you make it so much easier for when people travel to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. how to get there and where to stay. i'm always so jealous of your trips and i cant wait to go back to Thailand myself. thanks for such great videos and information
Hiya. Beautiful views, having your breakfast. Always informative. Beautiful beaches. Great to see more people. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Used to think it was one DJ overseeing a humongous party until we were there for a Half Moon party. A cacophony of music. About 10 if not more DJ's at different booths. Epic atmosphere 👌 Absolutely fantastic to see it reviving. So glad for the local traders. A long 2 years for them.
Nailed it R B. In this case about 3 'main' stages but with several other beats along the beach too. After the party things were quieter of course (but still busier than before) and shows that people who say 'No one is coming, Thailand is done' etc are a wee bit off. And YES, it's GREAT to see more local vendors smiling again.:)
@@SideTripLife Hey STL. Quick question. How do I make a small donation to your channel? You provide free content of Thailand that actually makes a difference for some of us subscribers. It's a little bit of escapism as we while away the days til we can get back. Of I went to the cinema I'd have to pay exorbitant rates. So I think a small contribution is well deserved and a little thanks from us. Richie
The Thais have really upped their game in the breakfast and especially in the coffee department since my last visit in 2008. I visited 7 times between 2001-2008 and just on my last trip I found my first and only espresso. That could be because I was a dirt cheap backpacker too. Happy Travels! Koh Phangan is my favourite island to chill on!! Just not the area around Haad Rin!! I stayed there for a couple nights once and had a great time but it's just too busy for me to properly relax.
Thanks for sharing Stephen. Yep, brekky is no longer cold white toast, greasy eggs and a hot dog weiner washed down with instant coffee lol. Agree, not ideal to physically stay on Haad Rin beach during FMP (unless one is coming for a party binge;). However, even during FMP, the North end around Sanskara is quiet and also the bungalows which are set back from the beach. But still FMP is just one day out of a month of course and the rest of the time Haad Rin is chill and gorgeous.
Good to see Koh Phangan coming to life again. My Thai friend returned to the island recently, he's a taxi driver and having not worked for two years was pretty keen to get back and make some money during the FMP, however, not sure how the island will go now that the FMP is over, but hopefully with Test and Go restarting on 1 February this will encourage more travellers to return to the islands. : )
Glad your friend was able to get back to work Cassy. After the party it got quieter of course but as you say hopefully things pick up again soon. It's still much busier than my previous trip a few months ago and many more places are starting to reopen, good to see.
Haha no thanks, not a fame seeker (and seeing my face would likely solve any infatuation lol;). Actually I've appeared before (albeit briefly) but just prefer making POV videos. Funny, my neighbour in Bangkok is a very popular youtuber and even standing right beside in the lift, has no idea I'm on YT (and I like that). Also, have ran into well known youtubers on Samui & elsewhere and again, I'm just some guy and I like that. Anyways, thanks for watching for my content, much appreciated :)

It’s good to see people back - in fact, I haven’t seen so many tourists in a vid since pre-CV19 times. But you know what, I kinda don’t want to see people anymore - it means when I get back there it will packed again 🤣🇹🇭❤️
Thanks for the comment Simo, raises some points I've been pondering. I too was a bit surprised at the crowd but after the party it was quieter (of course). However, still much busier than a few months ago and shows that if Thailand can draw a crowd like this in these times, how busy will it be when all restrictions lift?? We may even be back to talking over-tourism again eventually... Some say 'limit visitors to Phi Phi' etc, etc. Well, great. But then what's the plan for all the Thai families who rely on visitors? And/or, do we accept a minimum daily fee & quota system to limit visitors to Thailand ala Bhutan etc? If so, is travelling only for wealthy elites etc? Ok ok I'm getting ahead of myself here as in the future these will be 'good problems' to have once again (and yes, I'll selfishly miss having a beach all to myself lol;)
@@SideTripLife good problems for Thailand and the industry people I guess, but (.. he looks around to check no one is listening..) selfishly, my next 2wks trip will be fighting for overpriced hotel rooms, packed like sardines in transfer buses or boats amongst crowded beaches & restaurants… having seen the place look empty for two years .. doh 😖 … 🤣🤣🤣🤣
