Noctua Thermal Paste Vs Gelid Thermal Paste

- In this video I wanted to see if one thermal paste outperforms the other.
The room I used for testing does not have insulation and the air conditioner is a small window AC. As a result I had to do my testing on days with similar weather temp and at the same time of the day on both days. Ambient/Room temperature at the time of testing was 72F.
You will do fine with any of these thermal pastes. I personally give the edge to Gelid Extreme, I think it outperforms Noctua by a hair.
As long as you have a decent thermal paste, ambient temperature and air flow in your computer has more of an impact on CPU temp. Make sure you have good air flow and clean out your fans and vents in case they are filled with dust.

***UPDATE - I give Gelid the win over Noctua. I did the same test using a Chromebook and Gelid Extreme did better (again). Check the video description for additional information***
I plan to switch to Gelid Solutions GC Extreme, I hope I won’t regret it.
They're both good products. Should be no regrets with either one. Just make sure to toss the tube after 3 years when it gets dry, stiff, and loses viscosity.
Would be nice to see how they perform over time, if they have a „pump out effect“ etc.
I doubt you are going to see anything significant or worth your time over time. Just pick one and move on. I prefer Gelid over Noctua, but my next purchase will be MX6.
Gelid gc-4 ? The Extreme doesn't performe fine.
I have used GC-Exreme for years and it performs great in my experience. The point of this video is that GCExtreme and Noctua perform about the same. Pick one and try it.
how does it compare to arctic mx6 ?
I have not purchased Arctic MX6 yet so I can't say how it compares. I plan to stick with Gelid Extreme. I'm really happy with the results I get with Gelid.
