I love that Malcolm is not boasting about his own playing or style but he should be because he's the best at rhythm guitar r.i.p. Mal

It's amazing how humble the Young brothers are, and how much respect they have for each others playing. Here Malcolm talks about how Angus might go down as the greatest ever. You listen to Angus and he does nothing but praise Malcolm's playing. Said that Malcolm could easily do what Angus does, but he couldn't do what Malcolm does. I believe that, because Angus is hyper. He wouldn't have the patience to be a human metronome, like Mal, and keep perfect time. He needs to go off on a tangent. I'd just say that they are the greatest lead and rhythm guitar duo ever to play. Malcolm is the cake and Angus is the icing.

I wonder what collectively their take would have been on the Towson State College show- Malcolm says here that live it’s tough to hear what Angus does on stage- that show was super tight, and the energy was relentless. I heard an interview once where Malcolm said, “You live for the nights where the band is really cookin’” and that’s one of them, without question.

That's a bloody good point Malcolm makes about Angus's ability as a guitarist... he is one shit hot rock guitar player and one day the world will regard him as one of the very best there ever was. It's easy to miss just how good he is as a player, as his guitar work has always pretty much been overshadowed by his showmanship, which in itself is phenomenal..

I think Angus is the best live guitarist ever. Simply because he never makes mistakes. He plays his solos with a bit of a sloppy feel by the man is a machine. In fact that is what made AC/DC the greatest live act ever imo. None of them ever mess up.

By being so insightful and having effortless and organic understanding of what the Rock 'n' Roll really is all about, as much as the business aspect of the showbusiness, he added his intuitive compositions and riffs to the whole picture. He was a genius.

Loved what Malcolm said about Angus in the end of this video and it's true. Angus is capable of so much more than we know him for, but it's time for him to break out of that damned shell once and for all and show it. They need to release the new album, tour it, then Angus come out with a solo release that will blow everybody's mind with him playing shit other than what people would be expecting to hear from him. " C'mon, Angus, let 'er rip !!! Give us some Robin Trower type shit.

Malcolm is so right about Bon's lyrics.
Sure, they're dirty and sleazy, but there's a really beautiful sort of blue-collar poetry to them if you read them. Songs like Down Payment Blues and Ain't No Fun (Waiting Around to be a Millionaire) have a real wistful yearning to them. Funny, but poignant at the same time.
I think he could've really gone on to do more amazing things lyrically had he lived.

This is probably one of the best interviews with the band that I have seen. I guess Chris Slade's take on Phil was dead on, other than he thought Phil came to the NZ concert looking for his job back. Sounds like Malcolm called him and asked him to come back into the band. I guess I can't blame Chris for telling them to take their job and shove it either. Jimmy Page and Elvis Presley both recognized Slade's skills. Page ought to know a good drummer when he hears one. Phil is kind of like an old Model T. Not very reliable, needs worked on constantly, prone to frequent break downs, but people remain loyal to, and have a soft spot in their hearts for it.

*bows down*. and the subtitles are actually good. Not that I need them but most of the time Dutch subtitles suck.
Thank you so much for this!

I really wonder.. why don't they re-record the albums like fly on the wall, with phil, or razors edge with phil. how fucking awesome would that be!

You got me man , I never thought anyone else could have thought that exact thing. Fly on the wall with Phil would be a blast . Blow up your video , razors and why not Who made who and big gun ;)

But, by listening to the whole Black Ice album and to Play Ball even, I can totally tell it sounds like a high quality Fly on the Wall. And I read they were producing that album back in 1985 on their own.
Maybe back then they didnt have the right mastering engineer.
To me, Play Ball and Stormy May Day has the exact vibe of Fly on the Wall

***** brenden o'brien and mutt lange are a joke, their production sucks, it's a joke. Vanda & Young, THAT'S the production that you want. Listen to Powerage and then Highway To Hell, or Stiff Upper Lip then Black Ice
