I had the 'itch' to play for a while now but purposely put it down to wait for 1.0, even without finishing gloomroot when that got released. All the new stuff definitely makes it seem worth it. As a veteran the new gameplay content looks cool but that's almost a given, all the new customization and QoL updates stand out the most for sure.

Saw a video few months back that brought up problems with how linier the game was; you Have to beat all the V bloods and that unlocks all the magic, and there was no variety in the armor sets, there's always one set that is objectively the best as all armor do the same thing. The 1.0 page said they changed how you get magic, and that different armor will now effect different styles of play.

Only "survival" game with good progression. Actually plays like an Action RPG. I loved every second of it when it was in Gloomroot. Absolute blast 4 player co-op

I spent over 150h on the EA back then, and it was already extremely good. The private PvP servers with special rules were especially fun (combat system is excellent)
Can't wait to get back to it when I find some time.
I am definitely one of the true fan of VRising. I was so amazed with the 1.0 version, especially the storage and production enhancement.I love the castel relocation link. It truly helps a lot in categorizing all the salvaged materials and made it easy for production and all the relocation hassels. However, if the developer can make somewhat a "link" (if you have played enshrouded, you will know what i mean), you can simply walk to the furnace or the woodmill without picking up the salvage materials from the storage cabinet and produce directly, it would be fun! Anyway Thanks Codiak, is indeed a fabulous recommendation. It was a money worth game i have played so far.

As of release we got official steam controller support
There’s no story as of now idk if they even planned one.
You can play both PvP or PVE, public or private solo/with friends
If you play public PvP/PvE theres rules to each server so i suggest choose well and yes there is server wipes like rust
If you play on Private solo/co-op you could customize almost everything in the game or even disable on some like building decay rate, equipment dutability, all the debuff ingame you can make it very building centric by unlocking everything IN the server setting. Or made it PvE Centric by buffing enemy health and attack. Its all yours to edit to your liking.

I struggle to go through the grind. Friends don't hop on when I do most of the time. Resets kill me
its a great game to transition from Enshrouded or the other way around, it's a big dubs how ARPG element is implemented well; if you're are itchin for combat? there's ARPG. want a breather and still get the sense of progress? survival crafting.

Huge fan of V Rising, played over 500 hours and beaten pre1.0 with every weapon (10+ full playthroughs), and the one slight weakness I'd say is with ranged. This game is designed around melee or mid-to-short range combat, so being all ranged (especially if you're using skeletons) the game becomes far too easy. Other than that, looking forward to putting another 500 hours in and loving most all of the changes so far.
I play on pve on brutal and I was disappointed when in late game I couldn’t see on the map if anyone else had shards like we used to in the previous version. It was the game in itself to collect all the shards first and flex that you have them. Now you just don’t know if anyone else killed Adam or Dracula unless you look at their level or go to their castle. Maybe I just don’t know how, but if someone knows, please let me know.
Relaxed mode, PvE, solo and handheld for the win!

Disappointed they still haven't added NPC's being able to raid your castle . It's the 2nd most requested feature since EA. It would make both PVP and PVE even more fun.

There's another game that's almost like this. it's called Kind of reminds me of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt. Sadly the Studio stopped development last year. But the servers are still up. It's also free, the game no longer uses real money. It has an unfinished crossplay though so PS5 can only team up with PS5 and PC can only team up with PC. It's also a BR

Just a tip for people who want to try this mod: you can't use it on official servers. Also, severely gimps you in PvP.
You mean the camera location? Yeah for modern gamers it’ll gonna looks weird they went for torchlight, diablo series Thankfully there’s that mod to change it if you want.
But i suggest try the vanilla first because the world is GORGEOUS even from this angle and you’ll have advantage in fight because in that camera prespective you’ll able to see if anyone want to attack from behind.

I am not a fan of survival base building games. But I do love Vampires and gothic bloody epic storytelling. So Is the game heavily MMO/Co op based or is the story focus so great that I can play it as an open world action story driven experience?
There's little to no story, it's just base building, boss fighting, and exploring/looting. You're just a BA vampire rising up in the world, and eventually challenge Dracula. That's it. I absolutely love the game, but a story driven experience, it is not.
For the record of people who hates grinding to build castle i suggest try in private server and look at the customization in the server setting because you can really make it creative mode if you’d like.
Me and my friend using custom server setting that basically almost eliminates base grinding n equipment crafting waiting time. But we made the enemy had double health + damage theres absolute freedom if you host your own server
Note : after you made the custom setting on a server you wouldn’t be able to change it (atleast we can’t pre 1.0 i didn’t play the release build because waiting for my friends) so think it through.

Good question. There's a game similar to this but it's a BR. It's called Vampire the Masquerade Bloodhunt it's free to play on PS5 but it's one of those games that no one knew about. The game doesn't use real money anymore but it has a free battlepass. The cosplay wasn't finished, PS5 can only team up with PS5 and PC and can only team up with PC.
I'm stuck at gear lvl 17 and I haven't a clue how to progress further.
Hunt bosses - they unlock new crafting / refining stations, craft better gear.

Are most of the changes post-gloomrot? I want to replay the game but playing through 1-Gloomrot content for a third time feels like it wont be super fun for another year or two
They added a new region, to new weapon types, a bunch of new bosses, new spells for each school, and overhauled how the magic system progresses.

im having trouble loading a saved game, in the load screen i cant check the LAN option and i needed it to start the game? cans someone explain this? it's for PVE, i just wanna play alone and load my game
I don't think you'll be able to load saves from before the 1.0 release.
Saves before 1.0 are obsolete

No Rest for the Wicked is early access with not much available yet. This is 1.0 and a finished product. I'd wait to play NRftW until it's a lot farther along.

Is there a constant need to use that resource from keeping your build from disappearing? I hated that if I logged off for a while, my castle would disappear. Not a good system for people that have responsibilities. I refunded because of that.
Just blood, but you get so much blood by just doing things.
I don't exactly know how you usually play these games (private or public servers, solo/group etc), but if you just play by yourself or with friends on your own server, they offer a wealth of options to change before you start a game.
I also dislike that feature, so I actually just turned the decay off completely. To be fair, even if you find a custom public server where the decay is halved, it would take many weeks or months to even start decaying if you just stack it with the easily obtainable blood.
@@blacetv5522 I played it on a public server back when it hit early access so I didn't know you could turn it off. Is it as much fun playing alone though? It feels like it's meant to be played multiplayer with pvp and raiding. I don't know why they didn't design a system like Fallout 76’s camp building system. If you are saying you can turn it off then I might buy and give it ago again but may wait until it hits Playstation, I don't know.
@@crimson9179 Yeah you're right it's the most fun with friends, but even then me and my group are more PVE oriented and just view it as an arpg diablo like with survival and base build elements. Still fun for us. And when I play solo I just spend a lot of time decorating my castle, very chill for me.
The lack of end game in the beginning did make it so that after having beaten all the bosses, there wasn't really any point to keep going, but that's changed a bit now with 1.0's new zone and events, and the slightly randomized loot.
And after all, for the price I paid when it was early access I've had my moneys worth and then some, even after just 1 full playthrough and a little bit of gloomrot.
They have to have that system because each server only has a limited number of places for people to build. If your castle didn't eventually decay after you stopped playing, PVE and no-raid servers would be too full of unused castles for new players to build.

Yes but you could host your own server easily i mean EASILY just like 1 or 2 button clicks and customizing the server setting is very easy as well there’s preset or more advanced one to be more detailed

You can play “offline” by just using private server. Its hosted on your pc and no one can join without your permission
It'd be cool if the devs add in the ability to play as other factions like humans. They did add in Simon Belmont after all...
Can i play this game solo offline?
Yes! Playing offline also lets you customize a whole lot of game settings such as the difficulty and speed of crafting and gathering etc.
Edit: I realise now that offline and private can be 2 different things with games, but still, this game was always playable offline.

Yep u can, u run your own server and can set it for solo play and can edit resource generation and almost every other aspect of the game
@@mmoses2000 yeah but dont make the game to easy because that makes it boring and not much fun to play, keep some of the challenge like the sun/silver/poison damage. I shut those of and together with my 2 hit kill it made the game way to easy. im just going with the relaxed game settings for my next solo game. That way i can keep some difficulty while keeping things managable for a casual gamer like me.
I've been watching this one for quite a while and unfortunately, the price hasn't dropped low enough for me to care at a period in time where there wasn't something more pressing to pick up, and now they've increased the price, nah... I think I'mma wait until I can get the full game and all dlc for less than $40 because of the curse of early access. What I mean by the curse of early access is that it doesn't matter how much value you add after the initial launch, no one will be willing to pay an increased price at full release. On top of this, releasing dlc prior to 1.0 shows poor money management which will further drive away sales... yeah, I respect the game is good and that's why I want it... but this price for a game that's been playable for 2 years...? nope... they're crazy... Oh, and before anyone thinks me a hypocrite, I don't like that 7 days to die is pulling this crap too... the only reason I have that one is because it's been in several humble bundles before launch. The only benefit to 7 days to die is they didn't release dlc prior to 1.0.
The games lowest price on steam was 16€/$ during multiple sales, I'm sorry but if you aren't even willing to fork up that much for a game that is actually good vs the countless soulless live service games that are actual pure money milking machines then I don't know what would entice you.
Besides steam I recently bought a couple of keys for V Rising for my friends 10$ each from a 3rd party seller (legitimate business).
The DLC is all cosmetic, the game is rewarding and full enough to absolutely ignore them and have a great time with or without friends.

I went to the Haunted Iron Mine on a PvP server and I was greeted by two other players who were running away from mine, both with 1%hp left and on fire, screaming in proximity chat PLEASE DON'T KILL US!!!! While being chased by a French lady shouting BLESS THIS SHOT!
I love this game. And for the record I couldn't bring myself to kill those two players I was laughing so hard. But now I feel like I should have cause those fuckers got out with ALL THE DAMN IRON.

Idk why it’s not coming to Xbox. Especially, for a small studio not playing the complete field of console world. But hey, their loss in revenue & players.
It's a small indie studio and you have to develop for each console, which is a huge task for a small team. I'm sure Sony approached them with funding to do a version for PS5 which will also be their first time making a console compatible game.
I just have an issue with a game that has multiple paid DLCs before v1.0
If I bought the whole thing now, it would cost me $84, and that is steep.. even for a brand new AAA title.
Glad it's good though, and will keep an eye on it during the winter sale.

i hate pvp in games like this & i come from planetside1/2 a pvp only game V rising pvp will be a griefer troll fest some max lvls will crush u and your bace like a bug & steal your crap or camp the bosses to u cant progress this is not my first rodeo in survival games trying to do pvp i refuse to do it. if they a zone or arena then i might but not like thiss all go play a real pvp game but hav fun getting ganked in the middle of your boss fights
You could play PvE privately or on a public server (doubt it gonna last tho because people likes competition)
