This will be my first time fasting during Ramadan. My friend says I should take it slow and only fast a short amount each day and then build up until I can fast a whole day. But I desire so much to fast the full days the whole month because my life has been changed recently and I am hungry to learn and following the ways of Allah taught to us by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. I am very nervous that I will not be able to fast. I have never done this before. How should I make intention?
Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Very clear explanation! Barakallahu feek. A question though: How to make intention for missed days of ramadan? For example: I intent to fast my 3 missed days consecutively. Do I have to make intention every day? And what is enough for an intention? Is a thought like "Okay Im fasting my 2nd day now, tomorrow will be the 3rd" enough as intention? Jazakallahu khairan❤
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh Thank you for your comment. Yes you can make Niya (intention) for anything in your language in your heart no need to say it from your tongue.
This is in the case that if ramzan started and a person woke up at Duhr and did not think about fasting that day, then his fast for that day would not be accepted. Dr Zakir Naik has a video on this, you can watch it for more clarity. jazakAllah
As salam wa aliakum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuh Thank you for your comment Here is the reference 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him), reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration will be for Allah and His Messenger; and whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration would be for what he emigrated for". Thank you for your comment.

I didn’t specifically said anything before Ramadan because I knew I would fast. Is my fast valid?
It is valid Inshallah
its valid...because you 'knew' you would fast and this is considered your intention..
2024 ❤❤
