I'm a 78 year old retired musician, singer/songwriter, and performer. Discovering Dimash has resurrected my old Musical Soul.
He was a child prodigy who had perfect pitch at age 2 and began piano voice training at age 5. Now at 26, he has over 20 years of vocal training. He became an international superstar at 23. He has earned a B.A. in Classical Voice, an M.A. in Contemporary Voice (jazz, pop, R & B), and an M.A. in Music Composition. He is shockingly good for sure. A lot of people ask, "How does he do that?" There is a real answer to that. Gifted prodigy, years & many hours of training, and a total dedication to his craft & his art.

Loved your shoutout to iconic guitarists, and how hearing them the for first time is like hearing Dimash's voice the first time. Yes, it was like that for me too. The craziest thing about Dimash is that, just when you think he can't surprise you anymore, Dimash will surprise you. Sometimes the surprise is that while you're expecting vocal acrobatics and high notes, he will sing a complete song using only 1.5 - 2 octaves and move you to tears. Subscribed.

The band is AStudio from Kazakhstan from late 90s, now based in Russia. Dimash team is called DQ team (Dimash Qudaibergen), only the percussionist Ilya Petrovsky is part of his team, very talented.

This was an event to honor the band "A Studio"...Their lead singer had passed away a few years ago, so they asked Dimash if he would sing this song..(the original version is on YT)...the gentleman on the keyboard composed this song, and included in the band are the original members...Dimash now has his own band and you can see them in his concert videos...he has his own dancers and back up singers too...
That is Dimash's real power, his character that shines through the crazy singing.
He commits body, mind and soul into each lyric and CONVEYS it. And as you saw at the end there, while the outtro is being played by the band, he still remains in focus and connected to the audience, despite his singing having been completed.

They realized he has perfect pitch when he started piano lessons at 5. So they transferred him to the children's program at the arts university, and he's been studying since. Still does, 3 hours a day. It seems weird, having collected so much info about him... I'm 69. long past the stage I thought I'd ever obsess again... but his performances are so amazing I'm driven to try to understand how he does what he does. Of course... he's an artist, and it's impossible to ever break that down and understand. It's not like there is a formula for producing genius... yet, we're driven to try, aren't we? His technique is flawless, but it's the choices he makes, the artistry that makes him so compelling.

My mind is still blown each and every time even though I have been listening to him non stop for a year and a half already. Each time like the first time. And not necessarily songs where he uses so much of his range (although they are also mind blowing of course), but not less so songs where only limited range is required, because it doesn't matter - whatever and however he sings, his voice sounds amazing, it always fits the song and the emotions just get to you. He lives through each and every song and you just live it together with him. I would suggest you to react to a song where he doesn't use that much range so you understand what I am talking about and what an amazing vocalist and performer he is regardless of range. They lied to him to get him in the show, then blasted him very rudely when he decided to bow out (and give up the million dollars he was on track to win) after realizing he was competing against children, one of whom was a little Kazakh girl he knew and mentored. We got him to #3 on Oct. 16, we need to get him to #1 and keep him there. 8:58 his mother (opera singer) and Igor Krutoy (impressario/mentor/collaborator. This song was originally done by the pianist/band about 15 or so years ago. Gracious Dimash brought them on board for this production.

I am a 69 year old woman with no real musical background except that I love to listen to music...I have never been obsessed with any singer like I am with Dimash. he appeals to all ages, genders, nationalities. I few from Nebraska to New York City (never been there before) to his concert in December and will do it again if he tours in US ..The connection with other Dears there was amazing, even though we had never met....When this covid this is over I hope he does..He is getting some American exposure now as they are playing some of his music on MTV Friday night Live!!!

I am so upset at USA (I live here) that we glorify porn (WAP) and not someone as gifted as this man! It makes me sick that he is not bigger in the USA as someone who has a lyric that is “are you dumb, stupid, or dumb” or someone that would rather use porn to sell music than talent or skill. We have some gifted people here for sure. But what is trending now is just based on butt implants, prison sentences and who can be the bigger whore. I love Dimash because he has worked his entire life, earning degrees in music to better understand. Learning other languages and instruments. But I understand some people just want to be a slave to corporate America and make junk music.

Actually Dimash started piano at 5. Later he only sang in the choir. His real training started when he entered college with Marat Aitimov, around 14/15.

I watch a LOT of reaction videos, and I have to say you are one of the best out there. Keep at it, and developing your style. You are on point for what makes Dimash so special: combining amazing technical skills with emotion and connection. I have heard this song maybe a dozen times (I guess I am a baby "Dear"), and it never fails to be moving and to reveal more nuances each time I listen. Live performance perfection is a sign of the truly great vocalist, and Dimash just dominates that element every time he hits the stage. I certainly hope the day will come that I can see him live here in the States.

I enjoy your reactions. I think one reason Dimash does not have more subscribers to his own channel is that many of us enjoy watching the reactions -- especially of "virgin reactors" -- to his music. There are so many subtle elements to his singing that listeners feel but that some reactors can successfully explain. For example, at the beginning he uses a touch of vocal fry to initiate notes and then blends it into a regular vocal sound. I've never noticed other singers do that. Later towards the middle as he increases the volume, but he attacks notes with full chest voice and then in the same note softens it to give it more emotion. The soprano part is so pure and beautiful, and then he innovates with his use of an Arabic-sounding yodel, finishing with his amazing 25-second one-breath run. He is not just the best singer in the world, he's probably the best vocal innovator. I listened to a reaction of an Arabic singer to Dimash's version of Hello. Besides being moved by the entire piece (to which many male reactors literally break down in tears), this reactor noted that there is a part with a specific Arabic style that essentially only Arab singers perfect. The reactor said he's heard Arab singers use that style all of his life -- that's "their thing" -- but Dimash put them all to shame. The reactor had never heard anyone do that style as well as Dimash does. A first-time Indian reactor tried to explain his perfect mix of complex styles by saying that it seems that music is his native language. That really hit home to me. Considering that he is the son of two professional singers and started his own formal training at about 5, it may well be his native language. He began learning to sing while in his mother's womb. He's amazing.
Plz react to Autumn strong with extended story behind this sad song and Lionel Richie song hello which Dimash sung that well Lionel Richie banned Dimash from singing this song again, just like vitas who made Dimash promise not to sing it again or he’d sue him. Both songs sang by Dimash hammered original songs into the ground
Dimash made a guest appearance here, opening the New Wave competition for young pop talents. He was invited by the originator and longtime organizer of this event - the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy (this is the man in the white shirt who gives Dimash a standing ovation). After meeting Dimash, he returned from musical retirement to collaborate with him and compose especially for him . You're going to continue to react to Dimash, so you'll often see Igor accompany him on the piano, in the songs he composed for him, or old Igor's songs that Dimash has now raised to the Olympus level.
Just to say that I heard Dimash for the first time in this song and I was awerstruck and time stopped for me and I stopped breathing. And yes, it charmed me, I am Dear forever.

You may want to hear his version of "Show Must Go On" which he sang at the I am Singer competition in China. If I am not mistaken, he never sang it again. I heard he was not satisfied with his performance of it I don't really understand. I am a Freddie fan and I think Freddie would have enjoyed Dimash's rendition. I would be interested in hearing your comments on his performance of it.

This is largely the band that wrote and performed this song over 20 years ago. When Dimash thanks them (A-Studio) for leading youth in the right musical direction, I suspect he is including himself as having benefited from their influence.
