When we went on a trip to Japan for a few days I was surprised because people there have so much TRUST. @@mattcaesar5781 Its common because the night life in Seoul is very real. Most business are open 24 hours a day, you commonly see "24" on signs outside restaurants' and shops. If they aren't open 24 then they are open until 4am, so waking up late or in the middle of the night and going to a convenience store to get food happens a lot and the food at those stores is really high quality. For reference a night out in Korea doesn't usually start until about 9 or 10pm and usually ends around 9am the next day. It's great that anyone can safely go out late at night or early hours of morning and be OK, and local shops are still open. It's a shame that this isn't the case across the globe.
Let people take a break haha there's a reason why local shops aren't open.
@@SarahLynn-t6tKorean shops are automated no one works there.
Safe enough in my neighborhood/ town that I've walked to the 24/7 gas station at 2am and HAVENT BEEB BOTHERED AT ALL. Stay off the internet and touch some grass 😂
@@cpresuttisThat is the case for some countries/ towns not the whole world.
@@cpresuttisyeah. You can’t do that where I live. LOL.
There are good and bad people in every country, it's always best to be safe and have some way to protect yourself if needed and always know the emergency hotlines in whatever country you're in.
Oh but some are much more dangerous. You don't walk around certain areas in the US where you aren't safe even in the middle of the day
@@awkwardautistic that's why I basically never walk around alone, I always have my dog beside me. He's very protective of me and most people will leave you alone when you have a dog unless the dog looks friendly but my dog is dark brindle colored so he generally doesn't look friendly.

I understand it's safer than most countries, but there's always a possibility for bad things to happen anyway - please be careful, during the nights overall 🥺
Facts creepy people exist everywhere so caution is always best
SK actually has a massive SA problem and the rates seem lower because many don't report. Also, midnight isn't that late in most large cities.

in all seriousness even if korea is safer doesn't mean its completely safe, make sure to be aware of your surroundings

Please don't let the internet fool you. There are wicked people everywhere and you need to be aware of your surroundings even in perceived safe places and even more so when visiting another country. Korea has a rampant problem with hidden cameras, revenge p0rn, assault, and the government isn't doing much to prevent this. So many people, k-drama, and kpop fans overlook this even though some of our faves died for this very reason. I'm thankful to the small group of people fighting against these crimes.
What tf is revenge porn? Like recording having sex...
@@songonly-ol1lt its basically releasing explicit content of a partner/ex partner without their consent usually because of a break up or falling out.

OK the fearmongering is a bit weird but let's point out that if you just go to have some food at a shop you shouldn't really have any of those issues.
@jmo5709 more specifically almost every developed country has good and bad parts and in general nowadays people are far too willing to make biased examples that could easily be done the other way around for example where I grew up is probably safer than the example she's using and I could easily find a worse example place in Korea to make mine look even better
