Well that’s good practice for a log arch. That’s about how high you are on a log cart. It took me a while to get used to. Mowing machines are the worst for lack of view. Nice work sir.
Thanks Matt. Log cart is what made me start thinking about it. I have a #9 mower I’m getting into working order but will deal with sitting low I guess lol. Thx for watching! Dave
Thanks for an awesome video! I’ve never seen that from the drivers’ view, only ever seen the horses and carts from a spectator viewpoint. How amazing, and so peaceful and enjoyable. Loves hearing all the sounds, The metal, the hooves, the leaves crunching, great video as always! Thanks! ❤
Thx DW, it is definitely peaceful. We were out over 2 hours and several folks just stopped to talk and admire. Was a great day to just be out enjoying mother nature!
My son built me a tongue like you have for my older Pioneer forecart; the upside is, that it is better for the horses, the downside is that it is much heavier to lift up than the old wooden pole which was on the underside of the platform, thereby giving better leverage. My horses are 18hh and over, but since I only work them in the field and do not go out on the road anymore (which has become too dangerous in our area because of all those speeding and non-attentive drivers) I do not feel that I need to sit higher. Yours is a very smart solution to the sight problem one has with big horses.
Yes my cart is 25 years old and was a total hunk of junk before I restored it, I built the tongue riser (video in library) and then bought a new tongue from Pioneer. You are 100% correct in the weight, much heavier!!! I'm fortunate to be able to ride out back where there is little traffic, we were out for over 2 hours and saw 4 cars, out in front of property its the Indy 500 and folks just don't care!
Hi Dave, im catching up. Hell of a trip to collect your prize, your friend had a nice pair of Suffolks and a great barn built by some real craftsmen. the fire was devastating over a very large acreage. On your short video you spoke about your health problems caused by your trips abroad, i thought your face looked a bit drawn, i hope youre getting the treatment you need and feel in better shape. You are certainly getting some handy carts around you making the training a bit easier. The fillies and mares are looking well. Thanks for the videos i know it must take some doing, look after yourself , Best wishes and Regards Alan from the UK.
Thanks Alan great to hear from you and thank you for the well wishes! Yes all will be fine and the girls are all doing great! We are celebrating Thanksgiving today and I have a lot to be thankful for! Best wishes to you and yours, Dave
I like the raised platform..good idea..I missed it is it a extra from the company or did you make it yourself? Also I dont like the spacing between you and the hip/safety rail ..seems so tight..no room..
Yes it’s from EZ Trail. As far as spacing goes, it’s the same with or without the platform. I guess it may look a bit tight but it is very manageable and I never feel cramped wishing I had more room. Thx for watching! Dave
Amazing job. Its It's not just the girls that are working better you seem a lot more comfortable with the Driving. The cart was ok it's you only being 5 foot 5 tall.😂😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry Brother. 🤙 Enjoy the Day 😎
Thx Andrew! There was a learning curve with taking 2 mares that had never been together nor worked with me. We ALL had to learn each other and I had to figure what words they understood. It’s getting smoother each time. Have a great week!
No I wish I could take the credit. EZ Trail in Ohio. No idea what phone number is as I got thru a 3rd party. I know it’s item #1122 Carthorse Platform and cost $230. It comes with brake pedal extension but 3rd party did not get. Hope that helps and thx for watching! Dave

The girls and the cart look great. You must have had a great time driving on a beautiful fall day. Enjoying the content😊
As always Ron thank you! The weather is great for driving and the girls are enjoying the weather with no humidity or flies.

I really find stuff like that fascinating to watch. It was fun to see the cart's transformation. What a lovely day to take the girls out for a ride.
Thx LB it was a beautiful day and girls were super relaxed! Have a Happy Thanksgiving

God Bless keep safe

Did you make the modification yourself? If so, do you sell them?

Vă salut din România 🇷🇴 ! De unde pot comanda platforma pe care ați prezentat-o…?
