Fun fact: in the commentary video for this episode, it was revealed that the censor at the end of the video wasn’t actually censoring anything, since the person voicing the woman didn’t actually say anything at that word, because KaiserNeko didn’t want her to actually say it (partially due to not wanting anyone to say it, and also so the actors don’t come under fire if the recording out of context gets out).

This was a filler arc made to pad time so Toriyama could get far enough ahead of the animation team. This was the same time that Krillin got a girlfriend. All of this was dropped in Kai because they wanted to be as close to the manga as possible and didn't want to deal with movie characters.
