Such an ominous theme. The genius of John Barry. And sweet Tanya Roberts' dawning horror at the extent of Zorin's plan - "If it happened at the peak of the spring tide for maximum effect..."
Another absolute masterpiece from John Barry, thanks for sharing. Last weekend I took my son to Amberley Museum in West Sussex (UK) which is where the mine exterior scenes were filmed. We had a ride on the narrow gauge railway and passed the Main Strike Mine entrance and some wagons with Zorin's branding on them. This music was playing in my mind during the last minute or so of the journey and I couldn't wait to watch the movie again. A great little place which is well worth a visit. You just have to book an arrival slot to help with social distancing.
@@kljmaq well, the desert music is classic Barry, but overall I rate the score as his second worst behind TMWTGG - he phoned that one in! James Bond music should be epic an dramatic, not Cyndi Lauper pop.
A View To A Kill (1985) is, basically, a remake of Goldfinger (1964). For example, Max Zorin’s Project Main Strike is a technologically updated version of Auric Goldfinger’s Operation Grand Slam.
Only Zorin had the vision to know that he had to destroy Silicon Valley to save America from the left-wing socialist mind-control machines of the future like Google, Facebook, Twitter, et al. Maybe Zorin was the good guy all along.
@@juliapigworthy Ah, Silicon Valley - home to Big Tech - enemy to free speech, megaphone to the far-left, censor of Wrong Think, and insidious infiltrator to the private lives of billions. Yes, Zorin was right all along. It must be destroyed if liberty and freedom are to survive.
Wow thankyou...xxx
This would have fitted Hugo Drax in Moonraker as he looks to dominate the world perfectly!
"Wow, what a view!"
"To a kill."
May Day 😎😍

AVTAK is one of Barry's best Bond scores, IMO
Indeed!
I almost feel like each one was the best one. He was a musical score genius.
Best thing about this movie is Barry's score.
Wonderful music score-one of John Barrys best works!

an argument can be made that this is John Barry's last great Bond score. You can literally feel the villain's sinister intent.
And his dark twisted mind too :)
@@Nunov103 the best part is the blimp flying over the Golden Gate bridge. Chilling.
@@MrEab2010 indeed 🙂
How could you possibly disregard The Living Daylights? It's as great as score as this one, if not even greater.

It would have been funny if Bond mentioned this to Zorin!
John Barry is a legend
Roger Moore and John Barry made James bond what it is today!!!
Dammmmn, This is so Beautiful.
Best Bond of all time. Moore wasn't too old, like the critics say.
This Theme explains Zorin evil plan and himself 💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Thankyou...xxx
This is my ZORIN INDUSTRIES jam. Just wear a suit with some ridiculous aviator sunglasses and a hard hat...for no reason.

The mezzo forte tamtam hits are amazing.
Still 'Saur Sepuh' music theme, together with Mike Oldfield's masterpiece 'The Killing Fields'
