I've had the older version of this for a long time. Dropped it and it made the same kind of sound you are describing, and I've noticed it's not really cleaning the way it used to. Not sure if it's under warranty but worth checking I suppose.

If you don't take proper care of your teeth you'll end up paying more than 230 in the long run. There are more affordable sonicare brushes if you don't have the money. However, I can tell the difference between a regular toothbrush and this one, a dramatic difference. When I combine it with the waterflosser it's like I've been to the dentist. There's also an app that shows you how well you are brushing and when you've missed areas of your teeth.

Yes it's bad You should switch it up with a regular non whitening toothpaste and if you find your teeth are sensitive already please avoid whitening toothpaste completely and use tooth paste for sensitive teeth. Wishing you all the best with your teeth!
I got the Philips Sonicare for kids (as I’m a kid) And I think it is awesome! They set a two minute timer where it turns off automatically when it reaches 2 mins. There is also a (beep) noise that comes every 30 seconds so each side (right left top right top left) gets 30 seconds of cleaning.
The metal vibrating prong became completely loose and was unusable after 10 months. Had to open it up and re tighten the single tiny screw to fix the prong back in place. That was 2 months ago and it has become loose again. Very dissapointed, ordered a io9
Yes, regular clean is 20 secs per section, six sections. White is 20secs per section, 8 sections (6 + 2 extra for front upper and lower teeth), gum care is 20 secs per section, 10 sections (6 + 4 side jaw sections). It’s amazing. Just got one of these. I'm used to the regular round-headed electric toothbrushes but man is this different.
