You are quickly becoming my new favorite album channel and it certainly helps that you are fairly local to me. I grew up on cassette tapes and migrated to cd’s. Sadly I got into vinyl not until the pandemic. But better late than never and now I have gathered a pretty decent size collection since then. This Saturday I will finally make my way over to your store for the first time. Very much looking forward to it. I would vote for you as king of the vinyl community over Mike at the In Groove, Dillon at Noble, Mazzy, Robert Fithen, all of them dude. What you said about what you do and don’t want your 18th anniversary to be like, and how you’re setting strict ground rules to keep control over the negativity that spawns from smash and grab situations, which you couldn’t be more right about when you say takes the fun out of the day. I always say you have to be willing to take a few less records you want and gain a friend rather than get the records you want and make an enemy. And store openers everywheee don’t want to get involved and they say oh let the customers sort it out but no, the person running the record event needs to be the one to lay down the law. I’m happy for each and every person who will attend because they are a part of the atmosphere you have cultivated and I respect you so much for keeping such a focus on the positive mental attitude portion of the game, it’s so much more important than most people are willing to believe, especially when they see a record they want to make a b-line for. It’s a tough world so we have to make prior agreements on how we’re gonna act and not pretend to be nice in line and then run eachother l over when doors open. You da straight man man. For RSD I go to a place called Port of Sound because the owner set it up in such a way no matter how long the line is each person gets into the building one at a time. Then you see other store owners who just let people in and let them try to find where the thing is they want before someone else does. Yeezus take the wheel man. I have so much respect for you now and I always thought you were a high cut above.

Funny you showed that Neil Norman 45! The Seeds are my favorite band of all time and Neil is responsible for getting them signed to his father’s label. Neil is a LEGEND! His two solo 45s from the early 70s are INCREDIBLE! Also super cool to see a very young Neil photographed on the Sidewalk Surfing compilation on GNP Crescendo!
That Modern Lovers 80s reissue is great, sounds better than the OG (I think), plus it has “I’m straight” on it.
