I had a MV Airo 2 fitted last February, just before the lockdown, which works really well. This was fitted under the van with the air intake in the driver's side door footwell. As well as for camping, the heater has great advantages for days out. Last week we were out on a walk on Exmoor and after a thorough soaking during a sudden cloudburst we were glad to get back to the van and put the heater on. Nice and toastie having our brew and lunch. Can't beat it!!
Hi. Eberspacher are the best, been used in trucks for many years. Well cooky ! Enough to dry a soaked jacket for the morning ! Only thing it does dry the air in the vehicle !
Great vid Tom... We had a Eberspacher fitted last year, there a great piece of kit. I work for the Ambulance service and all there trucks are fitted with Eberspachers... As long as you maintain them all the year round they'll run for ever. worth every penny. Great Questions too you asked Tom..
So pleased for you Tom, Brooke & Thor... I’m sure it’s going to make a big difference to your camping experience! Many thanks for sharing the information. 😊😊🐶
We had a planar heater fitted last September it certainly helps to warm the van up the mornings change from cold to cosy, also great for defrosting the VW during cold winter periods. You have a silencer fitted as well which is a must in my opinion. The cost Tom mentioned is very reasonable for the work carried out, if you calculate that over the lifetime of van usage it's a bargain long term. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and hope we can all get out and about in 2021 clocking up the miles venturing to new places. :-)
Glad you got your heater fitted, looking at getting one myself for my van. I'm told some can be a bit noisy when operating, is yours okay at being quiet. Also my daughter bought me one of your Dubventure hoodies. I absolutely love it, it's great quality and comfortable to wear. Thanks for putting out great videos. 👍
great vid tom you wont regret that heater bring on the wild camping also when you are wild camping if your concerned about how much charge you have in your leisure battery fit a volt meter so you can keep an eye on it that way if its getting low fire van up and get some charge back into it 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks Tom just over the £1000 money well spent nice and toasty you’ll be able to use the van all year more videos winner for you and us 🏴👍 although the way things are just now it will be Tom and Brooke’s runway sleep over 😷 stay safe guy’s
Great video Tom with good questions to fitter. Hope makes a big difference to van. I’m due mine fitted next month. Expensive but hopefully worth it over time.
Great stuff guys your all set to wild camp now how exciting for u ..the prize is great too thou it would of being more ... we're considering in the future . Take care .
I love this video guys. I'm very happy for you. That opens another world of wild camping and more adventure. Definitely worth paying that money. I thought it was going to cost much more than £1k. Enjoy your new modification🔥🥵. Konrad 🤙🤙🤙
'Another great vid' Tom. 'Good to know it has a safety cut-off feature so you won't be left stranded on the top of a mountain somewhere without fuel. :)
Good video as always Tom👍🏻.......ps you might regret the position of the thermostat! In the long run!,got my Eber thermostat positioned further back for ease of control while in bed & watching Tv.also got a switch in the dashboard to switch the stat on from the cab area which is a simple mod to do.
Great video as always. I can see from the pictures that you have mounted the heater externally with ducting to bring the hot air into the van, but is the air inlet hose (the 2” one, not the little ones for the burner air inlet and exhaust) coming from outside under the van or is this also fed from inside somewhere you didn’t show?
@@dubventures thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware they had a recommended location for it but was sure AJC would do it right - just wondered what that was.
I think you mentioned putting a switch on one of your down lights on a previous video. I have the same problem and would be interested in how you did it? Any advice appreciated Thanks, Mark
Hi Tom, a quick question. Is that little controller a true thermostat that you say set to 21 degrees which will then hit 21 and switch off and then keep switching on and off to maintain the temperature. Or does it simply tell you what temperature the van is and nothing else. I know the cheap Chinese heaters work the second way. Thanks
The temp setting is what the van will stay at. So it cuts off when reached temp. It does go above it initially but that is the sensor on the actual heater is the one that takes the read. Thank you for your comment! 🙌
The next thing to look at changing is to fit a California rear tailgate glass as they are double glazed, no cold spots in the rear after you fit one of those
@@motiv8154 if its the pulse pump, I was going to tell him to hang it off cable ties, as the way its mounted now it will be insanely noisy inside the van. However it could be the new silent one.

Make sure you both have a 2-litre bottle of water by your bedside when using that, the dry heat proper dehydrates you 😊👍
Thank you for your comment! 🙌
I don't have that problem in my 2015 T5.1 California which have a 5Kw heater

Airtronic. 🙂

Does that include the price of the heater

Wer did you get it from m8
The next thing to look at changing is to fit a California rear tailgate glass as they are double glazed, no cold spots in the rear after you fit one of those
Was the double glazed rear window very expensive?
It came fitted to my vehicle as standard as I own a VW California
Does that use the new silent fuel pump? Or does it use the pulse pump? As in you can hear it clicking ?
Thats also something I would like to know? 🤔
@@motiv8154 if its the pulse pump, I was going to tell him to hang it off cable ties, as the way its mounted now it will be insanely noisy inside the van. However it could be the new silent one.
@@FPV-TV419 i reckon in the next video it might be addressed 😊
Just one problem guys, wild camping is ILLEGAL in England, Wales & Northern Ireland!
Not true. The law allows it in some districts. Do your research.
Great video 📹 guys
You do know its Thors heater... ;-)
