From 2009-2024, Bonobo has come so far. His new stuff is still so unique and beautiful, but there's jsut something about this performance that stands out as special for me. Just an amazing show.
I remember ripping this whole thing off UA-cam or might have even been Vimeo about a decade ago and parting it into single songs just to carry it around on my iPod. Haven't watched this video in a loooong time. Thanks for the reupload and memories.
Just watched Bonobo at the Royal Albert Hall, amazing he's moved on since this but great to come back to see where they came from. First time I saw him in 2009 I was a small club in Exeter.
Tracklisting: 01. Days To Come 02. Nothing Owed 03. Ketto 04. Dismantling Frank 05. Walking in The Sky 06. Noctuary 07. The Plug 08. Flutter 09. Nightlite 10. Transmission94 11. Between The Lines 12. On Your Marks
Excellent! Among the best sound levels and balance for live performance recordings you will find anywhere..Bonobo and his crew-such talented musicians. This video is truly one of the undiscovered gems on UA-cam!!
An amazing live show from Bonobo right here. Actually even think some aspects of this performance connect with me more than the studio versions of these tunes. Wish I was there!
My friend, if that sounds all over the place to you, then you haven't yet adequately trained your jazz ears/scales, and ya haven't opened your mind and soul to be receptive of the concept of "dancing around the fact" in jazz, otherwise referred to as "tip-toeing around the box", the box being the "scale". This will all make more sense to your earholes when you open yourself up to it!
"Look, that guy is acting out of the ordinary. He must be high, drunk or mentally ill, because why would a human being appear to be different than others for any other reason"..........

In 2009 I was 18 years old and I didn't have a clue what was going on. I am so happy that now I discovered this magic...
This jazzy era of Days to Come and Black Sands was just MAGICAL! Andreya Triana for the win!
The Plug is a masterpiece
