I have the sheet music to this song and all three followed the music pretty closely. The first section that the first girl did has the least amount of runs written in. The section the other two did has more runs written in the music and they ad libbed a bit more than the first girl but the instructions for the soloist say to ad lib so I think they all did a good job. The weren’t technically showing off their solos just had some crazy runs. I couldn’t do them I suck at runs so good for all of them.
I am on a pilgrim journey of sorrow. I'm left in this whole wide world, I'm left in this wide world alone. I have no hope for tomorrow, But I've started to make Heaven my home. Well, sometimes, I am tossed. Sometimes I am driven low, Sometimes, my dear lord, I don't know To which way I can roam. But I've heard of a city called Heaven, And I've started to make heaven my home
Swetha Pirathiviraj in a formal concert setting like this it is actually not appropriate to clap after solos. Personal experience my director gave a lecture after a concert one year because of this.
... the first girl was the best, ngl. She knew what the song was about, and knew how to sing it. This is not a showing-off song, this song is a plea

Don't clap till the end people, come on...
You can clap when solos are over. They appreciate it.
