Ice Jams over the Kankakee River (January 2024)

Here are some images/videos from the Kankakee County Sheriff's Office from earlier today (1/19/2024) over the Kankakee River. The Kankakee County Emergency Management Agency continues to monitor the ice jams, as well as the weekend's forecast.
The Sheriff's Office has free sand bags available on a first-come, first-serve basis for anyone that may need them. Anyone interested can retrieve them (you will have to load them yourself) at the Sheriff's Office (Southend of facility; 3000 South Justice Way, Kankakee, IL).
