The Detect-Ed beach sand scoop is the product of this experience at the beach.
If you want to find more treasure when detecting at the beach then a fast and efficient beach scoop is absolutely essential! By removing unnecessary material and utilizing a 100% carbon fibre handle, we have made the Detect-Ed Beach Sand scoop the lowest-weight scoop in its class. With excellent balance and minimal weight, it is now possible to dig faster and go detecting for longer.
Digging through dry sand is no problem for any beach scoop, digging through wet sand is more difficult but also doable for most scoops. When the storms and low tides hit the beach and remove most of the sand, the conditions become much more challenging, yet this is when you REALLY need your scoop to work well for you.
As well as keeping the overall weight down, at Detect-Ed, we have made three significant changes to this scoop over traditional metal-detecting beach scoops. These changes have been necessary to keep up with the performance/depth of modern metal detectors!

I'm based in Queensland and thinking of buying this or the SITO. This presentation of the features and benefits of the Detect-Ed scoop is excellent. However, disappointing to see that they do not appear to be bothering to answer questions asked in the comments section. Come on guys! Lift your game and capitalize on the interest.
That's the nicest looking scoop I've ever seen but shipping to USA is about $50. Get them to the stores here so we can save some money on shipping cost.

I am buying one. I live in the U.S. in the PNW. Our high mountain lakes have beaches but not fine sand. Course sand and rocks. The beaches are very active. I need another version of this with a scoop handle when I am snorkeling with my Equinox 800
Great design its obvious that quite a bit of thought went into this design..ill be saving up for this one for sure..
Still waiting for my scoop. It's been 9 days since shipping out of Australia, hasn't cleared yet in NYC. None to be found stateside yet, who knows what the future holds. It looks to be the solution for our Florida beaches, and I like the rivet, weld design. I weld, so repairs should they be needed would be a cinch. I like the idea of 2MM thick stainless and with 304 stainless it's important to rinse off your scoop with fresh water after a session of saltwater use (longevity). It looks to have been engineered very well, can't wait to start use.

Calapsable handle to fit into suitcase would be super.
