From someone who was born in Hackney, but has been a resident of Melbourne, Australia for the past 30 Years, thank you these videos. They are truly awesome.
Thank you, my daughter, Son-in-law and three grandchildren lived in Hackney and have move a little further out to Clapton, I've caught this and the 30 many times on my many visits to London and it brings it all back to see known places and also the new buildings along the way. It's now 7 years since I last ride that bus and a few changes, thank you from Perth Western Australia 🐨 🇦🇺
@@Wanderizm I'm in Western Australia and we've been very safe here, just the first initial shutdown of 8 weeks in March April 2019 and two snap lockdowns of 5 days each while contact tracing done, otherwise life as normal and no community transmission, economy booming, employment up, even more domestic tourism, we've been very lucky. You stay safe and hopefully through Christmas and the colder seasons things will continue to improve❤️🇦🇺
Thanks for giving us the real experience, with bus and street sounds, and no annoying background music mixed in. This is how every video of this kind should be. Well done! Keep up the good work.
Lovely journey. Thanks for all the different views and local info. The modern building making plenty of use of glass does make a very pleasing contrast to the old. I noticed the iconic Routemaster bus, the engineering technology in those so advanced for their time when first introduced.
Thanks for a Fine trip through another interesting part of London. A combination of Old and new. Those inner building must be fairly old,but well keeped. Cheers.Wanderizm👍🇬🇧
i remember when i was 14 having a dream about king william street monument stn, never saw it in any papers or television, but that vision was clear. i always thought i would physically be there but staying at home like this will do
I have been on day trips to London three or four times since 2016 and I think I caught this bus. I got on near Westminster and I remember passing Cannon Street station as it got dark with so many people up and down the stairs, I think we passed near the Tower of London and I got off near Aldgate in the Mansell Street/The Minories area on the boundary of the City EC area and the Whitechapel/Stepney E area in the dark, even though it wasn't late maybe 6pm. I remember realising the time and panicking because I had 20 minutes to get from Whitechapel Road to Kings Cross train and underground station and I didn't know which station or tube train I needed. I can still remember jogging along Petticoat Lane/Wentworth Street/Commercial Street in Spitalfields trying to find out if I needed to be at Aldgate or Aldgate East underground station.. not a particularly interesting story but I remember it was my first visit as an adult alone by train from East Yorkshire.. I still have bank receipts, tickets, oyster cards, directions downloaded on my phone, photos and little Souveneirs and map's with my route's planned out. I kept noticing things like I was stood outside Scotland Yard in a yellow rain jacket when I realized I was being filmed by a national TV news broadcaster, and crossing Tower Bridge and being filmed at random by an Indian TV crew on an open top bus.. I was sat resting my feet on the steps of Westminster Abbey and being three feet from a male model photoshoot, I had no idea I was at Westminster Abbey because the east and west sides look very different and I have been on the same day as a terrorist incident on a central London bridge as I was a few hundred feet away, and many other unusual sights and incidents that don't happen in the medium sized city I am from.
Nice touch moving the camera to show interesting stuff when the bus is stopped. But I see London hasn't changed, endless traffic and ever more cycle lanes (that are mostly empty). I once calculated one of these bus routes with Google maps to see how long it would take by car, 20 min by car compared to 90 min on that bus route. It's just insane and it's not like public transport is cheap!
Central government has bailed out transport for London to the tune of £4 billion since 2020 or just over eighteen months. Transport in London simply doesn't work.
I watch almost every video, did you remove some ambient noise at the stops? It really stops the atmosphere when I'm relaxing and watching, please keep the ambient noise if you can
Last friday a Double-decker bus drove 40mile\ hour in a 20mile\hour street, that was in the early morning 5am, the bus was on ( no service) really idiot,

The result of wartime bombing when large areas of the east end of London were destroyed.
Indeed! 👍👍
@@ds1868 Actually it's more likely due to slum clearance and redevelopment than WW2 bombing.

Thank you, Joel! No, I didn't do much editing since I wanted to keep the original ambient noises.
Didn’t know Aldwych is now a 2 way road now.
I remember allways London by his sounds like the bus engine sounds or the colours of facades red, withe glass, steel and bricks....
Spot on! 👍👍👍
Thank you, from Russia👍

I wonder if all the guys in here are looking at the church, or the strictly come dancing video shoot ? 😋
May I ask what is the roaring sound whilst the bus is in motion? Aircondtioning?
😲 Yes, it is the air conditioner which is much needed on buses with so many closed windows on the upper deck.
