- This video capture card enables you to connect your Nintendo Switch or Raspberry Pi to your laptop (now even your Android smartphone or tablet) and display it on your laptop screen!
Note:
- The video streaming latency is relatively low, however, this is recommended for non-response critical games.
- OBS is perfect screen recording/streaming software, audio works well through the video capture adapter.

In a perfect world, every guide video would be like this one:
No five minute introduction
No out of nowhere ads
No nonsense and straight to the point
Yea
I agree %100
among all the languages of this world you have chosen to speak the language of truth
exactly what i was thinking
agreed
This person gets it. This is how you do this kind of video. No loud energy talking.
I only like like one creator that’s loud, I can barely handle it😭
Agreed.

my man, playing with switch on a laptop playing the witcher game, living the best from both world, respect
Hey guys ! Had no sound
Quick and easy fix, just select the gear icon (where you can see the audio, bottom middle part) and then ''Advanced Audio properties'', change the ''switch'' one to monitor and to ''Monitor and Output'' and you should be set !
Found this dudes video that helped : ua-cam.com/video/Uf_SinsRZu0/v-deo.html
This need to be bumped up. You fixed the "No audio issue", so everyone should push this up as well so they can know as well.
thank you so much for this solution, I too was without sound, and this did the trick!
thx it worked
Omg u are a life saver
Thank you so much, i got so nervous i thought i broke something lol
You're doing Gods work my man. No giant intro or ad or give away. Just straight to it, show don't tell. A true piece of cinema that brings a tear to my eye, maybe even more so than UP. Godspeed.
Bro this video was the most helpful I’ve seen ever, it’s short, it’s sweet and it’s straight to the point, it’s also super easy to understand and isn’t distracting with music or anything (Which is a god sent as I’m someone who struggles with focusing and understanding)
Thank you so much for making this video
I struggle with understanding and focus as well as my sister as well
She wanted to start streaming so I was trying to set it up for her but every video I watched was confusing or to loud and didn’t make sense(idk what’s wrong with me I’m just dumb)
So thanks a lot 😄😄😄👍👍👍
Agreed
Did it end up working?
Skibidi!
Finally made simple and easy no hype needed just short explanation with no words
Woah what are you a legend
This video doesn't have
Annoying music
Commentary
Less than 5 minutes
Easy to follow
Great video bro
This video has less than five minutes
its too fast and i cant do anything without commentary telling me to connect something
I did the exact same thing but for some reason it doesn’t show the „USB video“ thing on obs
Just bought a device to connect to my switch to my laptop for slow times at work, thankyou for this simple and great video.
how did you go on your device section how did you get the USB VIDEO to show up, i followed all steps and i dont have that part. Help please.
Same here
The most accurate tutorial! Love it!!
WOw, 9.1K likes! Amazing🤩 Always keep on updated, cytron, really love it🤩😆
I have got a different game capture card, but it works. thanks! I use to play MK8 Deluxe and it works fine..but sometimes i got a delay from like 100ms. But thanks to the video!
It works great! Thank you so much!
I bought a video capture device that was a bit different, it's a little box with an audio port. Maybe it can give better resolution.
There's is a small delay on some games, but I personally don't mind as long as I can play on a bigger screen, and you probably get used to it after a while.
Overall, I'm really satisfied 👍
the delay is not small at all, this video isn't even a fix, people are just dumb to think this solve the issue
Skibidi!
I don’t usually press the like button in yt videos but I went out of my way just for this video cos it is so good
dont have a video capture card, but this video helped me understand exactly what i have to do. bought an hdmi cable for my computer so that i can connect it to my laptop. this kinda made everything make sense and why it wasnt showing up as a video capture device in OBS. planning to buy a video capture card tomorrow! and probably a nice bluetooth mic or headset since i dont have a pc set up, i only have a laptop sadly. its been working since 2019 though!
How’s it going? I’m planning to get all the things I need to start uploading proper videos but unfortunately I don’t even have an actual Switch, just a Switch Lite :(
So the capture card is necessary? I was hoping to do without it.
@@Tae_Grixis it is, yes. most if not all laptops (perhaps there's exceptions) only output graphics and unlike monitors cannot receive an input from another source. i always wondered whether someone would make a software like bluestacks or an emulator of sorts that could work but it's a mechanical limitation at it's core so this is the only way i've found to do it.
Thank you so much my guy, very straightforward tutorial keep it up 👍👍
It’s doesn’t say usb video?
works well + super easy to follow !! thank u !
I'm stopping here to add onto the pile that says this video was straight to the point and informative. No bullshit. I never give thumbs up. Ever. But you earned this one.
Thank you for this nice video!
Thank you! I also love the fact that i have the exact same adapter!
In OBS the only options i have for video capture was: Integrated camera or OBS virtual camera. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks dude for this video!! Thanks to you, I could project my switch's screen to my computer(Although it lags a lot)!!
does the lag occur only on online games or all games?
All games in general for me
@@emzyv9359 For me it was lagging in online and offline games
so all
i'm currently already using a capture card to mirror switch onto my gaming laptop. do you know of a way to use the laptop kb&m?
does the laptop also need strong specifications or not?
Thx and I'm so appreciate for your video just like other said straight to the point Great job bro
How do I boost the obs performance since my laptop is a Lenovo and I’m having performance issues when playing switch games.
Tried this with el gato software and it wouldn’t work, followed your video and used OBS and worked perfectly. My nephew is so excited. Thanks
hi does your obs have the usb port option only when you plug in the video capture card from the video or is it always there also what laptop do you have?
@@cookiehound4569 sorry, set this up for my nephew when I was visiting, have no idea on the details now that I’m not there... I just know it was an hp laptop
Thanks dude this helped me a lot
About the sound , can we move something to listen the game (while we play)?
Cause when makes gameplay captures also captures the audio
In OBS you can set the imput for your audio to be the same input for your video, so yes.
This thread is what helped me get it. I added an additional source, an audio input capture, and chose the same one as the video capture. Thank you!!
I used elgato hd60 s+ and it works. Only problem is there is a bit of delay and cant hear the sounds.
Yo bro nice vid but do u need a good spec laptop to use ons properly?
thank you !!!! the best video i watched on the subject !!!
Kudos. I’ve always wanted to know how to make gaming vids. This video was the perfect tutorial.
great tutorial! I have the same capture card. When i followed all the steps in the video, i was left with the colorful blank screen, even though my switch was turned on. Any suggestions?
same thing happened to me
why my device on obs didnt show usb video? it only shows obs virtual camera?
same probs, hoping a respond :
Same problem

Mine did that too at first, but after I bought the adapter and plugged the HDMI and the adapter into the switch system and laptop, then the USB option pops up.
@@briannaalvarado680 yes bc hdmi port in laptop is only for output but i tryed it with that usb adapter and it didn't work
Having some trouble, when i first tried it out the audio worked fine connected to my laptop, but doing it again there is no more audio, what do i do?
hello i have some problems...
when i am going to -device there just 2 option and not Usb option on device same in sound...
Hey, I am having trouble playing the audio. You see I have a macbook and so don't have all the different audio options, so I needed to create an input and output audio setting. The input audio registered the switch through the capture car, but the output audio refuses to connect or even register an option. How can I get the switchs audio to play out of my macbook speakers without recording the video?
Thank you so so so much for this video I can finally play Switch on my laptop
This video is very helpful. I have a little problem though. The audio of my game sounds very bad. Like a warbled 144p video. Is there a way to fix it?
I’m assuming the switch dock has to be plugged in for power while using this correct?
This video is perfect, thank you so much
I followed the whole video but I am having troubles getting any sound. I think it might be something that I need to fix in OBS, so does anyone have any ideas?🙏
can i do it without the splitter thingy
like can i just plug it in to y hdmi in put on my laptop ?
Thanks for the info there chief now all I need is the adapter.
How did you get the audio to work? I'm having a bit of trouble on my end.
Good tutorial mate but is it possible to be full screen when is connected with the laptop or not this is what I'm wondering 🤔
so when i did it everything i did was the same even to the point for the usb video capture card but when i powered on my switch it said *could not connect to the TV.
Please make sure that you are using the AC adapter supplied with the console. now i dont know where i put it but i dont have the AC adapter supplied with console anymore is there a way to make it work without the ac adapter
Thank you so much this help a lot!
now I will be able to screen record videos too. thanks!
hey mate, what should I buy for my nintendo oled, so I can use it on my laptop. the 4k or just the 1080p
Video capture
Hey is it possible to skip the video capture card when i have an HDMI port on my PC?
I didn't actually buy the speed hdmi cable, and there is no sound coming out of it. Do I HAVE to buy it in order to have sound?
so I followed all the steps but when I turn my switch on, it stays on the SMPTE color bars. any suggestions on how to fix this? maybe its because i'm using a mac?
I know this comment is kinda old but you gotta use the charger for the nintendo and when the green bar is on it should work
Got a question, what do I do if I didn't get the USB option when selecting a device?
although this isnt what i was what i was looking for i really liked this tutorial
ah finally, a worthy tutorial to stream my gameplay
This video was super helpful! Although im not hearing any sound from the switch? how do i fix that?
Whats the other cord that got plugged into the dock? Obviously the one is the HDMI cable, but whats the other?
YES THANK YOU THIS WILL BE BETTER FOR EVERYTHING
does it have to be that video capture adapter or does it work with others?
Would it work for making live steam on either of Facebook Pokemon group or UA-cam? Along with these items needed in this video?
This video was uploaded on my birthday!
Happy late birthday!!

So can it go full landscape mode? like cover the entire computer screen, give or take edge bevels?
🤔
to go into full screen right-click the screen then click full screen veiw
thank you for some reason they thought it was a good idea to zoom in at the most important part and block out what they clicked lol
When I am in the add source options I can see the game screen but when i click ok it goes black? any idea how to fix this
What if I already have an HDMI connector slot on my laptop? Do I really need the HDMI video capture for some instance?
Yes, inside the dongle is the recording stuff that you need for OBS
Yes. The HDMI connector of the laptop is output only.
Thanks for uploading the vid man! I have a problem tho, idk if it's normal or not. The audio and controls seems to be buffering. Does anyone have any solution to this?
thank you for this video!! :) I like the instrumental. Where can I listen to the ful version of the beat playing?
why do you need the hdmi-usb? cant you just conect the hdmi-hdmi cable straight to the stationairy pc?
I might buy this one. Can you also go live using this device? Or do i have to download a certain software or buy something just to do so? Looking forward to suggestions :)
its a obs scene so yeah u can go live
Will it work if I use the hdmi on both ends or do you need an adapter even if your laptop has an hdmi port?
I have this video capture card but only problem is, when I use it on obs I can't hear any audio from the game I'm playing. I tried everything on settings and advanced settings to fix it but it doesn't work
I’m currently having this problem, did you ever find a solution?
i need help when i fullscreen it gets darker bt when i play on window its full brightness how do i fix it and for context im playing zelda tears (edit) nvm the only problem i have is now audio
does HDMI-USB Video Capture Adapter necessary if the laptop have a hdml ?
can you list the settings? It looks good not like in my laptop
Alr so my laptop has an hdmi entry so I don’t need the adaptation cable but because of that obs seems to not register my cable ?
”USB video” doesn’t show up in my device drop down menu :(
I dont know what to do. I found my switch lite from last year. My little sister pushed it behind the tv and the left control is messed up. I found my switch and I tried playing acnh and it made me run to the bottom of the map. I dont know if this is even possible but am i able to connect my switch to my laptop and play with the keyboard and no controls. cuz i cant fix this and i dont have a way to charge my controllers that connect to the switch. So yeah.. Idk what to do!
is there alot of noticeable lag? i really want to get one but im worried is will damage my laptop or be really / noticeably laggy when i play
Hi i cant choose usb i already have hdmi to usb transformer but obs doesnt see how can i fix?
Got the game screen up great! But getting no sound. I've tried switch to 'monitor and output' and making an audio capture but I'm getting nothing. The audio mixer shows the sound bar but the sound is not showing on the bar. Not is it playing, anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
goes when I have an HDMI connection to my laptop to connect a Nintendo switch too?
can you help me? the audio is kinda delayed when I play on my laptop, do you have any suggestion?
Can you do it without the card example if you have an extra HDMI port in your pc can you plug switch right into that
Love it! I was able to get the audio to be recognized by OBS, but I can't hear it in my headset or speakers. Any tips or advice ?

have u try checking at the advance audio properties? to turn the audio monitor on
I pluged my head set into the switch/switch dock and it worked
@@gazer3713 omg you're a genius, thank you!!
@@gazer3713 Where is the advanced audio properties?
Does keyboard and mouse work if you connect it laptop while switch is playing
i dont have a capture card but i have one of the plug in that go into the card on my computer and when i plug it in and do everthing it does not work
Do I need the Adapter for Sure ? My Laptop have hdmi but it didnt work.
Does is work with a AGPTEK Video Capture or not?
How about lite version? Can connect too? Even use dock or jumpgate?
I don't seem to have that audio option in my program. Game works but can't hear a thing
What i dont get is why you need a capture card. The usb port on the switch already outputs video, why do you have to dock it, and then connect the hdmi to a capture card. Couldnt you just plug it into the computer via usb?
Dziękuje ci bardzo to że angielski a nie polski to bardzo dobry poradnik
hi, it isnt working for me. I have the same exact capture card, and HDMI, and the switch thingies, and i followed everything in the video, its still showing black for me. Is there anything else i can do?
Latency (lag) is never acceptable with video games, at least not in my opinion, so if you are a frequent gamer I would never recommend a cheap capture card. This video is still very informative just get a 1 or 200 dollar or higher capture card. In fact getting a 1080p 27" monitor at a pawn shop for $25 is your best bet if you dont plan on streaming your Nintendo games online. 👍
dude where are you finding $25 monitors???
Bruh first off where this monitors, I aint ever seen em.
Second the imput lag at worse will be a second, switch is legit the most casual console, that has most if not all games set to 30 fps.If you care that much just get a pc and be done with it.
He’s right you can get a capable monitor for that much cheaper or the same price as getting a capture card for a workaround in projecting the game from a console. Unless you intend to use the capture card for streaming with a laptop lol and you’re into that wonky and delay kind of stuff then go ahead.
It’s just a no brainer and good advice to just spend the money better.
i saw this comment to LATE!!
this has 1 sencond lag on the switch
Thanks this really helped
Very helpful. Thanksgiving you
