Jesus vs. Santa is obviously better but I just love that weird creepy vibe that Jesus vs. Frosty has, it's just so different than the South Park we have now.
Still think one of my favorite moments of the show is when Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman all have to make a film for class so they decide to do the paper cutout thing and show the second Spirit of Christmas short, which is what they ended up making. It’s a nice way to look at where you started
The "Don't belittle my people fat-ass!" line sounds so much funnier in this short than it ever did in the show, and I thought I'd be desensitized to it by now.
Yes, it definitely sounds much funnier in the short than it ever did in the short. You can really tell how much the voice acting has declined since the short. The short sucks now, bring back the short! Lol.
3:22 I love how Kenny's just there in the middle and even though he's basically just two eyes in a parka, you can absolutely tell he's totally like "Oh fuck, not this shit again.".
@@JambiStambi You check Jewbilee's script and Kenny's the only character that says fuck or shit throughout the entire episode (even though Cartman is absent in Jewbilee even in episodes he appears in Kenny appears to swear way more)
but.. that's just one episode. i get what you're saying, they definitely took advantage of Kenny's muffled voice in the earlier seasons to get away with the show's most risque lines at the time. however, as the show progressed and censors became more lax, Cartman and all the other characters' language got to be just as colorful as Kenny's. then consider how little Kenny gets used after season 6 and all Cartman's said and done since
I love both shorts, but definitely think the 2nd one is better/works better as a basis for the show. It also has better jokes and story on top of the better animation. But it does always crack me up in Jesus VS Frosty when Santa turns out to be frosty in disguise “did he look kinda like this? *demon face* RAGH!!” “yeah just like that-AHHHH” plus the “Jesus...we beseech thee in this time of-“ “ok so fuckin’ Frosty, he fuckin’ killed our friends” “Dude, DUDE! This is Jesus! You don’t say ‘fuck’ in front of Jesus!!”

@@JambiStambi On the plus side, Jims hasn't done an early Simpsons shorts analysis so you're actually one step ahead of him in one area. XD Seriously though, this format is hardly Jims' creation, there's tons of cartoon retrospective series on UA-cam and you both have your own style to it.
I wish I was around when Jesus vs Santa was going viral on the early internet. It must've been such a good time, getting an email from your friend with a cute animation about Christmas, then very quickly realising that it wasn't as innocent as you thought 😂
That second Spirit of Christmas really made the rounds. I remember it being emailed to A LOT of people (in context I was a shy teen then and at least three people mentioned it and one sent it to me -- it took awhile for things to download back then). It even made the news and was mentioned along the lines as something such as 'videos can be emailed'. "Viral" didn't exist as a term yet, or I had not heard it used yet in any case. In '97 when I was visiting my mom and her boyfriend I saw an ad for the premiere if South Park and I flipped my lid. I still watch the show to this day and watch the old ones. To answer your question, Jambi -- I prefer the second "Spirit". Liked and subbed.

I guess it has to do with Kenny unintentionally leaning away from Kyle while he shouts, though this could be from the animation.
Proto-Stan's lines in "Jesus vs Frosty" were pretty funny to me.
