    She smiles when she becomes uncomfortable and laughs too... it's a strange habit that I have as well... when something happens that makes me too uncomfortable, like if someone asks me a painful question or something horrible happens, I start smiling and laughing. I can't help it, it's a reaction.

    I think also what she means by "Lost Her Youth" was that she had to deal with something like death as a young child which made her grow-up and become more mature for her age back then.

    I can really feel what Amy went through I feel really sorry for her. She always pretended like she was happy when she wasn't.

      yes but more importantly we are very lucky she gives to this world. her vocals have something that stands out from allot of other vocals in my opinion. i remember when i first heard her singing i was blown away by the depth. i cant explain but when you really listen you can sense something its like you connect and understand that this isnt just another voice she means and goes deeply trough the experience. for fallen songs when i relisten them for nostalgia when i really listen to vocals and sit calmly i feel connection. it comes from heart and soul and experience. and i think that separates good art from amazing art. her gift surely lives on and on. i can listen again her songs and its like time hasnt passed. for great music dont matter what year it is.

    As Amy said, she was forced to grow up too young and I think that Evanescence is brilliant for her just for the simple fact that that has happened to her and that her unnecessary feelings have become beautiful pieces of music must be a great accomplishment for her and youth because even things like that deserve a happy ending :)

    She can smile because she uses the art of music the right way. As an outlet, as a hobby, and as something you just love to do. She expresses her deepest inner-most feelings to us, and she gets all her hurt out. She has such passion for what she does. And all of this allows her to reflect and work through her hardships. I never lost my sibling or anything like that, but I can asscociate with what she's saying. I've always felt quite a bit older than my age, and people often tell me I look/act older. I don't want to sound big-headed, but when I'm around most 16 year olds I just think "man you're so immature, just grow up!" lol ... I love expressing myself through music, it's such a beautiful and effective way of releasing negative feelings, and it's helped me get over very difficult things.

And I only based my opinion in that comment of mine off of what other people have said about the lyrics in that song. I then put together the song and eventually concluded that it was about something close to rape, whether it was about Amy or not. Thanks for the info(:

    Anyone who has experienced a tragedy as a young child will tell you that it does cause you to age(mentally) very quickly and that's not something you ever loose. She can smile about it because she's had years to accept it. I'm 19, I know I'm highly likely to die in my 30's(heart disease), I've faced death three times, I've been abused, raped, and mocked. My mother abused me for 16 years. I never was a child, but I can openly say all this because I've lived for so long with this as my reality.

    • @CynammonStreetGurl
      @CynammonStreetGurl 9 років тому +4

      Growling up in a specific apart the world has nothing to do with being a child. If it hadn't happened in Canada, it would have happened in Europe. Where the hell did you grow up, under a rock? We all face tribulations and traumas which make us who we are. The traumatized know they will survive. They carry themselves much differently than those who have been sheltered from the world. For me I looked at the world much differently after my trauma then I did before. Had it not happened, I would have believed all the bullshit Disney tries to tell you. Being a survivor is maturity.

      Congratulations, and welcome to reality. You experienced a little thing some of us refer to as life. It hurts, it's hard, you go on. It in no way makes a child grown, or an adult special. First worlders have it easier than at any time in history, and all you can do is cry. Every little girl is a princess, and if she's not she's pissed at the world. You people need to read about the lives of princesses and realize even they don't live the good fairy tell life that Disney portrays. You went through something, Guess what, we all did! We all did. That's life!

    • @loganroettger1491
      @loganroettger1491 9 років тому +7

      David Hennigan Trying to say that one can't feel sad because someone in the world has it worse than them simply makes the problem worse. Just because someone lives in the first world, doesn't mean they aren't allowed to be sad, or be traumatized by something. There are very different lifestyles, and each different lifestyle has different things that are traumatizing to them. Sure, children in Africa are accustomed to starvation and murder going on in their daily life, but they would still be traumatized if their sister died. Where you come from makes no difference. Certain things are traumatizing to all well-minded human beings. Stating that coming from somewhere better off means you shouldn't be allowed to be sad or traumatized is ignorant.

    • @DavidHennigan1971
      @DavidHennigan1971 9 років тому +1

      I never said that anyone couldn't be sad or traumatized. What I said was that every kid you talk to thinks they can empathize, they all believe they had something happen to them that made them grow up too fast, because they all believe they are too old for their age. What I said was that we all, ALL, go through things. That's called life. The problem is everyone thinks it's supposed to be better than that, and they were unique in getting a raw deal, and that's just not the case. The reality is it's hard on damn near everyone. We all have it hard. Even the princesses in their castles, they grow up to behead their own sisters, ask Mary, Queen of the Scots. The fairy tale world in which they live happily ever after doesn't exist, or if it does, then THAT is a unique case. As soon as people realize that life is going to be hard and stop believing they are entitled to this fairy tale then they can stop believing that life is somehow screwing just them, and they can start dealing with reality. It's impossible to find peace when you believe that somehow you are unique in being in the universe's crapper, "Why me?" I only point out the problems of third Worlders to try to put things in perspective. First Worlders can have serious problems too. My own philosophy is, as long as I'm living a better life than Joseph Merrick, then I don't have a right to complain, especially when you consider that, by all accounts, he didn't. research his life, then come on here and complain about yours.

    I feel what Amy went through. How can she be smiling through this?

    It's hard to talk about such things. I think that she was laughing because she didn't feel comfortable talking about it; or at least it's something I do when I feel uncomfortable.

    Haunted is about a story Ben wrote. By "raping" they mean raping the girl in the story's mind. "This thing that keeps her here, this person that repeatedly rapes her mind and watches her when she sleeps, has become her only friend."

    Her eyes look so hollow when she 'smiles' @0:21. You can tell her smile is fake because you can't see her adorable dimples :(
