The washer looks good!
My grandma washed a load of laundry, would put it through the wringer, drain the dirty soapy water then refill with clean water to rinse the clothes, then the wringer again.
She used the washer to agitate to rinse instead of in the tub by hand, if that makes sense.
I miss using our old Maytag wringer washer when I was kid. I loved doing the laundry!

You did a great job refinishing that machine! I used Top Coat marine paint to refinish my bathtub and it looked great, not sure what kind of paint you used but the machine looks awesome. I'm amazed at how many of those wringer machines are still out there!

That washer is awesome! I'm totally going to date myself, but it reminds me of the washer my mom's m used while growing up. Our washer had a floor pedal that operated the wringer. The pedal eventually died from overuse (my poor mom did laundry for our family of 12). I have 7 sisters and 2 brothers. Once the wringer died we had to wrong the clothes by hand and hang it outside on clothes lines. Believe it or not, those were the good old days. I will never forget the refreshing smell of freshly line dried bed sheets. No fabric softener sheets can capture the sweet smell of the outdoors! Thanks for sharing!

The washer came out absolutely amazing 😉. I remember as a child and my grandmother used to let the water run into the yard from the washer and there’s always bubbles to run around and Pop, we couldn’t wait for the next load so we could play with the bubbles and in the mud puddles.

I can remember using one of these. I used lye soap and to tell you the truth it’s work, but my clothes have never been as clean. You found a great find.
Many others have also said no modern washer can clean like a wringer washer. So far I think it is doing an amazing job cleaning the clothes!

Thank you! When we go to our Amish friends house I see them using theirs and loved it. I've also always heard that a wringer washer cleans clothes better than a modern day washer so ultimately that's why I chose to go with it.

Where did you get those galvanized rinse tubs?
I got them at Walmart.
Momma used one on the front porch for a while. Be really careful about getting anything in that ringer. Don’t let your hair, hand or a loose shirt you’re wearing get caught in it…
I’ve heard so many horror stories about what has happened to people that got caught in the wringer. I try to be as safe as possible when I use it and not get my fingers close.
