Happy to watch your Beautiful Quaker. In my experience I bought a bigger cage and now she's so much better because she has more space to go up down all around and has so much fun. I've got a crazy little quaker with anger and anxiety maybe 2 year old. Found him squalking at a pet shop, just dumped there by someone.. Scared as shit, he sits quiet in his cage but when he's out he's a mad wreck either sits away from me on a high cupboard croaking constantly or doing his obnoxious loud drill sounds he dives towards me but just flies around in a circle squalking or then he sits on the TV a metre away from my chair squalking but also does a little growl and chirp, and trying to bite the top of the TV, seems frustrated but playful. He wont take from my hand or let me get too close, doesn't wanna be handled or bathed, I've tried a spray from afar where he tolerates it somewhat I get mad side eye it's funny and he will move away and growl when hes had enough . I feed him well enough with grain, fruit veggies, minimal nuts and seeds.. He's now got wise to the fact I leave his food in cage so when he's out he goes back in for it gets angry about having to fly and jump back in and now he knows that's free time up and when I get up to close the cage he's ready to jump out again and fly off. He will sacrifice his snack to jump out it's now become a game to close the cage door after his free time .. He's definitely a difficult one, but maybe there's a chill dude in there somewhere.

Mine is spicy and squawks a lot. He'll sometimes step up. But he's a rescue that didn't get handled much or paid attention to our cared for very well for the first 4 years of his life. When we got him his owners had him outside covered in a tarp. His owner had allowed him to love with filth about an inch deep in the bottom of his cage and even his food dish was covered in filth😢 poor boy. I'm so glad we saved him before he died from the cold. As for his behavior and socialization we're basically having to start from scratch with him.

One moment he is stepping up and being all sweet then the next he is biting the crap out of you for no reason whatsoever. 😅 They are so bipolar. Also he will only eat seeds for some reason we have bought him 2 separate food mixes and he picks around everything and will only eat the seeds.

Every time there is a storm, animals and humans alike seem to get more aggressive and irritable. Emotions are on high alert! But often, it could be that the parrot had a traumatic experience and is remembering it and acting upon it. Please try to give him some fruits and vegetables and remove seeds mix from the cage for a few hours.
He looks just like my blue quaker parrot named Stitch, I say c'mere to him all the time. He's just a few months old and he is already repeating me haha. I love him!!

My parents got me a quaker when I was a child. I had no idea how to take care of it or raise it to be friendly. The parrot ended up being really mean obviously because I was a child trying to take care of a parrot. Please do not get your children birds as a pet. It doesn’t turns out well.. ultimately, I had to surrender it to a sanctuary where they were going to rehabilitate my quaker. I hope he lived long and happy life. Now that I’m an adult, I would really love to get another one.
I absolutely agree with you never let your kids have a bird or any other pet that they don't know how to care or how to tame them. I hope you can get one soon 😊
