I love infinite. I think ranked matches are some of the best fps games I've ever played. I don't care about new modes and content....ALL I WANT IS NEW MAPS FOR RANKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One map is ridiculous for the update. They should've added at least 4 more maps to ranked.
Desync is still an issue that they need to actually fix. They wrote a massive blog post about why it happens and never really fixed the problem

What needs to start happening is people need to start directing their anger and frustration at Microsoft. At the end of the day Microsoft is the one who is ultimately responsible for everything that goes on in 343 and wether they succeed or not. Start making UA-cam content putting Microsoft on blast for allowing this shit to happen in the first place. At the end of the day Microsoft has all the power and money to do whatever needs to be done to make Halo successful. I mean they did just spend billions of dollars in a record setting acquisition. Your telling me they can't spare some cash to give 343 everything they need to succeed? If that means cleaning house and replacing management with people who can get the job done, then so be it. 343 has proven their worth for 10 god damn years and this is where we're at. The put out 2 mediocre games in 4yrs and 1 barely playable game in 6yrs. Something has got to fuckin change and Microsoft is the one payin the bills and writing the checks.

@@ezekiellucas4857 Yeah I'm not sure what outcome would even be reasonable to expect even if we were able to get Microsoft's attention on the issue. They 100% would never sell Halo though. Honestly they don't need to sell it. I don't think they would make any decision that involves scrapping Halo Infinite. I think they've already invested too much time and money to dump it and start over.
Realistically there would only be 1, maybe 2 options.
They would have to increase 343's budget and allow them to increase their permanent development staff. I don't think there is any way around that one.
They could also clean house and replace management, assuming it's a management issue. I don't believe management is the source of the problem, although they may share some of the blame.
I may be wrong though seeing as how I'm definitely not an expert on stuff like this.

I am a massively loyal Halo fan so I didn’t think this would happen to me, but I have slowly moved to Apex. Haven’t played in over a week and I used to play every day. It has just gotten stale. They took too long to update. I’ve already played the campaign and am onyx in ranked so what is there to play for now

I am really upset that I spent money on this game. If stuff was fixed back in late feb early March I would have came back. As of now, I have traveled to other games and don’t want to spend my time sharping my skills for all the bugs and shitty job of fixing the problems of this game. Content is not going to fix the reasons why I left. I would play halo all day with 2 modes and 5 maps if the mechanics was on point.
Yeah… it makes me very hesitant to spend on the Season 2 BP…

I think a year from now, there will be alot of Halo infinite revisting a year later videos. And i hope those videos will say "343 pulled through. Biggest launch ever then followed up by the longest drought ever BUT Halo is now in a place where it should be and 343 pushing out content on a regular basis."

Stopped playing this overhyped disaster of a "game" three months back and haven't come back since then. Glad to know alternatives to this "game" are incredibly plentiful and easily available!
At this point I'll be concerned if they're focusing on making content. If it takes this long to make content, then it means the engine/organization doesn't support content creation, and it needs a substantial rework to support fast content delivery. If their next patch isnt a "we reworked all of halo, and the new engine is better for content delivery" then I'm gonna assume the game is dead cause releasing meager content twice a year will not be sustainable long-term
Agree. Their priority should be Forge and a custom game browsing. They obviously are incapable of staying on track with content creation, so if they at least gave the community Forge and custom games, we could create the content ourselves.
@@ezekiellucas4857 Not even that, I think that they need to first overhaul their engine, and then worry about forge and custom games, because if their engine doesn't support easy addition of small content like a map or a weapon tweak, then it wouldn't support large changes, like adding forge or custom games

It's a wonder that it has survived this long to begin with. The optimization of the game was/is so horrible that even though my friends are almost all die hard halo fans and owns every single game, movie and figures and so on regarding the franchise, none of them got past the first week of Infinite. It's not the content starvation that is killing the game, it's simple that it failed on a basic level to have an actual audience to begin with...
Im gona be surprised if they dont delay season 2 by a little bit with the way things are going....
I think people will want to come back and grind the season 2 battle pass, hopefully there is a decent mid season update when every one finishes

where has someone announced that co op campaign will only be on console? I've been sticking out for that, among so many other functions that will be coming late, and now i learn that it's only for console????
Short answer. No. With the aggressive monetization, the lack of customization without spending real world dollars, and how the xp system artificially time gates you through challenges. It's like Grand Tourismo 7 and Anthem had a cursed child. The suits aren't going to let the devs give the content people paid for back in Nov without a premium attached. If season 2 or 3 battlepass has a price tag attached I'm fully walking away and labeling Halo Infinite a corporate cash grab.
Literally all I want is ranked FFA and a couple more maps. I'm so sick of being stuck mid-diamond with bad teammates.
Was playing Halo every night until February when it all started feeling really stale. Usually when a new match starts and you see what map you are forced to play on there is a moment of "Oh cool, I love this map" or "oh man, not this stupid map again." Well ALL the maps started getting that negative reaction. Lack of new maps and no forge until God knows when... I'm out. And once I'm out it's hard to get me back in again. New girlfriend makes you forget all about old girlfriend. Have you met my new girlfriend? Her name is Elden Ring.
All I do now it Bot Bootcamp, Fiesta, and BTB.
It needs that 6 month + of consistent updates. Otherwise there will be no come back.

I think I understand why players are frustrated. I've played halo since CE, but never really delved into the multilayer only focused on the campaign. Didn't know understand the complaints about the progression system and all that until now maybe. Halo Infinite has been fun for me as long as others are playing, I can play more matches more often and quickly
Stop beating a dead horse! It is the core game mechanics that make this a fast twitch generic trash shooter. Is done, there is no fixing this.
I think they have blown their biggest opportunity, however, I think they can recover. I know I will be playing for a while still, weather they recover or not.

Everybody calm down. Worst thing about halo Infinite is the fact that its a live service. Almost every popular live service game in 2022 was shit on in the beginning. Siege, apex, valorant, destiny all had the same if not worse complaints. So once we get forge and beyond everything will be fine. I just this hate service shit.

Halo Infinite has been fucked over. They launched F2P to get a "broad audience" and didn't update it. Now the F2P audience has left and the hardcore fanbase that's "threatening 343" is stuck with a shitty F2P game we would've paid full price for. Can't even find EU games anymore, all my games are 200 ping US ones.

The lack of forge and custom game browsing at release is the biggest failure of Infinite.
If 343 wasn't going to create content, the least they could do is allow us to make the content for them.
You had millions upon millions of players who have never played Halo before.
If there was forge, you'd have a huge group of creative people who would be making maps endlessly.
If there was custom game browsing, this would be the biggest Halo yet. I fell in love with Halo because of custom games.

For me a NL (Netherlands) based player ranked doesn't feel nice at all, the desync is horrible and ever present in about 85% of matches and sucks the life out of you. I'm not even complaining about all the other stuff, can I please just have a match without desync.
I think Halo is just getting started, but I think 343 missed it. You never have anymore hype, excitement or player base than you do within the 2 month launch window. By the end of that window you need to have new content ready to launch, fix problems in the game and whatever you need to do keep the player base happy and interested. Cause once they see lack of content and unresolved problems and they get the sense that the studio company don't care... they leave and more than likely won't be coming back, atleast not easily as it was for the release.
I think halo is living on it's dying breath, an underwhelming dissapointment of a game and flunked show. Both of these will be very dissapointing and expensive mistakes to Microsoft and i could see them just giving up on this franchise. It's not MS' fault either, they gave 343i near unlimited resources and more than half a decade to develop this game.

Season 2 won't have a honeymoon phase. People will be done with the free content in under a week. No sane person will be touching the battle pass. What else is there for the next 3 months? Co-op if we're lucky? On a barren open world? Yeah, have fun with that.

Overwatch 2? That will be even worse than Halo. The original Overwatch was good for maybe a month during the beta but after that it was pretty terrible. Blizzard can't into balancing.
Overwatch was the number one shooter for a whole year and a half and then slipped behind only fortnite. Halo wishes it could do that.

343 will turn Infinite around, they did a great job with MCC but it did take them a while to do it. The real question should be when it’s happening.
Given they're fundamentally damaging the xbox brand with their forced early release of an unfinished flagship game, it makes me think Microsoft have thrown in the towel with the consoles. Sad, but an inevitable conclusion unfortunately

This game is so bad on pc. I came from series X to pc about a month ago and man is it poorly optimized. I’ve just switched to apex, valorant, tarkov and plutonium. Halo feels so insanely stale. On top of that it’s really hard on pc for some reason. Maybe it’s aim assist maybe I’m not as good on mouse yet but man it’s sad how boring it is.

Glad I came before all the whiney comments talking about how number company has completely destroyed Halo because they're not releasing new content immediately. It's fun how the people who're complaining about the game being released in an unfinished state are also largely the same people who complained about the game being delayed just a handful of months earlier and are complaining about delays now. Well that's the problem when the men in charge don't remove people from job roles they don't deserve to be in, where they consistently underperform for fans and parent company. Idk bout every single 343 developer individually but the senior managment are practically stealing a living at this point. Anyone but Phil would of replaced them. 2 maps for next season's release. TWO. This game needs a soft reboot like final fantasy 14, because the technical debt goes so far back that they can't even add a game mode to the UI.
Stopped playing myself last week. The desync and bullet registration issues make it unplayable. Two bursts into beatdowns and no death, beatdowns making a sound and no damage done, backsmacks registering as normal hits, dieing when I'm around a corner, and to top it all off; winning a game and getting a miniscule sliver towards your rank but losing against 2 onyx's and 2 high diamonds while I have a plat 1 and 2 mid diamond teammates and go 25-13, but still lose 1/5 of my rank bar... Fuck that, I'm done

I honestly think that the ppl at the top of 343 and Microsoft believed they could release this amount of content every 4 months because they made it a live service game and didn’t do any homework on what a live service game is. They truly have no idea and I do not believe in 343 at all. They fail too much. All of their communication is speculation and no substance

343 did such a good job to make halo infinite boring that made me try split gate... Thank you 343. I wouldn't been able to enjoy this indie multiplayer if you where fun.

@@Cognitoman Yes but you have to unlock it after level 20 to give you time to accustom to the mechanics. And game give cosmetic. What i like its 60 fps on xbox one and 120 fps on series s/x. It's very fun. The menu are very responsive and only take a minute to enter a match and the game last between 5-8 minute average instead of 10-12. The game is simple but in fun it's a blast.
Smart move. I uninstalled Infinite, and then installed World War 3. Never looking back.
I honestly just don't like Splitgate. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful game but it just felt it copied too much from other games like CoD and Halo. It's got interesting mechanics with the portals but so many sweats tear me down to want to play.
The map layout is fun but overwhelming in a sense, way too much space and rooms to go through, the jet pack feature all really bugged me until mantling works but we don't even have an animation for it yet.
It's just stuff like this that disappoints me tbh
I still play daily, 2-10 games or so, time allowing. I still have fun grinding some ranked… However, wait times between matches are getting longer and longer. Definitely feeling the effects of “Halo is ded” hah.
I’m hopeful after this so called death month we’ll see a comeback. Also hopeful once they clear up all their tech debt that things will start getting churned out at a brisk pace.

I still find matches fast, halo infinite is still top 10 shooter on xbox. Population has dropped but far from a dead game. I still play BO3 and find matches fast and its less populated.

The Campaign was unbelievably mid. Why are people actually showing it such love lol. It’s a repetitive mess and the story is utter dogshit. Halo 5’s campaign was actually worth the time because you were constantly drawn in. You aren’t playing a map base simulator for 300 hours lol.
