Another way to help clear out tiny little missed slivers that would be easier for the devs to implement is hold a key down and it makes all the forground glow some obnoxious bright colour so it really stands out from the background- some kinda thermal vision mode- that wouldmake the tiny slivers you missed way easier to see.
The mining mechanic is satisfying to an almost hypnotic level. The tower defence works too even if a bit bare bone. The game has definitely found its path and it just needs to progress further on it.
It seems really fun, but only to 2 or 3 runs. Then I feel the mining and waiting (30 min for the first action) would feel kinda boring... Maybe a little roguelike aspect might be necessary to speed up future gameplay?
@@7sete777 but more active than the lot of new games. They are too afk for my taste. I hate those idle games as well, because they are just automatic programs with almost no input from humans.
Best thing to do is always get the drill workshop first and upgrade your drill, the mining speed increase is insane and will save tons of time. It won't win any innovation awards, but I saw the price tag and I was getting ready to buy it since I found the aesthetics and mining appealing. But then the wave timer popped up and I was turned off immediately. This is a game where I'd want to get lost in fiddling with the act of mining, the layout and minutia that comes with it. A super hectic egg timer will basically deny me the one thing I'd find satisfying. If the waves were somewhat selectively triggered, like for example upon expanding, I'd be down.
Not sure if you're a regular viewer but Splat regularly makes videos on mining games (if you search for "mining" on his channel you'll get hundreds of results). You can probably find some interesting ones that don't have combat.
@@Gigusx I don't mind combat. However, I find that from a design perspective, the aggressive egg timer and the main gameplay in this particular title is a bit of a mismatch. Naturally, they do want tension and some sort of a fail-state, but I feel that the current solution is a bit cheap. I'd rather see some kind of underground 4x solution, with some sort of rudimentary diplomacy and multiple factions maybe, just to throw out some ideas. It would make an otherwise appealing game a lot more interesting and more appropriately paced. I urge you not to attempt to reduce the validity of any critique you see to the idea that the critic should simply find another game.
Funny thought, a mod called Doomencraft where you play a little Doom Marine against hordes of demons but instead of mining you just punch the walls with your bare fists. And instead of building up turrets and weapons you just launch yourself at the enemies in fits of blind rage or grab one to use it to beat the others flat with. >:D
The slivers aren't great, fair enough. It's the one teensy tiny single pixel that gets me. I'm loving the game though, nice mix of tower defence and building. Now we just need more turret types...
