Hey, heroes! I'm streaming on Twitch again this weekend! On Saturday I'm continuing Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance while on Sunday it's more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
www.twitch.tv/merrymarvelite
He's one of my favorite villains from Marvel. I especially enjoy when he battles Hulk.
I always liked the stories when he’s smart enough to achieve his full potential like when he touched a cosmic cube or ultron’s brain or even in secret wars when he figures out how to fix his arm.
I don’t ever expect him to be as smart as Ironman or reed richards but I love his clever moments.
Speaking of Hulk,
WE NEED A "MR. FIX-IT" MOVIE! The Grey Hulk, at night, in a suit! It fits perfectly into the blip years. When attempting to fix his arm, Banner unknowingly creates the Grey Hulk. He thinks he heals and cures himself. Except, at night, he turns into the suit wearing, JOE FIX-IT. Joe leaves Banner cryptic messages on the mirror. Heck, it's even a story Disney execs want. Have him fight whomever while having to deal with his "mental health." To win, he must meld Banner, Green Hulk and Grey Hulk into the Hulk he is now. It writes itself! GIVE US "MR. FIX-IT!" Pass it on, please and thank you!
I didn't know Crusher fought "Battlin'" Jack Murdock!
Love how things connect in the Marvel Universe!
I don’t think I realized just how powerful Absorbing Man actually is. I also like that we get to see him learning his powers, going from near certain death if he touched something not solid, too learning to control himself so thoroughly he’s willing to do it mid battle.
Absorbing man is the type of guy with powers that literally on one second you are a normal person like any other and the other you touch a superrare/special/strong alloy of a supermetal and you can punch up with people like the Hulk and even win while being impervious to damage if it doesn't drain stamina to stay transformed and even if you get hurt its useless since you can just regen near immediately
I actually like the idea of him and his wife trying to be good. But Marvel keeps making them lose and stay as villains
Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes probably has the best iteration of his character outside of comics. They had him fight both Hulk and Thor. And in one instance he even absorbed the powers of Mjolnir
Awesome! The absorbing man is one of my favorite Thor villains. I just very recently purchased a beautiful raw copy of Journey Into Mystery #114 (1st appearance of Absorbing Man). Jack Kirby was firing on all cylinders during this time.
Another classic Marvel villain with deep roots throughout the Marvel Universe. I'm finding the later retcons about the childhoods and life before their first appearances to be my most favorite part of your videos. These attempts to humanise the villains more are stories I never read, so I'm glad you are flling me in on newer backstory.
And sine you did a video on a human character empowered by Asgardian magic, how about a video on RED NORVELL, the red headed Thor stand in.
As always MAKE MINE THE MERRY MARVELITE!!!!
13:14 that is such a harrowing frame, I’m just getting chills looking at it
Your channel is pure gold, my dude! I can't recommend it enough. Keep up the stellar work. I love it!
Great underrated villain. Although I've always thought Crusher Creel is a much better name than Absorbing Man!
The comic where Creel and Black Bolt are imprisoned in the same space prison and later becoming friends really made me like Creel more than i did when he ran around with the Wrecking Crew 😊😊
I think people still underestimate how OP Absorbing Man actually is, great bud!
~_~
'THIS CHANNEL IS EXCELSIOR' ..
I absolutely loved his role in Earth-X
was he on the nazi side? or the heroes?
Another great video! I always dug the Absorbing Man, such an interesting power to have.
Awesome vid as always. Was hoping you jump to the Black Bolt mini from a few years back.
Was an awesome mini series with Creel and Blackagar forming a very unlikely friendship and further pushing Creel towards the redemption path
Love Absorbing man he's a great character and still learning how the hell his powers work love this video 💪👍💪
I've always liked the villain "absorbo" and his abilities,
I'm still waiting to see him get a ring made of adamantium, vibranium and uru
Two uploads in one week😮
I would love to see more on him and his wife. Thank you for sharing this with everyone
This video was filled to the brim. I guess you say there was a lot to... take in.
This is a huuuuuge one for me I love Crusher Creel!!
I first saw The Absorbing Man on the 1960's Marvel Superheroes cartoon show.
Good stuff
I love crusher creel..titania too..and the wrecking crew..go pacers
Love it!!!!
What a nice character
Love a video on spymaster! He was my favorite villain growing up!
This was sweet 🎂
Still love the way Thor beat him by tricking Creel w/ that cardboard toy hammer.
I love the Absorbing Man
I hope everyone remembers that we all agreed that Hulk "03" never happened and that Nick nolte wasn't the absorbing man and we will never speak of it again lol
Speaking of the Hulk,
WE NEED A "MR. FIX-IT" MOVIE! The Grey Hulk, at night, in a suit! It fits perfectly into the blip years. When attempting to fix his arm, Banner unknowingly creates the Grey Hulk. Crusher Ceel gone through a fantastic journey into infinity and beyond
Another amazing video from the best Marvel comics expert on UA-cam. It's amazing how often he has to say "one account says" these days because of the utter editorial incompetence of modern Marvel.
🍻
Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me realize just how weird the early marvel universe is. Creel starts off as some street punk turned boxer working for the mob, next thing you know he's in jail being cursed by The God Loki, fighting superheroes and being sent flying through space, and then trapped in other dimentions.
I never understood why the egghead for him though? Like, it could be a side effect of Loki’s enchantment, but why? 😂
When I was a teen my mother called me the absorbing man because I ate everything in the house. I was a big comic nerd and so was she.
At 14:04, I saw Dwayne the Rock Johnson. He could totally pull off that role!
More Absorbing Man , please
Can you do history of the A-Force, U-Foes, the Ultimates team, Starjammers, Alpha Flight, the Annihilators, the Invaders, the Squadron Supreme, Doom Maidens, the Midnight_Sons, Young Avengers, Dark Avengers, Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts and the Champions?
Could we maybe see Creel in Daredevil: Born Again when that releases? I’m thinking at least a mention of the name due to the significance with Matt’s papa
I never really understood this villain,Thank you for making this video, he is not as lame as I would assume lol
Can you do history of the Beyonder, Crossfire, Living Laser, Iron Monger, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, Ultimo, Darkhawk, Union Jack, Annihilus, the Badoon and the Broods?
What would happen if the Absorbing_Man fought against someone like the Grey Gargoyle and the Super-Adaptoid?
Are you going to do history of Ironheart, M'Baku, Namora, Attuma and Shuri as the Black Panther since they played a major role in the Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie
Since you did the History of the Mandarin and Fin_Fang_Foom, can you do history of Ultimo as well as the Shang-Chi villain known as the Death_Dealer?
Can you do history of the characters mentioned in this video?
Can you do origin of the Grim Reaper, Quicksilver, Devondra, Sentry, Mr Immortal, Captain Universe, Dreadknight, Deathcry, Blizzard, Starhawk, Flerken, Whirlwind, Chemistro, Whiplash, Ronan the Accuser, Ego the Living Planet, the Living Tribunal and Super_Skrull along with Avenger-X and the Protector?
Nice so Creel is worthy of Mjolnir! Given this he's at least as strong as Hulk!
This character is so powerful, the writers have to come up with some bs just to stop him. Like changing how his absorption works mid fight. He can absorb what he touches, but he absorbs things at will, until someone makes him absorb something else? But he can turn his power off, until he cant..... Then he gets the power of a cosmic cube, but the heroes stop him because somehow his ball and chain, despite not being near him, took on what he absorbed, and also changed the BALL and chain into a cube, which somehow made the ball and chain able to stop him(despite the ball and chain being an extension of himself)
Ngl I used to think this dude was crusher hogan the wrestler spider-man beat
Can you make a video on hydro-man?
He showed up in the Joe Fixit #3 miniseries 2023 😂
I wanna see you do Brian Banner aka the Devil Hulk, the abusive estranged father of Bruce Banner/Hulk
Which movie or TV Show do you think did a great job in portraying the Absorbing_Man? What would happen if we saw him make his MCU debut in the Daredevil Born Again Disney Plus show in a flashback since he fought against Matt Murdock's Dad before we see him in present day with his powers?
Assuming Kevin Levin from Ben 10 was inspired by this character
Do a video on volcana
Can you do origin of the Brood, the Gladiator, Hyperion, Star-Splendor, Havok, Vulcan, Jackal, Stingray, Quasar, Squirrel_Girl, Ultimus, Kly'bn, Kitty Pryde, Yotat, Dr.Faustus, Annihilus and Tryco Slatterus the Champion of the Universe?
Whenever he would appear on Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Creel would look as if his head was pointed! I'm NOT kidding, nor am I insulting the character! Watch some episodes that have him in it!
Is it just me or does EVERY Marvel character have an abusive father?😂
Yeah, unfortunately. There's TONS of men who are not role model material
@@aaronjackson1493 Probably has something to do with the writers, my guess is they were more creative and artistic and coming from a time when men should be strong and assertive, maybe their parents were not the best to them... you know try and toughen up young boys and all. They then inject their trauma into the characters they make. But that's just my uneducated theory
@@ChrisDeger Not uneducated at all, brother. That's most likely why. Because all whatever type dysfunction or trauma folks went through individually (and perhaps even the writers themselves were so numb to it. Who knows 🤷
Are they abusive because of Alcoholism?
@@quentinfogger5755 Yes😂 Literally every Marvel character either has an alcoholic abusive father, or a father who’s already abusive, then their wife dies, and he becomes an alcoholic and even more abusive.
12:19 Wait, was he on the west coast to start with or did he keep doing that all the way from atlantic to pacific the hard way?
He was good on the marvel agents of shield
Y’know what im really trying to get to know Ian McNee, The Magician from Marvel Fanfare #6
How long till you finish doing White Tiger: legacy of the Tiger by doing the history of Ava Ayala White Tiger? Can you do the history of Intelligencia in honour of the She-Hulk Disney Plus show?
He's Titania's Ken.
And he is really ok with that.
Based of him.
How old was the Absorbing_Man when he married Titania? Did they make the best bad guy couple?
him against Rouge, who would win?
I forget what comic it was but I think it might have been Immortal Hulk but it alluded to The Absorbing Man being addicted to fentanyl. Does anyone else have an idea what comic that might have been discussed? I believe his enemy used that substance against him.
More
I. wonder what would happen if The Absorbing Man fought The Parasite in a DC/Marvel Crossover battle? Alos, if the Absorbing Man battled The Super Adaptoid, who would win? And in another DC/Marvel Crossover, The Absorbing Man Vs. Mantis?
Do you think we will see a version of the Absorbing_Man in the MCU apart from the one who appeared in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? Would he be better than the one from the 2003 Hulk movie?
He really loves "resurrecting" on beaches
How would you beat the Absorbing_Man if he absorbs any kind of attack especially from the Hulk?
What do you think is the best thing about the Absorbing_Man in the comics compared to villains like Grey Gargoyle? Which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best?
Absorbing man hands down..go pacers
This villain likes to absorb everything.
And he appeared in agents of shield
Crusher Creel sounds more like a wrestler’s name than a boxer’s name.
Mucking with Creel and Titania is a big reason I didn't like the Jane Thor run at all. Hell I'd take the weird Fighting-Superheros-as-swinger-BDSM rewrite of that scene some random on the internet made over the original dialog.
Like sandman
i compare him to kevin levin from ben 10
You forgot one thing sir. Mista Crusher here is a rapist. Before he met his one "true love", the infamous elemental misfit had broken into a woman's house and brutalized her after escaping prison during his early days as Loki's toady toy. From that horrific experience, the poor woman found out that she was pregnant! Being a good person that she was, she raised the boy in a similar manner that Crusher's mother once did for him. But Creel would return. This time to do again what he did before to her! Her son, having heard all types of stories regarding his biological father, stood to defend his mother. It was during the fight that the boy discovered his own abilities to absorb properties, having inherited it from his father. The boy's name is Jerry Sledge. And I hope to see a video on Hickman's secret warriors one day.
Why do they always use the tired old 'abusive dad' trope?
Aside from that, good video.
probably because it was a comic and they made tons of characters, we're not talkin nobel prize winning writing for everything, give 'em a break sheesh
@@Janzer_ I would, but it's almost every single character these days.
Sad we didn't get to the bodyhorror stuff in Immortal Hulk!
Immortal Hulk is AWESOME 😎, love the Alex Ross covers as well, so ethereal
How can you not mention the time he was turned to cocaine then broken apart and sold to people
The absorbing man is really he cool his powers remind of Kevin 11 of Ben 10 but I always thought he was a hulk or luke cage ever ant man and the wasp villain not thor but serious question why do a lot of characters in the marvel universe have a abuse father The hulk,Hawkeye, I can't remember kingpin but I ever think had or that was just in the daredevil TV show but still they so many characters with that in they past
no you mean Kevin 11 of Ben 10 reminds you of Creel, who was developed first and way earlier
wow i didt know absorving man was this powerfull i tough he was just another dumb guy and got powers by a science experiment or some gama accident you know the more typical , never knew he got his power by magic
His mom is a bbw and a good mom.
Hope he shows up in a movie again, his appearance in the Hulk movie kinda sucks
He has a hero counterpart. The absorbent man. Saving the world one spill at a time.
He lost to fuckin' Daredevil before
Marvel characters have such horrible upbringings. 😞
Bronx NY in the building!!
What about the wrecking crew?
I don't appreciate you calling everyone"heroes" I'm far from a hero
