Those septic systems are a cool solution. I installed one of those type of setups for my in-laws where the pods were filled with peat moss. Have those been around in your area very long? Not too long for us here in Indiana. Great editing work in your videos!
I believe the last 3 years they have been here. I could be very wrong
They've been around here(Illinois) for several years. I refuse to install them. My opinion is they're for "lazy" excavators who don't understand alternative septics.
@@jasonneels3760 Interesting to hear. I thought it was still a fair amount of work compared to a filter bed or presby systems that I've installed. We really didn't have a choice though either as this was the only option that had a small footprint and could be installed in a woods on heavy clay soil. The next smallest option would've required clearing about 3X the trees that we had to clear for the pods. Do you feel as if they won't work as well or just that they are overly convenient? I love alternative septic ideas but we are limited to what our county will approve for installation.
@@digdrivediy the problem with them, atleast in our region, is the service contract and maintenance is sold off to a third party company located in Canada. Once the installer is done, the homeowner will never see him again. My business is strictly in septics. I don't like the idea of putting something in i have no control over after I leave. Not to mention these coco filters leave fecal chloroform in the effluent when testing for surface discharge.

They make a blunt tip pin that might work better for your application. You guys aren't necessarily trying to dig a hole in the Rock so much as cause it to fracture along stress cracks. The blunt tip would probably wear better in that situation. I liked your music choice for the time lapse. Good video!

do you guys do mound systems at all? you might have said a reason in the video, but would it be any cheaper to do a mound vs Hammering if its allowed?
also we dont do septic's so that is literally me asking a (dumb) question i know nothing about....
you might have to use explosives to get rid of the rock. we do this in australia in suberbia where people put swimming pools in back yards etc

How much does a system like that cost? What did the customer pay? I have never seen stuff like that down here in the states. I do a ton of leach field type.
It varies on the size. Let’s say 30-50k CAD range

@@KenWhiteConstruction You would think you could get it machined to fit in carbide teeth from millers. They can withstand planing concrete and asphalt for hours! And then be replaceable when they break off or wear out, cutting your down time by a huge margin.

I don't get the point of 2 extra tanks plus a pump if its still going to a leach field.? Makes no sense rather than just a second tank no pump and a field?
Pump is needed to get the treated effluent to the bed area. Gravity won’t work. Water can’t run up hill
