Last year most teams said "Ya we tried it in scrims and it worked great, but suddenly Dallas shows up and everyone copied them". Would be interesting if the team that defines the meta most times gets to hide all season just to show up and bop people with some silly randomness.... of course the inverse is also possible.
The Top 9 teams are so stacked that there's a story for any of them winning. Should be an interesting season... if only it was on Twitch ....smh

Genuine question; what is the major problem with it being on UA-cam? From my perspective it's exactly the same experience, I just go to a different website. The product isn't affected.
@@catmoonkenobi basically the biggest difference is discoverability. It's easier for new ppl to discover the game and start watching it, thus growing the fanbase of the esport. Viewer numbers r bigger on twitch, easier to show to investors or casuals look bigger number. UA-cam at first was pretty bad for newer players to stumble upon streaming rather than vods. Since streams were hard to find for some reason. It's gotten better the past 2 years or so tho. And proponents of Twitch argue that the chat is better. I honestly cant tell the difference between them. They r both just mindless spam comments. But i personally dont look at chat when im watching it live. Id rather just watch the gameplay.
It's the streaming site, i think a lot of ppl just r loyal to it at this point, even tho honestly, UA-cam imo has caught up and/or is better. I can pause the stream if something is happening and then unpause it and it'll be right where i left off, instead of Twitch where it'll just skip all the way back to live. Also i can rewind or go back 10 seconds in case i missed something, or if i wanna re-watch something.

@@catmoonkenobithe viewing experience is probably actually better on UA-cam but the numbers you get on twitch is better both for the game as a whole and for the viewers as it’s more interactive with more people. Growing the game is always a good thing and UA-cam exclusivity stifles it

I personally think you guys went way too hard on Boston and Houston, both those teams have incredible talent and I reckon over the course of the season, they will absolutely come into their own and be top teams. I think you guys put way too much stock into the Pro AM. In my opinion, Glads and Mayhem looked much better because they were taking it way more seriously than the other teams, and they also had much more practice going into it. Also in my opinion, Boston and Houston were not taking it too seriously as evident by their trolling and strange composition choices.
This, plus the teams that did well also didnt really change their roster that much. Hence why Mayhem ended up winning the whole thing. They dont have to take the extra time in learning how to work together and synergy.
The problem with Boston is always the mental component and now with the leaks of forfeiting scrims, leaving early, and taking 40 min breaks mid scrims it seems like that’s the case. No way you could have known when you posted this but it doesn’t look good now
Spark underrated tbh, especially if they get a winston meta, they just clear, as long as the supports don't throw, I know Guxue last year was questionable before playoffs but in the playoffs he showed up, he had several flat out game winning plays, him and Shy carried the team to 4th place, and now the team is way more stacked

I'm sorry but putting Houston at 7th has got to go down as one of the **WORST TAKES** in plat chat history, up there with greats such as "void is washed" and "yaki top 3 flex dps". You're telling me that a team that fills every role with someone who is top 5 at their position is going to be below 5th? You're telling me that this team is "meta dependent" and "non-adaptable" when you have spark at 3rd and fuel at 5th? Also I don't understand how we're giving houston a hard time for BEATING shock and BARELY losing to glads when reign LOST to glads. "Oh but this is end of season rankings" you really think that outlaws will be losing to glads, mayhem, toronto, and boston consistently? Sure maybe these teams can beat outlaws on a good day but let's not forget glads were 1 map away from losing to justice. Glads, toronto, and boston are all able to lose to mid tier teams but I don't see outlaws losing to mid tier teams. Fearless/garg clears danteh, someone, han solo, guxue/midty, hawk/donghak and probably only gets diffed by junbin max, pelican clears checkmate, leave, sp9rkle, stalk3r, heesang, happy clears edison, kai, shu clears everyone, viol2t clears lengsa, bliss, flastro, and is on the same level of vindaim and chorong. Also if we're worried about coaching let's not forget how much junkbuck has helped the outlaws win with mid players. If outlaws can get 3rd in the playoffs with only a few superstars on their team, think about what junk can do with a super team. "Oh but it's always houstonable", houston were one of the most consistently clutch teams last year, almost every time they went to map 5 they won. the only times they lost were to teams like fuel and shock who were just better. This team has shown they can clutch up whenever they feel like it and win. This team will be a lock for top 3 by the end of the year and their clutch factor will keep them at the top of the standings.

And the big thing with Houston imo is they have more clutch players than Glads and Florida. In crunch time the back line on Outlaws can 2 v 4 or 5 at times. They just can. Even though they're only supports. Glads, Florida, Dallas they are missing consistent clutch factors at certain position. Now Fuel will farm the East outside of like Spark and Charge maybe. so their wins may be inflated. But Glads and Mayhem will finish in standings at end of regulation before play offs

I don't hate it. Dallas has a WAY harder schedule this year than any team in the West. The East is gonna be a slaughter house with teams using blows and taking wins off each other all season

@@meatscraps Dallas does not have a harder schedule than any team in the west. The west actually has pretty much all the good teams. The only team that should somewhat consistently beat Dallas in APAC is Charge. If any of the other teams get more than 2 wins on Dallas, it is because they are massively underperforming. APAC is just really weak.

The weighting of pro am seems pretty weird here tbh. Either we are weighing pro am performances somewhat heavily in which case theres just no excuse to have shock number one after they lost to a contenders team and then nearly didnt get out of group stage, or we shouldn't weigh pro am as much in which case having Florida and Glads at 5 and 6 over teams like Boston and Houston is pretty inexcusable as well. I think there are valid arguments either way but it just kinda seems like we are giving pro am a ton of weight for some teams and then pretending like it never happened for others.
Well shock had 200 ping and 5 am so weighing it less for them than others is kind of fair
@lehocool7449 sure and had they just lost to Florida and Houston on ping then I would totally forgive that but they also lost to a contenders team. I'm not saying they should crater in the rankings, I think I still had them at 3rd in mine, but still having total faith in them after that performance does seem a bit weird to me.

Shock 1st is just pure Proper copium and history bias. They're almost an entirely new squad this year and they haven't shown any reason to believe they would be top 5, let alone 1st. Their entire team is unproven in OWL, apart from finn and proper. That being said, I can see any of the top 9 winning it all. This season is stacked as hell
they were almost an entirely new sqaud last year and got second.Also vindaim is proven in OWl
@@lehocool7449 True. I did forget about vindaim, but I personally don't rate him that high. He is 100% a downgrade from violet. Proper/kilo/striker/s9mm was also a much better DPS line than just proper/heesang, so another downgrade there. Overall I think it is undebatable that shock downgraded this season, meanwhile the other top 8 teams all upgraded massively. They also got completely shitstomped in the pro-am. I don't see how this translates to shock being #1. Top 5 maybe, but putting them at #1 is pure history bias.
@@mikevantassel5559 well vindaim is a better main support than violet. Heesang is also better than the old dps not worse so u have gotten that wrong. And the tanks are clearly a huge upgrade to last year. Also pro am doesn't matter for end of season rankings. If u think otherwise ur just wrong

In the past I have preferred to watch the East Region games but even I have to say this year is going to be weak for them.
I mean arguably, even though Dragons won in 2021, I would say the past few seasons now the East has gotten noticeably worse with a pretty sharp drop off in talent and skill compared to the West. This year just really takes it to the next level with how lopsided it is

I'm confused why you guys are so down on Dongsu. Sure he took a bit of absence 2022, but he was with Shanghai during their best years. How you can say that's somehow much worse than Defiant is wack to me. Sure, Casores is also really good, but the gap isn't as wide. I'll be the first to eat my words, just thought Dongsu needed a little backing up. Especially considering the players Boston has.
My big problem with your rankings is that you're saying it's Season Rankings, but treating it like a Power Ranking. Y'all should have factored schedule into this more

When it comes to strength, Charge definitely clear the bottom tier NA teams, up to London/Titans, but when we are talking about records, they don't have as many bottom tier owl teams in apac to steal maps/matches from as the ones in NA do. That said, with contenders also playing in apac, we might see both really strong teams coming out of that and some more bottom ones, which charge could beat up. Honestly do we know which contenders teams participate yet? It would be good to add those to tier lists like these since they are officially part of owl for this season.
I said this last week too, Shock are gonna win 2023. Now they r finally back in NA, they can actually react in time to things that are happening on screen they r just gonna destroy. Like every game they've lost were close. Map 5 against Houston, and map 3s when it was best of 3s... on 200ms PING... the entire team.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but any time Proper came out on hitscan he dominated like there's no tomorrow.
There were multiple occasions where he played hitscan over Kilo last year (yeah, yeah, Kilo doubters, I know) and he was extremely good.
In the Pro-Am he mirrored Widow against Happy at 5am on 200 Ping and it was not even anywhere near close, so I don't see where this argument is coming from.
Heesang can definitely play the Tracer in that composition no doubt.
Honestly, it’s an interesting thing. Proper seems a little inconsistent on hitscan is all. I have zero worries about proper on widow, but i do have worries about heros like cass and Ashe.

As a dumb idiot, I’d have to agree with most of the spots. I’m biased since I’m a Boston fan but overall this ranking isn’t the worst. However I do have to agree with someone else who mentioned schedule strength, I don’t think y’all took it into account at all… I do believe only “stage” 1 is out anyway so I’ll give the benefit of doubt but man it feels like mostly vibes today

IMO That's probably down to coaching more than players. So they could fix things over time. Like I think people think Lip is a OTP Sombra player. While it is his BEST hero, he's also incredibly talented on Widow, Soujern, Cassidy and any other hitscan option. He's also an incredibly talented Sombra.
To me, it's more what they practiced probably for the Pro Am, like that is probably THE comp they practiced the most.

Atlanta has nothing except the back line and some are communicating with a Western tank, who is the team leader for the first time ever. Take it wise Reign may be the best, but there are a few things that are pretty concerning that are outside of player quality

and also, why nail everything down to each spot and THEN do tier breaks? You should go the other way round. Establish tiers first and then see who in these tiers is actually higher or lower.

Rating Houston below Dallas is beyond me. And SF will be lucky to finish 4th this year.
Proper won't be able to play any of his best heroes most of the time and will thus have a worse season than last year. He is going to be stuck in hitscan jail and is only a top 10 hitscan player. He is going to get diffed by Lip, Shy, Kai, MN3, Merit, FITS.. and matched by Aspire, Hydron, and Prophet.
Heesang will be playing all of Propers best heroes, but will get diffed by Kevster, Stalker, Decay, Striker, Sparkle, Choisehwan, Leave, Pelican, Yaki, Profit, Zest, and AlphaYi. He's not going to be in the top 10 of the league.
And Junbin is a feeder!

It’s Shock, Anytime they sign a Player they get overhyped. Imo the only player that lived up to the hype was Proper. Finn is good but I feel like Violet is better and their Tank line is extremely overhyped. They’re all good but not as good as the Proven Tank players like someone, Fearless.

The Top 10 of this season could go anyway. We could see underdogs rise and superteams fall. We saw in the Pro-Am that the top eight of NA are so competitive and close in skill (except for Spitfire kekw.)
