Thank you. I'm making a barrel right now snd thanks to you're videos I'm doing it. I've routered my pieces snd have it pulled together, now I'm getting ready to winch it. How long do you soak the wood, if at all? I'm looking for the steel to make the hoops.
Thank you!!! The barrel can be steamed in a suitable container for 5-7 minutes... Or heated over a fire, periodically pouring water over the barrel... The hoops must be riveted on one side with a hammer so that they take the shape of a cone...

Thank you!!! The angle of the side face of the stave depends on the number of staves in the barrel. The angle can be calculated using the formula: 360/N/2, where N is the number of staves in the barrel. In this barrel I use 15 staves, (15 cl - abbreviated staves in Ukrainian) respectively 360/15/2=12 degrees. Each riveting on both sides is cut at an angle of 12 degrees.
That is amazing! Thank you for sharing your process, I've always wanted to make one of these and after this you've given me enough info to try it out!
Thank you very much!!! I am very glad that you liked and found my video useful...

How much does one of these cost in the United States?
Such a wooden barrel costs about $30 in Ukraine...
So about 130 USD
I wish I was a fancy importer guy. Alas I am a poor carpenter. Not everyone in the US is rich.
