Ice jam breaks Ste-Marie-de--Kent bridge

- Bridge Sainte-Marie-De-Kent in Kent County New Brunswick, Canada was destroyed by a huge ice jam in the winter of 2014. The asphalt breaking was the result of a dangerous rapid ice dam on the river that caused a flood.

By all means stop recording right when things get interesting.
LMAO!
😂
Maybe he stopped to change into his Superman outfit...
Better yet, block what little view you do have with UA-cam End Screens.
@@BobSteinyep, WTF was that ? :)
The pop up ads for the next video block the visual of the bridge breaking. Way to go.
Horrendous editing 😭😭 lol
Totally agree, they screwed it up and it ended as soon as the bridge broke.
yup.. beat us to it
If your on the app, hold the video and bring it slightly downwards
If ur watching on I phone, scroll ur screen down a bit and it’ll go clear worked for me.
The worst moment to stop filming.
The bridge is fucked. Let me draw you a picture.
best moment to move your ass
he paused for commercial
Pay to continue
I understand that this recording has been stopped by the caring filmmaker in order to respect the fragile feelings of the breaking bridge.
Just love the pops ups that happen 15 seconds BEFORE VIDEO ENDS, SO YOU CANT SEE THE END!!!!
The #1 rule of filmography is to stop filming the moment things get interesting.

I was going to leave a similar post. Or maybe something sarcastic like "Gee, we were hoping for several more uneventful minutes of standard spring thaw footage, but we were thrilled that you only included approx 6 seconds of the actual, title-relevant footage of the bridge being destroyed. Any more than that would have frazzled our nerves"! Lol
Don't forget that if you do film the good part, film it with an ancient camera that you are violently shaking.
Was that fiction or did it really happen? I had a very similar experience. I didn't think anyone saw it though.
notatechie
Well, make sure you have a smartphone or camera with you next time, and make sure to STOP recording as soon as the most dramatic part starts to happen. That way UA-cam will include more videos that are cut short right as the interesting stuff starts.
In the spirit of this, I am thinking of starting my own channel, where I can make videos with dramatic titles, and maybe a fake, click-bait photo on the front, and nothing but disappointment after you've spent a few minutes watching it.... Lol. Seriously though, this wasnt that bad.
timothylegg haha very true
Anyone else disappointed?
Yes 3.2K as of today.
@@neumoi3324 Now 5.6K
nothing happens for 1 minute 37 seconds , then when it gets interesting you shut off the camera . Did you see Bigfoot ?
You tube algorithm deemed the destruction of the bridge was too violent.
Thank you for saving us from great and long lasting trauma.
His filming is like his love making...it finishes too early 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How would you know?
Makes the same noises too probably 😂😂
Mayb his Nokia 3210 that he was filming with ran out of memory.. 🙄🙄
I do know that feeling
i learned a new language "Whao, whao, whao" it means stop recording.
I know right
I would have liked to see more of this bridge destruction.
It is like you make some popcorn and open a cold beer, and put the DVD in the machine, open the recliner chair, turn the light down, and want to start the movie...power goes.
Or even worse, the DVD isnt rewinded...

What a chicken. Valuing his own life instead of our entertainment?
@@jess4you13 lmfao, YEA, he was SOOoo in danger there on solid ground.......
Hey that was great ,,,,,,,,,,,,,still waiting for part two .
The bridge wasn’t safe anymore so it was torn down and they didn’t built a new one.
hahah i love these comments. you guys r great
Thumbs down for stopping the video
People waiting for the bridge to collapse
Cameraman : let me crop the video at this moment
"whatever you do, dont stop filming..."
"dont worry, ive got 256mb of storage on my phone, so i can keep this up for at least 90 sec...."
Me when the video stops:
My pain is immeasurable and my day is ruined
It looks like the film ended at the best part, but that was the extent of the damage. The bridge is still up but closed to traffic. 6 years later, it is still not repaired.
This video is about the same as the people who pan down to the ground or off in the distance for the split second when the shit hits the fan
Or jump up and down while they're filming. They should go to journalism jail.
Great camera work Spielberg where's the money shot?
+Peter R That was it Mr Tarantino... you saw the "money shot" when the bridge moved.
Peter R. When you were breastfed.
He stopped recording because he realized he was on the wrong side of the bridge. :D
Oh yeah, that's his car,
Over There.
lol .. great answer
Whatever you do, Make sure you stop filming as soon as something happens!! 😂😂
I don't think this could have had a worse ending.
Wait for it...wait for it....wait for it....and cut, nice job capturing a minute and half of nothing and 3 seconds of almost nothing.
Jay VanDaele lol, good one.
Video made in 2014. I'm seeing this in 2021. PLEASE tell me you've listened to all the comments and your filming has gotten better since then. Sincerely, Audience 7 yrs from the future!
awesome filmography... i loved it when the dude stopped just it happened. Magnificent.
And when all the ads popped up at the end blocking the screen.
The correct title should be “ice jam about to break Bridge”
Old guy recording everybody just appreciate that he even got the camera on and working.
Lmao

What a great place to end the filming, thanks.
Why did the video stop there
my thoughts exactly, the entire reason why everyone clicked this video and then it stops
I suspect the videographer was running for his life. Maybe.
doesn't seem like he was in any danger
Frico Rico
Exactly. He is standing ON LAND, not on the bridge. Was he worried that all the land on his side of the bridge was going to spontaneously explode or something? There's a lot of this stuff on youtube, but at least he captured 'some' of the action. How much time has everyone wasted watching videos that promise "amazing, one of a kind, unbelievable action", that ends up being not much more than several minutes of nothingness? At least 'something' happened here(not that I am rooting for important transportation routes to be destroyed)!
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM LOSERS/
Tune in next week for the exciting conclusion
Anyone else find this weirdly satisfying? _Before_ it ended, that is.
now we will never know what happened to the bridge
I witnessed a similar event on a bridge between Fort Kent, Maine and Clair, New Brunswick. I think they repaired that bridge. When I went visiting there 3 years ago, they had put in a new higher clearance bridge.
It must have been scary 😟
That ending..... I feel robbed
Does someone have an extended version?
i was so excited... I HIT STOP!
SFXGroup , fucking idiot. Then turn the fucking thing back on. Probably ran out of battery like a dumb ass.
SFXGroup What, and then you couldn't turn it back on?
Never watching another video from this channel.

Fantastique vidéo! Very impressive! Merci!
I've witnessed this kinda thing before! I was a 12yr. Old kid ! Scared the livin day lights out of me. I had just crossed the it on my bike. And kaboom ! It was gone !
The secret to satisfying a woman is to
Feel like this is about half the ice McD's puts in my med Coke.
why did you cut this short????
Good thing the links covered the actual bridge coming apart
Yeah, that would traumatize me to see it happening. It was enough to read that it happened in the description.
Wow man you couldn't make the video a few minutes longer
Dont waste your time watching this video, it shows next to nothing.
Thanks youtube for putting recommendation icons up right before the guy stopped filming early.
Nothing can stop the incredible power and strength of water and ice.
....but apparently ..anything..can stop a man from finishing recording one of the rare lifetime events happening directly in front of him!
Gee, I wouldn't know because the filming stopped before the bridge bust away.
I guess when u scream “Whoa whoa whoa” that means u stop recording
Where’s the rest!
Nothing can stop nature... except for the person filming.
Well that was annoying. Cover the money shot with links and then end.
Wow. How strong nature is! Yeah, film finishes too early!
When it becomes dangerous it's ok to stop filming and stay safe.
They were on solid ground and in no danger.
This happened during the spring right? When the snow was melting? Looks more like a major flood to me.
Cameraman: Something unexpected is happening, I'd better stop filming and collect my thoughts.
#2 rule of filmography: no panning of the entire scene to show the scale of the event,
the setting, and what else might be going on to give viewers a clue as to how significant
it is.
Carmen Bernardo
Your sarcastic post is misguided, and here's why: Many viewers, like me, came here NOT for the dramatic views of nature-related destruction(because obviously nobody wants to witness that), but because we wanted to learn about captivating details like, what types of materials are used to construct Canadian bridges, or whether this particular road was paved in concrete or asphalt.
I personally came here to view the somber scene of the leaf-less trees on the other side of the river. In fact, I ended the video at 1:32 to avoid watching the actual title-related drama, as I'm sure most other people did as well! Am I right folks? Lol
Carmen Bernardo You are spot on...also filming only in vertical view helps compliment missing any important details as well
And don't cut short for no reason right when it starts to get interesting.
you really think they could handle panning the scene? most you tubers can't. and let me fill you in on what's coming down the river....more ice that looks alot like the ice you're seeing
I agree, no money shot! I was hoping for more! Nice to be there though for your memories inside your head.
The three main things I learned in UFO/and or Bigfoot photography class were.1, Always stop filming seconds before the money shot, 2, Always space out watching the subject while losing focus then the entire picture of the subject and not noticing, And 3, always be as shaky as possible while zooming in and out as rapidly as possible.
😄
Awesome catch !
Bridge is there getting beat up.
Bridge: ...AND YA'LL JUST SITTING THERE JUST FILMING!
😂
Wow!
Boy, people love to complain. 😂😂😂😂
I was happy this was caught on camera and posted.
Smartass
where is the rest of video? :-)
+Asae2 That was it.. why? Did you need to watch the river flow until all of the ice was gone... in late spring.
+Steve T You're an idiot
John Jesus and you can't spell the contraction for "you are". It's actually quite simple, even for you... "YOU'RE" an idiot.. not "your'e an idiot".... although the jury is still out as to just how much of an idiot you really are. ;)
But first, a word from our sponsors!
Bloody hell, the power must have been enormous.
I really hate this kind of videos when they stop filming at the most interesting part 🤬
Did the bridge survive? That was amazing. Never get ice dams in New Zealand, so seeing something like this is quite interesting.
+Robert Glennie Yes, that bridge did survive but an old covered bridge not too far away was carried away by flood waters and totally destroyed when it piled up against a new bridge. This kind of flooding doesn't typically happen like this but with the severe winters we've had over the last couple of years it can get messy come spring thaw. Here's a link for the covered bridge www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/cherryvale-covered-bridge-swept-away-by-flood-waters-1.2613311
We don't get ice dams here in Florida. It looks cold; we don't get that either.
Cameraman: I'm gonna show you the moment the bridge completely breaks off.
Cameraman: Just kidding. I tease.
She: Its getting interesting
Him: I'm going stop now
Such a scary scene. How can you even do this. That too at the climax.
I wanted to see destruction. My eyes are thirsty to see that bridge either crumbled beneath the ice, or gets flown away from the scene.
But all my eagerness was just disappointed.
Dislike x 100
Next time, go to the bathroom before you start filming

This is great film, lets just end it as soon as the real shit starts to happen.
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO
You caught that from a good angle. Very patient and I would have shut er down at that point and backed away
"Courtesy Rene Girouard"..really, the dumwit literally stopped the filming in the moment something started to happen.
I agree with many, you should not post anymore videos. You left the dull part, you cut the good part.
Awe man I wanted to see the bridge break away
No problem, that'll buff right out.
I've spent countless hours watching videos similar to this one. Based on that experience alone I know exactly what is happening and all the mistakes people have made since the dawn of time that caused this to happen. Further, I know exactly what should have been done to prevent this from happening. I also know how to fix the bridge easier than any way they will try to fix the bridge. Someone should have asked me before this happened. I also could have filmed it longer with better quality and in a language that would be understood.
Im glad you exist
I forwarded your response to the local Kent County authorities ...we all hope they contact you soon on this matter and seek your expertise and ask your advice on how to never have this horrendous ordeal ever happen again. But. . .in the meanwhile ... .would you care to enlighten us poor sots on what mistakes were made, how this could have happened, what can be done to prevent it from ever happening again, how to fix the dang bridge so we can get back to crossing it instead of having to ford the river every time we wish to get a chai latte at The Grounds Await. Also ...how much longer would you have filmed it, how many mp's would the video have been in, and so you're aware ..Portuguese is the only language that can be understood by all.

Not everyone that posts a video is a professional videographer, nor is there any need to be simply to satisfy the likes of you. If you don't like it, then go to the next one. I'm sure you can find videos that you like. I would note that you extended your TOTAL WASTED TIME here by posting, so by extension you have plenty of time to waste.
Hey, I got an idea. How about I post 90 seconds of useless video and then when shit gets really interesting, I'll stop recording.
Amazing footage - which no one else got. Ignore the critics.
