exactly sir, I am visually impaired, can't read my daughter's notebook, can't see anything lying on the floor, struggling to lead a basic life and always wonder how come visually handicap category has 2nd highest cut off after general always. You can check, it is always more than OBC, SC/ST, EWS for VH category [Cat 2]. Problem is that there is no way to measure how much disability is if you are a good liar, doctor can always tell if candidate has issue or not but can't quantify.
Bunch of liars enter into UPSC, that is why you hardly see any interview of someone who is VH but not totally blind as they don't want to be in limelight.
I don't understand why India is making itself a joke at educational levels.... This is the reason brain drain is going on
Its a circus only…if somebody is honest and hardworking, why should he/she be wanting to stay in the country in this state of matters(esp for competitive xams)..of course they may continue to live in the country but an option is always there to leave which may be one of the reasons for brain drain

Always have option 2. Since you study for upsc, many other govt.Bank Exams syllabus is covered. And of course, if you are middle class or lower middle class, you have pressure from Home to be financially independent and which is correct. Never depend on only one exam. Problem is that if upsc starts acting strictly and refuses selection for such candidates who have applied for some quota, then people will blame the UPSC for being insensitive to backward community, brahminism etc.
I remember my JEE exam in 2017, when a candidate got a rank under SC/ST quota but failed to produce some documents during the document verification phase.
When JoSAA (seat allocation authority) refused to give him seat, there was a widespread internet campaign about caste discrimination.
A case was filed which was ultimately dismissed.
Don't know what happened later.
UPSC exams considered as tough to crack has lost its credibility. Money power and influence can help a person to achieve anything in life. Ethics be damned.

For EWS income of a person, her minor siblings & parents is considered so they both had Income less than 8 lakhs

From childhood I was proud being an Indian, always thought about serving the country. Despite my parents unwillingness and our middle class problems, I aspired to serve as Civil servant. When I heard the news about NEET paper leak, I was furiated and after learning about UPSC fraud things, I am confused. The way I used to see my country as a child and now as an adult has completely changed. I dont know why my country is becoming worse day by day.

After clearing exams, they won't post you directly, they give training, which will mold you enough to the standards of an administrative officer. Moreover, being an IAS officer, a person should have the compatibility to be multilingual even in the worst case at least able to converse in English.

What I am trying to convey is that after passing the exam, candidates undergo Phase 1 and 2 training at LBSNAA, where they will eventually learn everything. Specifically, during Phase 2 at LBSNAA, training based on India’s diplomatic missions abroad will be provided. Therefore, by completing Phase 1, candidates should at least be able to converse in English, which is not a big deal to do.

UPSC should come out clean by publishing list of candidates cleared by them to join civil services of India using OBC, and disability quota in last 10 years. The rot in UPSC the premiere agency which recruits top bureaucrats is stinking now.
In any organisation, the HR department conducts the second and final round verification of background, qualification and all the required documents and certificates submitted before making an offer to the selected candidates. It’s not that the UPSC has to do this for lacs of applicants but they can surely do it for the final list of about 900 selected candidates. Surely there’s a gap here which UPSC doesn’t want to plug to benefit those who are willing to pay for intended and expected favours.
Oh , there are general category people who have faked their caste certificate and have stolen SC /ST seats and EWS .

I don't understand. How did the board not notice these things at the time of interview? Can't they see that the file highlights disability, but the candidate doesn't show any sign of disability? They should be questioned too about clearing such candidates and giving them such high scores.
