Not much of an action figure collector however I really appreciate the Passion Count Stankus has towards figures .Soo much knowledge Thank you for keeping Toy Hstory Alive and doing what you do .
This is a great line of figures. Congrats on acquiring these! Great review! Very entertaining and comprehensive as always! I had a blast hanging out guys and thank you for the shout out! I very much appreciate it!
I remember when these came out I wanted the Ringwraith but I never saw it in the store, only in an ad in a magazine. My mom got me the Gandolf and Gollum for my birthday. Great figures. Very fun video. Thanks for the histories of the Middle Earth books and Knickerbocker toys.
For a second, when you were putting Aragorn's sword back in the scabbard, I thought it was going to break! Gollum's cool, but those Ringwraiths are easily the best figures in the line! The card art for that figure is awesome as well!
Possibly the best video you have ever produced. The excitement built up during the great introduction and the payoff in the fight scene was satisfying. Oh, and the figures were pretty good also. Thanks for sharing.
I really have to say, always a pleasure to watch you and Mr. Strange giving some history behind the toy lines that you review 🍻 Especially for the young ones that never saw these or had a chance to enjoy the late 70's or 80's figures that created what is figure to this day.
Great review! These are 1 of my 3 toy 'holy grails' - The Marvel World playset, the Mego Greatest American Hero figures, and these. I skirted buying these many years ago on eBay, but decided against it (they were getting pricey even then). Sadly they all cost too much now, but we can dream.
Nice review. I remember seeing the movie when I was 10 years old in the theater and then bought the soundtrack on 8-track, which, incidentally, I still have. I also have the soundtrack on CD in the movie on VHS. The soundtrack is absolutely one of my favorites and I even have a poster of it hanging in my office at work - the poster was a mail-in item that came with the 8-track. Leonard Rosenman was a student of Arnold Schoenberg and you can hear his instructors influences in the development of the harmonies and dissonances used. Rosenman even use an e-flat clarinet to give that otherworldly sound. Though I was heavily into Star Wars figures at the time, I had no idea about these figures. I looked on eBay and these figures are even more expensive than some of the rarest Kenner toys.
I grew up on this film which got me into citadel miniatures which I had Lord of the rings minis. The ones who made the cartoon ran out of money that's why is missing loads from the books, which the films filled in. I prefer the gollum in the cartoon to the film. And love them figures, never seen them before, that ring wraith is cool.
Had all of these when I was 10. Wish I could've held on to them, but, like you said, they were really fragile. Curiously , my Ringwraith horse didn't come with a shield.
I watched the Mordor out of that Ralph Bakshi and frank & bask cartoon movies I had the mithril minis from the early 90's that based out of the books description of characters and the sculpts are still better than most these days I wish I had theses in day I must not of seen them in stores the Lord of the ring and star wars were my favorite movie growing up. I destroyed the tracking on the films till they blurry and barely able to tell what was on the screen .
So much Information thats y i always watch your videos knickerbocker Lord of the rings are Great i have 4 of them and i have one with card but its not Sealed but still cool..keep rocking it!🧙♂️
Wow the horses look so much better than the figures IMHO. However the Gollum figure comes close to capturing that character. The ringwraith is decent too.
I have a few of the newer ones 12 inch line . The lord of the rings animated movie is amazing the rotoscoping makes it unique only prob is it’s not finished it’s bookended by the rankin bass hobbit and return of the king
When I was a kid I was confused by the Rankin Bass movie. I never could understand until the internet came along so I could look up the info on these movies!
Count Stankus haha your not the only one The hobbit is one of my fav movies all the great voice actors in that John Huston Hans Conreid the only thing I know orson bean from is this and the match game lol The Lord of the Rings carton is visually stunning I’ve never seen a animation Like that still don’t really know what rotoscoping is but it sounds cool

I agree with you on that. The Ringwraith is awesome!
Possibly the best video you have ever produced. The excitement built up during the great introduction and the payoff in the fight scene was satisfying. Oh, and the figures were pretty good also. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed making this one!
One of my favourite movies! Love the rotoscope!
When I was a kid I was so tripped out by the rotoscoping. Still love it!
Wizards is good too!
I had all of them when they were released. They were played and played with. They are of course lost to time. I had Gollum up until 10 years ago.
That's cool that you had them!
That Ringwraith is beautiful!!!
You're makin' the Ringwraith blush!
He's very nice!
@@toy_room_of_insanity Nice and hot.

These figures cost far too much. I just had to get them since I love the story!
Nice seeing all of these figures together and a shame that they are so damn rare

Yes the value on these figures has gone insane! It took me a while to get a set just so I wasn't killing the bank!

Gotta love the Ring Wraith!

It should of had the shield. Maybe there was a second version on how it was packed without the shield.
@@toy_room_of_insanity That's possible . Shame though...I really wanted that shield .
Another Awesome job you guys!

You will love them!
Great Review I like this set.

Loved these toys so much and had them all but my Dumb ass sold them years ago. I have lived with this regret every day since.
I feel your pain. I do! These are fantastic figures
Wow the horses look so much better than the figures IMHO. However the Gollum figure comes close to capturing that character. The ringwraith is decent too.
