What I like about her so much is that she doesn't spit out the food and cuss like insane like some youtubers do when they do taste tests... She still respect the food as it is. =)
Hannah Fu Thank you. Food is great and deserves our respect. :)
+emmymadeinjapan True! :3
+Hannah Fu That's my favourite part of this channel!
+xKaitoACUTEx - DarkerShade (ShadesofBlue) cool
I swear some people think that swearing makes them cooler...
OMG EMMY I'M SO EXCITED THAT YOU FINALLY REVIEWED MY PACKAGE!
Thank you so much for opening it :) My mum and I loved watching you try our local foods!
i want to know, what is the brand of the milk tea? thanks
I love how amazing and impressed you are by the concept of dragons beard and then 3-4 years later your making it yourself like a boss! Love you Emmy, I quite frequently go back and watch all the different playlists you have x
A scissors is a perfect stirring utensil! :)
Donal Skehan thats what i use when its all i have

Donal Skehan "You didn't see that... You didn't see that..!" hahah
Donal Skehan so is a screw driver.
I love these videos. Emmy's voice is really soothing.
+JackieFuckingChan She has such a soft voice and she speaks so calm! i love her videos!
the thing I admire most about your videos is how you're always willing to try new things. you're not very judge mental about different foods from different cultures because you're always intrigued to try new things. I love your videos!!
That's one place in Asia I have not been yet, but it's high on my list. Looks delish Emmy!
***** Thanks, Bobby!
I applaud the sender for selecting such a good selection of treats from HK! lived there for most of my childhood and I can vouch that I have tried and love all of these foods :)
my favorite part about your tasting videos is in addition to getting to see you eat all these snacks and describe them so well, you tell us all about them too! so informational. and it helps when the sender includes all their own information :)
It's like we're tasting it along with her. And that's what I like most about it because most of the stuff that she's eating I'm not allowed to have anyway and I'll never be able to taste it.
I've been watching emmy for an incredibly long time and I've always wondered when she'd do a HK episode, being from HK seeing this episode makes me endlessly happy!
it's amazing that Annette included so much info!! love it
I love watching your videos! I could sit down for hours and watch them! I like yours specifically because you are so inelegant and well cultured! Thanks for being awesome!!
Mmm, i love seaweed SO much too :)
In Denmark we have these amazing seaweed snacks that are oil fried nori sheets cut into hand sized squares, and then flavored, usually with chili and ginger. They are fantastic. Easily my favorite snack
My names Annette . When you said Annette I was like WHATTTTTTTTTT!!!!!
Me too! 😁
+Annette Nguyen It's the invasion of Annettes hehehe
@@annetteokwong You are the person who made this video possible, aren't you?
I have a cousin in law called Annette
@@camvin575 i believe she is, yes.
Lol! Can I just say exactly how much I love how you say, "scrumptious" in your taste testing videos? Haha!
You're amazing I love all your videos, no one makes these like you do ^w^
Great video as always so educating, keep up the fantastic videos !
Yay! Hong Kong finally
Great to see Emmy eating snacks from HK
emmy's reaction to the dragons beard candy was so cute !! ^^ I love these videos !!
I LOVE WATCHING EMMY!! SHE THE PERFECT JOB : A FOODIE!!! 😋
THE HAWFLAKES ARE SO GOOD! my students gave me some for Chinese New Year this year.
I love Hawthorn berries, in my studies of traditional Chinese medicine :) I mix it with small amounts of aloe vera, prickly pear fruit cactus & a pinch of ginger to help lower my nephew's blood sugar levels on a daily basis
Ooh I'm so happy someone sent you dragon's beard candy! I was thinking if someone sent a Taiwanese package that I hoped they'd dragon's beard candy, too, since it's common in Taiwan as well. Now you've tried it! :)
I love you, Emmy! Love your food testing videos! ^.^
Emmy I love your videos so much. You are so sweet and respectful of other culture's food. Keep up the amazing videos!
P.S. you always look super gorgeous. ;)
it is on my bucket list to try dragons beard candy it looks so wonderful
It's really nothing special. It's more for the novelty and spectacle if you watch them make it.
THIS WAS A GREAT BOX OF YUMMIES!! I wanted to try everything!
Your videos are my favourite and I am always hungry afterwards :D
hi emmy! I'm going to England this summer and ur episodes on the uk have really helped :,B!! i can't wait to try all the stuff there!!!
I just got a snack package from Hong Kong, myself, and it had the same Dragon's Beard candy in it!! The person that sent it to me also included black sesame and almond. I tried the one you tried, and have yet to try the others. I've been obsessed to try it since I saw a couple UA-cam videos on street vendors making it! It wasn't as sweet as I thought it was going to be, but non the less, it was AMAZING! I also received a couple DIY candy kits. The pizza one, the chocolate bear puzzle, the toilet candy, and a gummi you shape into a squid. I'm so excited to make them, and I've had you, along with others to thank for that! Keep making your videos, Emmy! I love learning about exotic foods!
Her voice is so soothing
HAW FLAKES! I haven't had those since I was a kid! I used to play with them like they were pennies, and played store with my sister lol I always thought they had a raisin-like flavour, but with a much better texture. My mom used to buy them at the Filipino store on Sundays, and that would be our treat :) Simpler times...
hi emmy, im from macau, a city right next to hk. macau is also a SAR of china, and is formerly ruled by the portuguese. we macanese eat basically the same snacks as the hongkongers. i wish to send you some of our snacks sometime in the future! ;) xx
Lumberjack Emmy forever! I love your reaction to the dragon's beard candy. You looked like a little kid at Christmas!
Only 3 slices of seaweed?! The whole package would be gone with me. Lol
Same!!!
I would've inhaled it xD
Sarah Ko gross no offense
Same here haha! I could have eaten it all in one sitting. I love seaweed, especially when it's flavored with spicy wasabi 😍
I'd have nom'ed the lot
Excellent Commentary Emmy love your Presentation and always Happy Attitude it's inspirational Keep up the Awesome Reviews 😎😀😊
I love your videos! You are really good at describing the flavors! I wouldn't be able to do that :)
These are scrumptious looking treats to learn about.
5:23 I love dragon beard candy! I always buy them when I'm in Hong Kong.
i went to hongkong last may 11, before i went there i visited your youtube page, and i try to find if you have some videos of hongkong treats and unfortunately i found nothing... so i was really excited when you posted this video... i bought some of this treats... now i have treats to share with my family and friends...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE!! The seaweed!! 😍😍😍
Love you videos💞 they are the best💞
The end of the video is so funny haha. Love you emmy 😘
Hi, Emmy! If you want to see the creation of the dragon's beard candy, you can just go to your local china town. They actually have vendors that sell it but the candy-makers spin the candy right before your eyes. It's a great experience and I highly recommend it. Great video too!
The little fish snack is that kind of snack you can't stop eating. You won't even realise how much you ate already. It's just tooooooo delicious.
The seaweed packets are/were a childhood favorite. Nostalgia factor.....
Also I have never known the English name for whitebait. Always referred to them in Chinese. I learned something today.
Gosh those dragon beard candies looked like tiny silkworm cocoons. That's gorgeous.
Hey Emmy....it has been a while since I last commented on your videos but I'm sooo glad to see you're still doing these and you are still going strong!
I really enjoyed this video, because I have tasted things like the seaweed and dragon's beard myself and they were to die for:-)
Hope everything is very much ok with your kids and hubbie.....thank you for this video, as always! Bye

Btw 香港人揮個手🙋
i want to try a lot of these! they look great!
My cousin lives in Hong Kong with her little family. Whenever she comes back to the states she also brings along amazing snacks!
i love "overcooked" black tea, esp when cooked on charcoal / the leftovers of a bonfire. slowly cooking for some hours and you have non bitter black tea with any suffering on taste.
I went to a food festival in Malaysia a few years ago and saw people making dragon beard... I can imagine how much practice it requires to make it. The food is so delicate and quite messy to eat!
Your video presentations are so sweet and interesting.
OMG!!! LOOOOOVE The dragon beards!!!
I just found your videos today and I love love love them. I love learning about foods from other cultures. I was wondering what is the japanese phrase that you say before eating? Keep posting and I'll keep watching!
I love your explanations, and I love how you like all the food you eat. We would get along on that ! :-)
"Crispy, fried, yummy, beer gaarrrrhhh!" So funny! Had to watch that four times! x)
There is a place in Montreal's Chinatown where you can watch them make dragon's beard and buy it fresh. It is soooo good. It's the thing I always recommend to people if I know they are going to Montreal.
Sorry but your voice is soothing and very clear. Hehe sounds like a disney character voice. Love it
Nice one Emmy and Annette! I used to work for the Hongkong Bank, but unfortunately I never got a chance to visit the place myself.
I LOVE that brand of seaweed!!!
😃amazing video as always!
i love your videos emmy
Don't worry, Emmy. Who hasn't stirred drinks with things you're not supposed to before? I used to use the ends of my eyeglass arms to pick in my ears...we all do gross things.
Lol I use a bobby pin.
inuyashaxx I thought I was the only one! I'm not alone!!
inuyashaxx my mom uses her house keys.
In dim sum restaurants, they don't provide tespoons. So when I need to stir sugar into my tea, I use chopsticks or my finger. 😂😂😂
Read your comment again and realised you were talking about digging ears. I used to use the end of my ballpoint pens. Woe to those who borrowed them. 😏😏😏
You should go try fresh dragon beard candy in Korea! :D

Seaweed is probably one of my favourite south east Asian snacks! The ones with more salt are better (tasting, at least).
Hehe, my name is Annette too, so whenever you said "Annette thanks for sending me this" or "Annette included this" I kept thinking you were talking to me 😂
My summer plans are to enjoy autumn here in Australia ;) I don't know why I am watching your videos when doing LBL though :( I want that Dragon's beard!
Hey Emmymadeinjapan love your videos keep up the great work i am such a fan of yours & a subscriber, one other thing to mention on Hong Kong they are famous for 1 special foreign export to the USA & hes name is Lee Jun Fan AKA Bruce Lee (I know he had duel nationality & born in the U.S) but still its worth remembering a great life & role model. as I said keep up the great work Soldier peace! :D

💓💓💘💘💗💗💖💖
wow emmy you are amazing, for dome reason you have enabled me to have the urge to eat more oriental snacks lol, and by the way, what lens do you use? thanks
I lived in HK the first 6 years of my life. These r literally legit snacks from HK
In Mexicali (Baja California/Mexico) where my mom was born, salted plums are called "saladitos". I like to cut an orange in half and stick a saladito in the middle. Then, we eat the orange making sure to take a lick of the saladito each time. When the orange is gone, a lot of the salt and flesh is gone from the saladito and the remaining flesh is chewy and delicious from absorbing the orange. Try it and you may become a fan. 🍊 Also, you rock! - Virginia
I don't have enough money to eat everything I want currently so I'm living vicariously through you. Your soothing voice is great too.
Lumberjack Emmy Forever!!! 💜💜
Hey! Just wanted to let you know that if you ever visit Montreal, Canada and go to china town, there is this small, hole in the wall vendor that hand makes THE BEST dragon beard candies ever and he makes it in front of everyone! Also they have really good bubble tea ;) It's the first place I go every time I visit Montreal so just giving you a heads up love you videos btw!
