Loved the Disney MGM Park back in the day. My family took me there for Spring Break of 92, and my favorites were the Great Movie Ride, and the Animation Studio, where you got to see animators working on the next Disney project. (Aladdin at the time.)
Jerky Treats Strips- Apparently whenever this dog's owner brings out the Jerky Treats Strips, it brings out the Spiderman power in this dog to be able to climb the side of the building like that. Green Giant Peas- I found it so sweet how the Green Giant turns off the lantern next to Sprout when he fell asleep at the end of this commercial.
My mom recorded Dumbo for me in the late 80s, and I think it used the same format as this tape (with the accompanying promos and shorts). I remember watching it and seeing a lot of these same commercials, like the Beggin’ Strips, the apple in the blender guy, and the Ronald McDonald taxi one. It’s probably a similar market (Chicago vs Indianapolis), but it’s just uncanny how many of these I’m pretty sure were on my tape too
I believe that programming blocks like this had the commercials already included as part of the package. The only thing that would have differed between stations were station specific promos and whatever local/regional ads the affiliate decided to insert...similar to a network feed.
The announcer on the Silly Dillies and Hungry Hungry Hippos commercials is the late and legendary Dan Ingram, a beloved Top 40 radio DJ in New York City in the 60s and 70s. He was the afternoon drive jock on WABC 770 AM.
Silly Dilly's sounds like a game somebody came up with by tossing darts at a board..."Okay, so the kids use...(whack)...springs in order to pick up...(whack)...pickle points!!"
McDonald's-backgrounds look like they were designed by Ralph Bakshi Purina Beggin'Strips-It's (NOT)BACON!!! Mr.Belvedere-Stewie Griffin's favorite show 🤣

That Jewel add hit me in the feels! Take a new looooook ♡

Just take me back to the 80s
"Incredible" is doing *all* the heavy lifting in that Disney commercial.
I still quote the Beggin' Strips ad.
That 7-Up Christmas commercial is such a classic, along with the Beggin Strips commercial.

9:41 - The way that teacher looks at the kid when he says he has a problem is like, "Kids have problems?! Why was I not informed of this?"
Awesome blossom and thanks for the beautiful memories. Looking forward to seeing more
Thank you, I love American culture. Found a great channel
The dog saying "I can't read!" lives rent free in my head.
Disney 1989 > Disney 2022
True
Miss the old 7up Christmas commercials, also coke doesn’t make the polar bear commercials anymore. To bad they were great 👍🏻

Love that Bagon Strips commercial! Wish I could find some for my Chihuahua.
Beggin Strips are still made: www.purina.com/beggin/dog-treats/beggin-strips
Mr Belvedere is a local favorite knowing the state he did his housekeeper duties in. But hey, gotta love a show based within Beaver County.
That Beggin Strips commercial ran for years.
1:33 - Something about that hippo with the huge mouth and how it's animated freaks me out...
Come on it ISN'T an 80s board game ad without the obligatory "I WIN!"
McDonald's-backgrounds look like they were designed by Ralph Bakshi
Purina Beggin'Strips-It's (NOT)BACON!!!

I feel like that Tropicana one was trying to imply something else.
Batman cereal... & yes I remembered.
That Batman cereal went soggy within .5 secs of having milk on it!
