. The GS is incredible because given the right skill level it'll do anything. But there's also something special about doing a long trip on something like a honda c90 or an electric motorcycle. Recently somebody did the IDBDR on a grom. I recognize how good of a bike the GS is, but I love seeing people do trips on anything other than a GS. It's had the spotlight for a long time, and they're just so expensive. Also my opinion on airing down my tires is that I don't really do it or maybe I'll do it a little bit but not much. Maybe I'm just not good enough to notice a difference. But I am kind of terrified of pinch flats and my trusty DR650 has tubes. It's very rare to get a pinch flat if you have heavy duty tubes and you don't lower the pressure by a lot. I just did section 2 and part of section 3 of the IDBDR and I did not air down my tires. Heading back to pick up where I left off tomorrow.
This might be a dumb question, being you are going to take that bike on a long road trip is there maybe you could mount a solar panel on the bike to maintain a charge. Just thinking.
