    Tell me, if you've already converted the camera to IR, why do you need the IR lights to record? Why not record with just camera? Maybe I'm missing something lol

    • @thehauntedside
      @thehauntedside  3 роки тому

      because the action cams don’t come with and IR light on them. so if you took the IR lens of but didn’t light up the room with IR light it would still be pitch black to the camera.

    Thank you for showing this, and honestly making it a lot easier to follow than other videos I've seen of people doing it. It shocks me that none of these companies already making these just sells them without the filter, bundle it with an infrared light, and make a fair amount more for those that don't want to do this.

    Edit: There seems to be a new model that has a little black cover over the sensor inside the camera instead of on the back on the lense. You just need a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the little black square covering the sensor.
    This is the link for the Geekcam 4k camera I modified in this video.

      The Haunted Side - Paranormal Investigations. Must be selling different cameras with ir filter built into lense. Bought camera and tried to do the trick, but when I unscrewed the lens you can see a different setup on the rear. No more square with filter on it. The link may be faulty now. Anyone else run across this? Can send pics if needed.

      First off, let me thank you for trying to help us out with this. I went back in looking for the "little back cover over the sensor inside the camera". I again unscrewed what I believe you refer to as the lense. Afterwards I looked into the camera and indeed saw a black square covering what I interpret you to mean as the sensor. However could not free it using a needle nose, or a couple other tools I tried. Only succeeded in breaking the square plastic leaving the rest of the sensor. Took a couple of pics but not sure I'll be able to send them out. Gonna try to reasemble now and hopefully the little cam will still work. Not to confident about that, to damaged. I'd suggest unless you have another answer for us, you take down your how to video soon. Again, thanks for your time... PfB~

    This does NOT work on the newer Geekam camera. I have been through two now and all it did was break both ways I tried. The first being removing the entire black square from the sensor and the second, just cracking the glass out carefully while leaving the black trim in tact, both resulted in the camera turning on and freezing at the home screen logo. DO NOT TRY UNLESS YOU HAVE THE OLD MODEL!

    Somehow ended up breaking my camera following this video at 3:15. The tube that hold the lens and IR filter and that was supposed to click and unscrew, somehow was glued way harder than in a video. So while trying to unscrew it with a pliers, ended up with the cracking sound of the base of this plastic support near the sensor. The whole thing just come off, while the "tube" still sitting inside things base. Bad luck.

If I point it directly at the camera, it picks up light coming off the LED, but only that point. I can not light up a space at all. Any thoughts?

    We have women with face-mask, powder, daylight powder, ... current trend is to run/jog/walk/... light-footed.
    4k at 15fps lousy means you can minus one or two for 4k at 5fps. Usually 0-lux CCTV camera with lousy UV-LED indicate level of mod-hack starting-point baseline work needed... UV-emitters are to be placed like radar emitters - scattered all around places where you need to see and a bit of routes. Use included motion-detection algorithm, frame differentiation, at 10fps for accuracy at 5fps. Placements of torchlight with UV-lens, stainless-steel pots as reflectors, glass angle as transparent and/or deflectors and/or reflectors (edge lighting, glare, ... hints), and scare the commandos. Whatever you can see, they can see (EW hacks). They see your-mother concept.

      Many money-detection and mosquito-attraction zaps are flourescent-tubes... i will just wait for those LED people to flourscent-tubes. Light 1/3 of needed, darker 2/3 of needed. Light 1/5 of not-needed, darker 4/5 of not-needed. Reflect/deflect/through/... to 2/3, 2/5... then add fun-factor

    Great video. I bought the power bank that's on your link, and when I tried to rig it up... I can't. Now that I rewatched the video, it looks like yours has an USB output in addition to the plug for the light. The new ones don't have the USB or at least the one you linked.

    Nice tut. Also with a bit more work you could put it on a helmet and use it hands free.
