Exploring the Historical Sille Village Konya Turkey 4K 2023

#Sille District, a 5,000-year-old historical settlement in #Konya Selçuklu district, is mentioned in historical sources as an important center of the early Christian period, where different cultures lived together.
The Aya Elena Church, whose walls and windows are made of Roman materials, draws attention with its architecture, which was built by Helena, the mother of the Byzantine Emperor Constantin, in 327 AD, influenced by the carved temples of the first Christian period.
There are also Turkish-Islamic artifacts such as mosques, baths, fountains and bridges from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods in Sille.
The mihrab, pulpit and pulpit of the Sille Çay Mosque, which was built in the 19th century in the historical quarter, are the most beautiful examples of rich woodwork. The Karataş Mosque, whose exact year of construction is unknown and built of rubble stone, attracts attention with its rich wooden decorations like other Sille mosques.
