Du Pont is that critical in the French team... he broke his cheekbone in a 2023 world cup pool match and underwent surgery and while most players would have still been off, he was cleared to play the world cup quarter final against South Africa..
Anglo suspicious referees from SAf , NZ vs France => erased France instead SAf 1995 , joubert vs france 2011 ty , 2023 NZ blue yes nice smart young "fck" ref "... :1995 ,2011 ,2023...Ok rugby is for you...don't be pride , cheat is on your side.
He is essential because Lucu is not the best on the bench, le Garrec or Jeaunneau are really talented and could take his place (of course they're not as good as him)
You should watch the highlights of France winning the LA Sevens. It was their first World Series win since 2005. Dupont was playing in only his second tournament. The fitness demands of 7s are very different to 15s. Since there is so much space to cover, the fitness training is brutal. Speed is also less of a benefit, because everyone who plays 7s is fast. There aren’t that many players who could play both forms at the highest level, but Dupont is definitely one of those. His skillset is so strong, and he has so much physical power, he’s impossible to stop.
12:15: recent rule: Kick from behind the 50, to the opponents' 22, get the possession in the lineout back...Fantastic! Toulouse, same pronunciation as "To lose"... 😁
Exactly, we just call that a 50/22. It’s in metric, so the middle of the 100m long pitch is at 50m, and the 22m line is calculated from the try/touchdown line. In that area you can do a mark on opponent’s kick or you can kick directly in line-out without having the ball to touch the inside field before. So this 22m line is very strategic in rugby.
pps, Eamonn. You have over one thousand subscribers so soon because to have earned them well. Your soft-spoken politeness and 'need to know' dimension is outstanding, in my opinion.
His rugby IQ is off the charts to support his unbelievable abilities as a rugby player. And all that while being the nicest on the pitch , Super Dupont is our petit général ❤ 🇫🇷 the level of confidence you get when he s on the pitch…
A French team without some important players in its squad like Marchand (hooker), Ntamack (fly-half), Meafou (Lock), Colombe (Prop) or Le Garrec ( scrum-half) the best alternative to Dupont.
Le Garrec is playing this week-end. But ,yes, Les Bleus miss the Ntamack/Dupont axis. I hope your current 9/10 do a top job and I hope France beat the English on Saturday.@@FromAgen
AD made so much differents in the game because he is so complet ! And for complet the legend we can say, he made so defensive plays Like against Hansen Iraland winger crazy moov', A 50-22 against England in 6 nations tournament when you know it's calculated before ... And he can hit the ball with left and right foot !
The scrumhalf by default should be at least the second or third guy at EVERY tackle. I wouldn't say they are 'the quarterback" of rugby because there is no position in rugby that is the sole commander of play but when pairing with a Flyhalf it is quite similar. Though they do score often their job description is more that they distribute the ball to someone else in position to do so. They are more a point guard than a quarterback.
Antoine is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best 9 in the World. One look at the French XV performances since his absence, on Olympic 7's duty, speaks volumes. He rules the roost 🏴☠☘
See if you can find a clip of his tackle against Ireland in last year's 6 nations. Single-handedly stopped a dead-to-rights try and is legit more impressive than any of these highlights
the craziest thing is that dupont unlock another weapon which is to scratch balls in the rucks (tackle zone) we have never seen a scrum half as complete as Antoine Dupont it's unheard of in rugby
Dupont played Rugby 7 for France at the Olympic Games in Paris ... and won Gold medal ! I say won because he entered at the second half of the game and did all the job leading to the final win. Nothing less ...
Yep I watched that live! Was so awesome to see him win it for France. You can check out my live stream from the game here - ua-cam.com/users/liveTVlJ8b3GmxY?feature=share I wasn't able to show the footage of the match but that is just me watching it happen live if you wanna check it out.
Scrum half is not a quarter back at all. He’s the connection between the forwards (scrum) and the 3/4 (the lines that runs). It’s a key position of course as the ball needs to move from the forwards to the 3/4. But the ones expected to score are the wingers (end of line) even if the game can see 3/4 or even forwards scoring… DuPont is unusually aggressive and efficient for a half scrum.
Just like American football Sevens(spelled Svens) is a derivative of Rugby. Svens is the same game same rules but only 7 players per side, two 7 min half's on a 100 meter pitch. Kind of like 7 minutes of 50 meter wind sprints with people battering you. Catch the women's game both in union and 7's. just as competitive, fast and exciting.
Your pronunciation in french is not so bad. If you want to say ''Toulouse'' correctly say ''to lose''...but in fact it's one of the best rugby team in Europe!
I think someone mentioned that to me earlier and I messed it up again ha. Yeah I learned some french in school but its been a while. My sister is fluent. Has been living in France for awhile.
It's very difficult to "qualify" him, so "out of the ordinary" is this guy. He "smells" rugby, and breathes it out of every pore, to the point of believing that his baby bottle was shaped like a rugby ball! He's got the physique, the vision and the intelligence to play the game. It will be interesting to see him play something other than XV rugby at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, during the "SEVEN".
As a comparison for a hockey fan, Dupont has the same impact as Gretzky had on his team and set the standard for players in his position for many years to come.

His choice, that would have been very unfair to him to miss the event if he had a chance to play. The team was fine even without him.
He is essential because Lucu is not the best on the bench, le Garrec or Jeaunneau are really talented and could take his place (of course they're not as good as him)
That's why they lost. I don't understand why he played against Namibia.
@@hanooneeme8947 France didn't lose because whatever with Namibia and they lost because of O'Keeffe.

The pace, the balance, the upper core body strength, the vision - one of the best number 9s that I can remember
THE best ...
The Best ever.

Antoine Dupont est tout simplement l’un des meilleurs joueurs du monde. D’ailleurs élu à ce titre en 2021 par World Rugby !
Dupont is crazy good, i have never seen a french team as good as the 2023 world cup squad with Dupont at 9

Without doubt the most talented player in modern rugby
L'esprit du rugby l'habite, de cette pépite sortira, à coup sûr , une légende ! 👍
This man is dynamite ,with eyes everywhere and a machine reaction time.
He is very impressive.

We can still argue that Toulouse did pretty well when he hasn't played much for the club this year.

Just watched it. Wow what a play. I really need to do a video on defensive plays soon. I keep forgetting ha.
Fuck that was awesome, i yelled in the bar i work in when it happened. Also i met him in paris and he's really nice
Antoine Dupont don't play for the 6 nations championship this year, because he joined the french seven team to prepare the Olympic games.
And France XV are shite.. sorry.. merde.
And got gold

The correct pronunciation of Toulouse is: “To loose”

Bonjour,

As a comparison for a hockey fan, Dupont has the same impact as Gretzky had on his team and set the standard for players in his position for many years to come.
I can dig what he’s done but dang, he’s one boring commentator. Mumbling through the whole video.
